After frequenting Tokyo Allure for several years, I am surprised to have yet leave a review!
Firstly, I must commend the entire team of hair stylists, each displaying exceptional skill.
Today, I always book with Tomo and while I am tempted to gate-keep my stylist, I can not help but express why she is my favourite! Tomo is sweet and her consistent impressive service make every appointment a delight.
My hair consistently emerges fresh and stylish after each visit.
The team at Tokyo Allure is not only talented but also remarkably attentive, taking the time to understand and fulfill your preferences.
Despite residing in Coquitlam, I willingly make the journey to Richmond because their service is simply unmatched.

I've been wanting to try this salon for years, and finally booked an appointment today. I was tired of my long hair and Kaori did a great job cutting and styling my hair into a short/slightly medium style! Will come again one day, thank you:)

I have been going here for nearly a decade and their stylists really do make you feel welcome and special! Makoto and Tomo have been my go to stylists and they never miss!

My hairdresser is Takashi. First time I went there for bang cutting only, he gave me some suggestion for my hairstyle, it did make sense soI booked the another hair cut right away. It took 1 hour for him to trim my hair, very thoroughly and detail oriented, my hair looked much lighter and fits well. Thanks Takashi. Highly recommend!

Update: the store manager and the owner contacted me multiple times to apologize and offered compensation. At least they’re trying to fix the issue.

Very disappointing as a first time customer. I booked an appointment 2weeks ago, and thought I would have a haircut just in time for a Xmas event. When arrived, they told me I had no appointment and turned me away! And they kept saying if I mistakenly called another salon instead of this location. Excuse me, I still had the date and time I called them on my phone!

Will NOT come back! I was even thinking of taking the entire family here for haircuts as we live close by. They won’t have our business for sure.

Ayuko was wonderful! I came unprepared without a picture of the hairstyle I would like to have. I told Ayuko that I would like to have a bob cut but not too short. She quickly pulled out her phone and started searching for pictures that resemble the length and the kind of cut I wanted. She showed me a picture of her definition of "short" hair vs my definition of "short" hair and she would make sure I was happy with the length before we proceeded with the cut. Ayuko was very skillful! I was in and out within an hour and that already included shampoo, massage and blow dry. I'd highly recommend Ayuko!

Great thank to Mitsu for this lovely haircut. He was patient and nice when discussing the hairstyle. I showed him the photo of my desired style and he had made it!

Thanks Makoto for giving me an awesome hairstyle with advice on daily care. I neither had idea about hairstyles nor knew how to care for my hair previously. Other than giving me a nice an clean haircut, she gave me some good suggestions of how to use hair gel as well as using shampoo when showering through conversations during the haircut. It was a pleasant experience and would consider revisiting!

I had a desire to have blonde hair for a long time but I couldn't decide to do that easily because of damage to my hair. But my hairdresser, Tomo, made me very satisfied with the result that it couldn't damage much and the colours were perfect for what I wanted to have. I highly recommend visiting her if you are struggling with your hair and I definitely visit her again when I needed to! Thank you!

I went to Tokyo Allure Hair studio for a hair cut this afternoon, and got the hairstyle I wanted. My hair stylist is Miki. She is very friendly and patience. Highly recommended.

I went for a hair cut. I wanted a inverted bob with some layer in the front. And i got the style just how i like it. I've tried many places before and i always got something different. So I'm glad i tried this place. My hairstylist named Miki. She is very nice and friendly. She used scissors to cut my hair and I really like this [because I had been to places where they used razor instead. It makes my hair end sharp and feels itchy when poking on my neck. ] I have alot more hair than average people and she was very patient and thorough. She did it small portions at time and keep checking the length to make sure its even and to the length i wanted. Loved the experience. I will definitely come here again for my next hair cut.

Aya did an incredible job with my hair. I have moved to 3 different cities, and always looking for the best hair stylist. 7 hairstylists later, I finally found someone that knows how to cut my hair so that it feels flowy, settles nicely with minimal to no styling, and feels healthy again. I have bleached my hair for over 15 years now and after her bonding treatments my hair finally feels like it was when I was 20 years old. The way she colored my hair did not sting my sensitive scalp at all, and I love the color! I like to do bold colors, but it takes an artist to make it still look like hair and not a cheap wig. She knew exactly how to handle my thick, damaged, bleached hair (with a history of multiple different colors). Rejoice! I finally found the hair stylist that I have been searching for. Bonus- she is sooo sweet and polite.

Went for permanent straightening. They left one whole strand. When i went again and ask them if they can fix it. Guy did not show any interest and his response was i am busy. They never called me again to fix it. Wasted 230$.

Tokyo allure is one of the best salons I’ve been to. I’ve gotten my hair bleached and dyed at many salons prior, and they’re the only ones who have left no damage to my hair. They provide careful and thorough consultations to ensure they give you the right results without comprising your hair’s health. I go to Aya all the time and she is the best!

I like my Japanese stylish perm which makes me younger and energetic. This shop is a Japanese hair salon and the staff are all Japanese. Master Kaori is very nice and had a very good communication before hair cut and perm. She is very experienced and gave lots of good ideas. My hair now is so fancy and so fashionable! I got a hair cut one year ago, the stylist cut a wonderful hair for me! Look exactly like Aragaki Yui！but as I didn’t live in Richmond, I went to another place several months ago and it was a disaster. My friend recommended Kaori, and she did a perfect job today! Actually it is the best experience for me to get a hair cut!
I will only go here in the future!

I had my hair done by Mitsu and he has done an exceptional job. Great attention to detail, aesthetics, and warm customer service. I highly recommend it.

I booked $55 haircut, as per website, the director would be my hairdresser. I was very disappointed after hair cut. She didn’t even dry my hair and she told me it’s done. I had to tell her to do so. My hair become more difficult to take care after she did so many layers.

I got my hair done by their master stylist Kaori today. She helped me with straightening perm, dying roots, applying treatment and layering haircuts. I can assure everyone that she’s one of the best hairdressers I’ve ever met and I am so glad I found her! Kaori is so patient, friendly and bubbly that I had a very pleasant experience here for the first time. I really want to thank Kaori for the phenomenal work ️.

My go to hair salon for Asians, really understand how the what face shape is suitable for which type of hair cut and skin tone/ hair colour matching. Appointment only I would say but they do accept you if it's small just trim or minor style, not like updo or anything that requires heat tools.

I was looking long and hard for a very skilled stylist to do my Japanese straightening treatment and finally took a plunge and chose Harry. I drove all the way from Seattle and let me tell you it was the best decision of my life!
I know I was a client who was asking for a lot but Harry willingly and patiently looked at what I asked for and was able to go above and beyond and deliver. I asked for a layered cut, straightening treatment, and color - this entire process took close to 5-6 hours and diligently Harry worked on my hair. He is truly a stylist who wants the best outcome for his clients and his skill is worth driving a country over. I've received so many compliments on my hair and he gave me the hair of my dreams - I was so very pleased. The customer service at the salon is fantastic starting from front to finish.

Thank you so much Harry for taking so much time with this client! Trust me, this is someone you can walk into the salon with and can deliver the expectations you have. Best salon experience of my life.

First time here and it was a great experience. The cost was fairly priced, and I loved my haircut done by Ryo. I came in with no idea whatsoever about the haircut I wanted, and walked out with the best haircut I’ve had in years!

I usually go to a different salon but booked at Tokyo Allure because my friends had hair appointments here and they had an availability. Wow, 11/10. Miyuki was a wealth of knowledge about hair care. She looked at my hair and had some suggestions for care. My hair looks fantastic. I asked for an effortless style because I’m lazy with my hair and she delivered 110% I didn’t even need to show her a photo or anything. I would recommend booking with Miyuki.

Made an appointment for a perm. Because I have a slight highlight at the tail of my hair so my hairstylist suggested me not to perm because it will really damage my hair. Love how they not only give us great style but also care about our hair condition! At last, I had a haircut and I love it

Makoto did a great work on my hair. I haven't styled my hair for 3 years and want to try short hair style. I made a appointment with Makoto and she consulted with me in advance to see which style I would like to go with. Then when it came to my appointment, she did some research already by showing me the photos she thought would suit my style. She is very patient, sweet and careful. She constantly checked with me and discussed with me if this was something I want. I did both cut + digital perm and I am very pleased with the result.

Have tried different stylists here. All are very friendly and listen to what you want. The quality of their dyes are really good and dont wash out.

Quality is great relative to the price. Skill of Japanese stylist is not just for show. Be sure to find the stylist you like after a few visits.

I’ve been coming to Tokyo Allure for many years now and I would highly recommend getting your haircut done by Harry.

Harry has definitely demonstrated consistency and accuracy when it comes to getting the perfect hairstyle that you want.

I’m sure everyone has shown pictures of the hairstyles that they want to their hairstylists and most of the times it wouldn’t turn out the way that they would want it to be. This was never the case with Harry as he will do his best in achieving the perfect hairstyle that his clients want.

Remember to book your appointment ahead of time as he gets really busy these days. And also haven’t tried perm? Try it with Harry! He is a genius!
