I recommend Tom Lee Richmond for band instrument repairs. Although their technician (Howard) doesn't work in the store, so you can't chat with him when you drop off your instrument, he gets back to you quite soon to discuss the work. And his work is very good - after a routine maintenance (including ultrasonic cleaning) my horn looks (and works) like new!

I reserved a Technics Turntable came in 3 hours later, walk in the door 3 people said hello and William help me right away he has very good knowledge of everything first time buying at Tom Lee Music and won’t the last excellent service I’m very impressed could have given 6 stars ️

Sent my clarinet to Howard for a service maintenance and it couldn't be more happier with it.

Great service at Tom Lee Music Richmond! We went in with an old violin, thinking it needs a new bow. Eric our representative is super patient explaining the condition of our violin, and provide a few viable short term and long term option for us to choose from. He is also very knowledgeable about other departments in his store, which helps when my daughter needs to get a new Ukelele in the future. Thank you Eric and the team for your great service! Masterful Tom Lee repair technician, Howard Lee, recently worked on my trumpet and on a number of instruments from my school music program. He went way above and beyond to get a replacement part for my trumpet and to get the school instruments repaired and returned quickly so students could resume playing them. One of the top music stores in Lower Mainland. The manager Will is the most considerate and knowledgable professional I've ever met, and every one and each staff in this store is purely good people. I'd recommend this place to everyone, over and over.

The customer service in this store is no good，swindle！！They told me I could get free membership if I continued until September，In September I was told I had to pay a membership fee！！？How can there be such a bad school

Came in to buy a 3/4 size guitar and didn't really know what to get. Will was the one who helped guide me a little through the process - he was super friendly and knowledgeable! The selection of guitars is massive, so I was glad he was there to guide me through the process and answer a bunch of my questions.

I left with a nice little Yamaha guitar and a soft case and some Dunlop picks! Very happy overall. Highly recommend going in and just asking questions if you're music-curious.

Good experience with purchasing the piano and the professional headphone, however, the sales from the book section give you very bad attitude! I will not recommend my friends going there.

That is where I passed my introductory exam and the judge there is very chilled. The music class for singing is very recommended for children is for kids to have fun and learn to sing just to be happy and relaxed.

I bought a new electric guitar here one month ago, they gave me good price and good service, I will buy from them again.

We've always had good experiences there. Either through music lessons for the kids or buying music instruments and accessories. The staff are very patient and more than happy to go through any questions you have. The most recent visit, we went through many guitars (a gift) and Alexander played each guitar, went through all the good and bad points in great detail. We were not pressured to buy.but we ended up buying one of the guitars he recommended. Very happy!

I had a synthesizer shipped from this store in Vancouver to Toronto, Ontario. Mark was very helpful throughout the whole process and I was very happy with how fast my instrument arrived. Would shop again!

Spent two full days shopping for pianos in Vancouver and Richmond. By far the most help was Mark at Tom Lee Richmond. He is incredibly knowledgable about pianos, particularly digital pianos which I was shopping for. He is a talented musician and exactly the type of person to talk to when shopping for digital pianos. He keenly explained technical concepts in a well spoken manner, and I can't recommend him enough. If you are looking for a piano, start your search with Mark at Tom Lee Richmond

Buddy and I were looking for some equipment and the staff were incredibly helpful, got us exactly what we needed and gave us some good tips. Will definitely be coming back!

Asked the lads about getting rid of the brown & green tarnish (nickel oxide) on the frets of an electric guitar. They told me to "use steel wool to get rid of rust". Yes steel wool inches away from the pickups. They even said that that's what they do. Are you trying to ruin people's guitars? Terrible advice and it came from two employees not just one who was unsure but wanted to pretend he wasn't.

My son had years of drum lessons with Tom Lee and all those years and until now, we find the staff very friendly, courteous, helpful and approachable. They are excellent in customer service! We have bought drums, piano and guitars from them and these instruments are very much useful to us until now. Thanks to Eric and Mark and the other 2 guys infront (don't know their names) who assisted us. They all deserve thumbs up.

Tom Lee Richmond has been my "go to" store for many years. I have purchased countless items from their courteous and helpful staff. Frankly, I find many of the harshly critical comments in this section very unusual. My experience has been first-class and I would highly recommend them as the preeminent music stores in the area.

Bought a piano there and when it came home there were white paint markings on the one of the boards, embedded within the polish. Yes the piano was made in China. But people should have checked it.

There's better service down the road!

I have always been a fan of Tom Lee. Before coming to Canada, I was a loyal customer to Tom Lee Hong Kong. They always have great services, the staff was knowledgeable and the store variety was great. Bring up a Tom Lee HK store and I am proud to give it a good 5 star. This was not the case for Richmond.

Story was like this: Me + Family was looking for a digital piano that is well-suited for practise, fits in with furniture and doesn't exceed $2000. The staff didn't seem to notice us. They rejected our request for them to go through some models. Some staffs were too busy talking to friends or showing off expensive concert grands.

We waited there for 20 minutes assuming that they were busy with clients. And as a newcomer, I didn't know much about how instrument shopping is like. 20 minutes later, the staff still didn't talk to us and the only greeting was the guy in the front.

I was and still is very disappointed. Especially considering how caring and great the service was like at the Downtown store. I am now a frequent to Long-Mcquade and I love the experience there

FOR TOM LEE: For better or worse, all customers should be treated the same. Just because our small budget or limited knowledge wastes time of the employees, we should get the same service.

I rented a Clarient for 2 years and the man gave me a paper there was also a cheaper version of the clarinet brand new and he also showed me how to build it properly great service he knows my main language and English

Cant reach the only person in charge for rental which is Amy Lee. Tried to call for a week but it's always voicemail

Very bad customer service. Their books are labelled in UK pricing and when asked what the CAD prices are and why wouldnt they label them in CAD, the caucasian white manager, who made me felt discriminated and stupid, said that it is not necessary to relabel them in CAD as it will take them too much time and cost to relabel them. It makes me wonder if its illegal in Canada to price your products in other currencies without a CAD price tag on.

Terrible experience, terrible and rude piano sales people. Why are you hiring these people? We can shop online and pick up at store.
