Best sushi in Vancouver, the food is amazing and the staff are great. The place is a bit smelly. But overall 5Stars for sure!

I absolutely love this place! I went this place with my parents last night, and it was awesome the foods were good especially rolls! I loved the service too! Definitely will visit again!

Very saddened by today's visit. The size of the meals and sushi rolls have shrunk significantly! The rice in bento box comprised of about 5 tablespoons! Not a gross exaggeration. The vegan mango sushi (btw it has deep fried yam that is NOT vegan, but fried in same oil as seafood etc) was sparse. One piece just had 2 small pieces of beets in it. I've had this dish 3 times in the past and I know what the taste and appearance should be. Even the shredded beets on top was scarce. The beef bento box someone else at the table ordered had raw vegetables under the beef which is typically pan fried. Only 4 pieces of California roll, normally there is 6 to 8 pieces. The cost went up to triple or more and portions decreased to below single value. Unfortunately, we won't be returning in future.

Also, the heat is never turned on. Even the sweet lady who took our order layered up in a big fleece coat even though she's moving around so imagine how patrons sitting fir over 30 minutes feel.

Our total was $61 something. For this experience, it was not worth what I paid.

I’ve been going here for nearly a decade, every single time the food and service has been wonderful. Consistency like that is rare.

Found a cockroach in my food. This wouldnt have been a problem if they had given me another dish but they wouldnt replace the food. Horrible management.

This is my favourite local sushi spot! The food is great, definitely try the Tuna Bites. My favourite dish is the Dragon Roll! All staff are very pleasant, a very welcoming experience.

Of all the sushi places I’ve ever eaten at, no one has been able to make better yam rolls. Todai is my favourite for yam rolls, Avocado and cucumber rolls, avocado and salmon rolls and inari! 100% love this place for all the foods!

I am editing my review from 3 yrs ago for the current situation. I do not recommend this restaurant anymore. The ownership seems to have changed hands, as all the people are different. The once friendly attentive staff/owners are now cold and indifferent. Isn't one normally greeted on the way in and way out in a small sushi restaurant?

The normally cozy but tidy place had boxes all over, and the sushi counter was covered in stacks of take out containers, you can't see the chef, or even sit at the counter anymore.

The food was not the quality we were used to there, and when asked we pointed out the enedibly teriyaki jello (the sauce was quite firm you could say), the server said "that is just starch, you don't like it? " And then she giggled and walked away when we said no.

The maki were rolled poorly and fell apart, the tempura was oily and soggy, and the veggies under the teriyaki were undercooked and cold.

The only things we enjoyed was the beer.

Spend your sushi dollars elsewhere.

I wish I got a picture! The salmon tempura roll was killer. It was the first time trying such a roll and now this will be a staple each time we place an order from here. Delicious! Will pass on the agedashi tofu though, wasn't that great.

This place is awesome awesome awesome, if it ever closed down I would literally cry. So many good meals here throughout high school and in through Uni. There's this one particular waitress that is just the human definition of kindness. Y'all gotta try their Gyozas!

Went with my boyfriend on family day, and they were so sweet! Helped us with our damp jackets, very attentive and kind, and they genuinely had the best sushi we have had in some time. Will definitely be back.:)

Have come here for years was the best sushi until recently have gone and both times the quality has been garbage the chicken karage was raw 3 times in a row and they then argued it was fully cooked while it was clearly red/pink throughout

I usually had lunch at this place during 2013 and 2014 and I really enjoyed their sushi: very tasty, plenty of soy sauce available and very good prices. After 8 years, I came back to Vancouver and decided to eat at this place again, and to my surprise, quality is still as good as I remembered! Avocado and salmon rolls are delicious. I find crazy that I hate 16 avocado rolls and 6 salmon rolls for 15 dollars. These prices and this quality is nowhere to be seen in Europe

We’ve been regulars here eating in or taking out at least once a week. The last time we did dine in - they gave us an extra roll when our food came to the table. We tried waving down staff so it can be corrected but the staff was so busy making sure they clear tables and get in more customers. We decided to eat and they can correct the issue when they come to the table. We ate the food we ordered and let the staff know. She came and actually took the roll away from the table. We were shocked, and really hoped the roll doesn’t go to someone who orders that next. It sat at our table for almost 20 minutes with us breathing over it. I hadn’t finished my miso soup and that she took away as well and dropped off a bill. It seemed like we were being rushed out so someone else can be seated.

Today we just ordered take out and realized that a few extra rolls were added to our order and were were charged extra. Called in and let them know and hoped they can give us credit for the extra rolls. She had asked us to return to the restaurant with the rolls so we drove back from our house. We won’t be retuning to this place now as this has happened twice and I don’t feel comfortable having my rolls possibly be given to other customers and returned.

Their fish is actually quite good. Sushi rolls are really tasty and the owner is a very nice lady!

Quality has diminished significantly. Takeout rolls have shrunk in size. My cone was mostly rice with a tiny piece of fish. I won't go back.

I had ordered some sushi before hand and when I went there they told me they have never gotten my order, it was very frustrating because I had made it there on time.

Ordered skip the dishes from here tonight! Best sushi I have had in awhile! Everything was fresh and yummy. 10/10

Fantasic suchi for a cheap price, quick and reliable if you are in the area. Not much seating inside but you are able to order ahead and pick-up inside.

My husband and I eat there at least once a week if not twice, we find the atmosphere very relaxing and the prices are excellent! The food is awesome! We highly recommend the teriyaki chicken!

Went here again recently for the dinner box for takeout. Satisfied as always - food tasted good, great portion, priced right, great value!

Always delicious and fresh. I told my daughter I brought her sushi, but not from the place close to our house. She was skeptical, but then realized it was Todai! She was so happy! I didn't get a pic because the food smelled so good, we had to dig in.

One of the better sushi restaurant in Delta. I have been to many and this sushi restaurant is not only superior in its food but also its service. The staff are always friendly and there is almost never a wait. Myself being a waitress and working in a restaurant i can be critical but at Todai sushi it is never a disappointment. The sushi chef is friendly and always smiles. I recommend it to all my friends and family.

Typical sushi restaurant. Nothing special or done particularly well. Has plenty of options so everyone can get something they like though.

Writing this review from another Sushi restaurant. This is the best sushi in Delta. We keep trying other places and keep realizing how good Todai is. It'll keep being our Friday date night spot as long as they keep that awesome vibe and delicious food!

Best sushi place in delta. Tea is yummy and not watered down. Service is fast. Nigiri and sashimi so tasteful. No rolls disappointed us. Seating is limited inside, only downside but you can order online which is very user friendly and food is ready in 15 minutes.

Friendly owners and staff, food is always good. We have been going there for years and stopped trying other sushi places in the area years ago. Dont let the small size fool you, good quality food always.

Best sushi ive ever had. Eat in or take out it's consistent. The ingredients are important with sushi. They always have the best sashimi.

Small Japanese restaurant in North Delta that offers excellent variety. Love their sushi and dinner combo vegetarian meal. The service was excellent. Worth going back to.

This is an awesome Sushi place east of Fraser, more so because there are barely any others in the neighborhood. Will rate the ambience ok, the location is convenient and there is ample parking. They do not deliver.

Was given horrible service by the man and woman serving/taking orders. I went with two of my friends to look at their menu and order take out, and they've completely disregarded us and acted as if they needed us out of their way ASAP. While my friend was ordering with her debit card, the man took over her transaction and pressed the buttons on the card machine to get her to hurry up. They showed no compassion and did not acknowledge us at all. The man eventually got up and told us to wait OUTSIDE of the restaurant "because it's friday", and did not ask anyone else waiting for their order to leave. The place wasn't even that busy at the time. We stood outside until the lady handed us our food, and when we expressed our disappointment with the service we received, she said "OK got it", waved us off, and went back inside before we could finish speaking. We've received very uncomfortable, rushed, and disrespectful service while coming to this restaurant multiple times before, but this experience definitely pushed it for me. Never returning to this restaurant again!

The food and overall price is good but some of the staff are really rude which just ruined the expierence of being there.

Out of the hundreds of sushi places I’ve tried in my lifetime, Todai has the best sushi I’ve ever had in my entire life. All their sushi is rolled to perfection, with so much flavour and fresh ingredients. Be sure to try their spicy mayo along with your sushi, it’s amazing. Wish I could give this place more than just 5 stars.

Pretty decent sushi place in Delta! Nice cozy place with lot of options to choose from. I deducted one star as we did a take out and one of the dish we got was not exactly what we ordered for but we didn't complaint either. Overall food was good and a variety of choice and they have got ramen too. Probably one of the only few places who have ramen in their menu!
