Thrifty Foods

Never shop at this Thrifties location. Bought a starbucks giftcard that wasn’t loaded and when I tried calling them 3 times they proved to be super unhelpful, knowing they were in the wrong for not activating the gift-card. They could have told me they think their “gift-card system” is down when I bought it, not when I’ve tried calling 3 times to explain that it hasn’t been activated. I wouldn’t expect something like this from a grocery store. They’re focus should be customer-oriented but my experience with all the employees here, that is not the case. I get that stores can be busy, but when a customer is calling in a case where the store made a mistake, the people picking up the phone shouldn’t be so rude, and should provide some assistance/direction on what to do. I talked to 5 different employees across 3 phone calls and each proved to be ignorant and unhelpful.

Best grocery store staff in Victoria! Also, the wood fired pizza is pretty good. It's a small store so the product selection isn't as great as other Thrifty Foods locations.

Prices are insanely expensive now. No point in getting groceries from here when I can order food for cheaper. Frozen pizzas for example that used to be 2.99 are now 8.99. This isn't inflation its just greed and its disgusting. My only hope is that one day everyone involved in such things will get whats comming to them.

We ordered a couple of trays for a family get together. I did not realize that they needed to be ordered 48 hours in advance and had allowed 24 hours. Contacted Shelby at the Thrifty's Tuscany. She really came through! Customer service on the phone was excellent.
Plus the cheese and sandwich trays were really well presented and great quality. I'll be back again.

The Gardening lady Rosalie is the best person I have ever spoken to in Canada. She is extremely good hearted and so happy. She smiles all the time. Thank you for your help Rosalie.

They really need to expand their bakery. Some old same old. And, half the time they're out of treats. More selection like Thrifty's would be appreciated.

My favourite grocery store on the island. Prepare to pay a wee bit more, but quality and service makes up for it.

Very nice location on the mekenzie street have food dine in and take away hot plates full selection of grocessiers easy access to buses and very good place for parking contact with customers is less that is the only problem I have seen. Overall satisfactory serving

Really well kept grocery. Great meat department. Everything is displayed so nicely throughout the store. They have a good selection. Two of the cashiers were noticeably distressed, but I blame what seems to be a severe under staffing (common in this pandemic) some problematic customers, and less than enthusiastic management. If we are just scoring based on how well kempt the store is and their prices and selection, five stars.

Picked up a sushi special, then spotted an on sale pork loin then Portuguese buns for pulled pork base.
Friendly staff, clean store and safe pkg lot (on an icy day) was really appreciated.

The same as usual, a price though. And this place is packed with students late afternoon and evening, so choose your time wisely

Lots of good options for groceries and fresh. Not the best price ever but convenient since they open late.

I shop here often due to convenience (proximity to my home), but I am really starting to question whether it is worth it.

The pros: A good amount of their produce is great, and they have good quality butcher/seafood area.

The cons: Their mouse and/or rat problem is getting out of hand. I have started inspecting the bags of bread products that I buy and quite often find small holes in them that have clearly been chewed through by either mice or rats. I went to buy some bagels today and and every single bag had holes in them and pieces of the bagels eaten.

Given that this has been going on for months, I really question the sanitariness of the rest of the food in the store.

Don't take this rating as anything negative. Thrifty Foods and all of their employees do a bang up job and I have nothing ill to say about the prices or even the decor. I happen to find every location to be very inviting and comfortable.
It just happens that the closest location is a 2 bus ride and once again, that's nothing negative about the store

The fresh fruit whipped cream cake is the best. ONLY this location can make the cake right - soft, moist, and tasty.

Bought pre-made wraps here twice and the lettuce was freezer burnt and still frozen! Not picking up lunch here anymore.

Very helpful staff along with a great selection of fresh fruits and veggies, a really fresh good fish and seafood selection and everything else you would expect at a grocery store

Staff is so helpful. Today I was just going to quickly get some things I needed but once I was holding some of the items I realized I'd need a cart. The person at customer service was so nice and went to the entrance and got a cart for me! Thank you so much!

11: 30 am Tuesday, not very busy, found everything but orange Zevia. Cashier very helpful with Airmiles question.

This store is awesome. The staff here are super friendly and they are always willing to lend a helping hand.

Always 5* as the customer service is great and the selection of Plant Based meats is on point! Including The Very Good Butchers made locally here on the island!

Love the store but i tryed to order food for delivery and your store didn't show up and for some strange reasons you don't deliver on Saturdays or Sundays I found this frustrating other then that I enjoy giving you my business thanks

There was a BIG mouse that ran across the floor while waiting in line at the cashier today (4 Jan 21). I alerted the cashier and she immediately jumped and was a bit scared for a few minutes until we told her it probably ran further away. She was still frightened so we waited until she calmed down.but it was unfortunately a LONG wait before she started scanning my first item since she also had to chase down the previous cashier to sign out of the computer. She did not alert the supervisor that there was a MOUSE IN A GROCERY STORE, at least not while we were there. This is a big health violation and should be taken seriously, and I hope it did and that management was informed. I will not be shopping at this location anymore.

I quite like this little grocery store. They admit they have a smaller variety than other locations but the service from all staff is exceptional!

I loved to shop at Thrifty store tuscany.clean and good merchandise I love the cashier nsme Kristen, and Claudia, and 1 asian guys forget his name.those guys are so friendly as always.

Want to buy some lunch and they wouldn't sell me one bum I make my own sandwich out of my chicken and macaroni no flexibility there won't go back

Don’t advertise that you’re open until 10pm if you shut your doors at 9.50pm. Lazy & poor management.

It's really no different from any other grocery store. The location is quite convenient and you can get most things you want there.

Thriftys at Tuscany village is an appealing little store that has lots of prepared foods for those looking for quick meals. These prepared foods give it a pleasant aroma. It is situated in an interesting outdoor mall area. The prices at Thriftys are almost always higher than other grocery stores.

The staff need more training on social distancing. I had multiple members of the staff walk far too close to me and other customers. Also, the store layout needs work, the arrows that tell you what direction you should go down the isles need to be bigger or there should be staff directing people where to go - it was pretty chaotic. Plus the one security guard was standing in a spot on the sidewalk that gave people two options: walk too close to him, or walk on the road (like I did) to keep a safe distance.

It wasn't Safeway, Sobeys, or Save on Foods, yet somehow still similar? Basically they haven't reinvented the grocery store yet so its what you would expect (:

I Love shopping at Thrifty's my only complaint is parking. The parking lots at Fairfield, Tuscany Village and Saanich Plaza can n be busy and tight to get in and out of.

The layout is somewhat different than most Thrifty Foods stores. But they have everything you may need.

Took the family out for dinner. The service was lacking with no follow up check after our meal was delivered, no asking us if we wanted drink refills (another beer would have been nice), and no request for a desert order, so we bought desert at Thrifty Foods instead. The food was mediocre. The gravy on the poutine was runny and made the fries soggy, and the kids grilled cheese sandwich was made with a bland processed cheese.

The underground parking is pretty handy here, especially in the rain. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Over priced. While quality and service is good for the most part, I only shop at thrifty foods if I can't get a certain product someplace else.

I wish we had a Thrifty Foods in the Okanagan. They are well-designed and aesthetically pleasing stores. They have pretty much everything you could want. Friendly staff. A little insane over Christmas but still a place worth going

This location is quite small (both size and selection) and parking is a nightmare unless you use the underground lot.

Was open late and found what I needed. Would hv been better if they had some hot foods available for those needing a quick warm dinner.

The best grocery store all around on Vancouver Island. Although the price reflects the customer service. But you get what you pay for.

Thrifty's combines a nice shopping experience with decent prices. As a student, it provides both ingredients to make meals at home as well as pre-made meals including salads, pasta dishes, soups etc.for when you're busy schedule doesn't leave you time to make dinner

They lost my order for entertainment trays, thank goodness I called 2 days before the event to amend my order and caught there mistake. Then when I arrived at the store to pick the trays up on the morning of the event, the trays weren't ready. They tried to get us to pay for the trays for a second time because someone forgot to mark the trays as "paid for. " Then I had to go on a wild goose chase to get my receipts.

I do appreciate the way it's set up like a Tuscan market, but with all the things I have come to count on from Thrifty's.
Thrifty foods is consistent all over and I get as much as I can on sale.

Cashier Satra claimed the til was "breaking down" and then went on to ring another customer through. So one thing must be true, Thrifties technology is faulty or she lied.
