Torafuku

Can never go wrong here. We tried the new omakase with the duck set. It was the perfect amount of food, very filling. My favorites were the scallop crudo and the duck rillete. There seemed to be some vietnamese inspiration for this menu (oxtail, nutty salad, coffee tiramisu, pâté). Really smart and delicious creations. And of course the staff are always attentive and kind.

We had a great time and the set menu was quite delicious. If you decide to have dinner earlier you can get on the tailend of happy hour (ends 5: 30 pm) for cheaper drinks, which were really good.

Torafuku was a very nice place. The interior was very spacious and the utensils were very organic themed.

The menu was pricey though, even for happy hour. But the food was very good. We were disappointed that the tasting menu was only allowed if everyone at the table ordered it. We had 5 people, and it was $65 per person. No way we're we going to spend $325.

We eended up still spending that much since each item was $20+ and drinks were $15+.

If you want to come, maybe come with 1 or 2 people. Next time I might come with fewer people to make it more affordable.

A decent Taiwanese fusion spot with some good shareable menu items. Some of the dishes were a bit on the salty side, but overall pretty solid.

Took an hour to get our food
Gochujang chicken is extremely dry, even though they substituted chicken thighs instead of wings.
Had the black cod, bland and nothing special to bring out the flavour.
Ambience is mediocre.

Cake pick up, rude service. Wait was around 10minutes. Waiter asked for my name and gave me the cake. I asked if they need my confirmation number to double check. They said "you tell me if it's right" and walked away.ok.

Set menu at Torafuku on Main St. Vancouver. $65/pp

Appetizers:
- Apple salad with candied bacon and heirloom tomatoes
- Salad with grilled corn, and burrata
- Pork
- Tuna

Main:
- Three cup chicken and Chicken Fat Rice
Half Long Kang specialty free-range chicken, cucumber salad, Thai basil [DF]
- Chuck Steak with potatoes
AAA Canadian chuck tender, lemongrass marinade, Vietnam style coleslaw [GF][DF]

Drinks:
- GREENLAMBO ($14)
- MATCHA MADNESS ($13)

Dessert:
- Basque cheesecake
with seasonal fruit compote

Cons: disliked the chuck steak, it's not a good preparation of this cut of beef. Tough and chewy and hard to eat. Disliked the heirloom tomatoes some pieces were overripe and tastes mushy.

Pro: tasty cheesecake, really good drinks!? Fast service as the kitchen was organized. Potato salad has Asian inspired flavours. My favorite is the pork. Chicken is tender and everything else was good.

Street parking, paid.

Took my girlfriend here on a date and had their anniversary omakase and ended up picking the chicken option. The service here is great until there's an issue, at which point the server very quickly shut me down after I mentioned that the chicken leg was pink and tasted raw, saying it couldn't possibly be raw since they sous-vided it for two hours. If your chicken tastes and looks raw, for the price you're asking, it's not a good dish and you should serve something that's actually appetizing. The rest of the dishes were nice, but there are better options for omakase in town.

I don't know why I tipped. Spent $200 in total.

My family has been going to Torafuku for their omakase menu for several years and sadly we will not be going again after this experience. Food was pretty good - but not outstanding like it used to be. Also - portions were too small - we all left hungry. Not what you expect after a $400 meal for 4 people (omakase and 1 drink each) Service was really not great - very slow (over 2.5 hours) and a few dishes were cold by the time they got to us. I called before posting this review to discuss the meal and was not called back. Really disappointed as this used to be an awesome spot.

We had a pretty great experience while dining at Torafuku. Food was very tasty and the service was excellent. The ambiance (or lack there of) was a little plain. Not much music, too bright and not a lot of lighting design. Their cocktails are good too. I would recommend this place to a bigger group. We went in on Saturday night and it just seemed so empty and lonely. A tad boring IMO. Other than that, highly recommend.

We had a nice meal here. The Hot Smoked Salmon was perfectly plated with a mini pullman loaf and house made creme fraiche. We enjoyed the Brussels Sprouts dish, it came with cauliflower and broccoli as well, with crispy quinoa. The vegetables were cooked just right and not burnt. The stuffed prawn mousse in the zucchini blossom was delightful. Our final dish was Magic Mushroom 2.0 which came in a thick broth. Dessert was another story – the dark chocolate ganache was too dense and so sweet that I wish I hadn't allowed it in my stomach, the graham crust was like melamine. The service was excellent and each dish was timed perfectly. We will be back, but not necessary with friends as there wasn't enough variety of dishes for a table of four to have an exciting sharing time.

Food was great, server was great and vibe was great too. The seating was tight at the long table which both my friend and I felt constraint. We are 6ft and 6ft + tall guys. The only reason I marked down on the value was because we were debating between omakase special $65/pp and a la carte and realized it’s actually cheaper when we order a la carte and get to choose what we want. End up around $59/pp + tax and tip (5 appy 2 main & shared among 3 of us) and it was filling.

Conclusion: its worth going again, this time I might put our height on the special note for special seating accommodation.

Was there for Thanksgiving dinner. Pretty spacious and brightly lit decor. Good atmosphere for easy conversations (no loud background music competing with you ;) Asian fusion dishes with detailed decoration and good flavor balance. A bit steep on pricing - good for a fancy night out/date

Torafukus flavor combinations are so perfectly balanced and unique, I was enthralled by every new dish that came to our table. We got the spring tasting menu with duck and it did not disappoint. From the plating to the flavors, everything was excellent. I would definitely come back to try their tasting menus every time I am back in Vancouver.

Always great food with unique recipes. Both dine in and take out are great. Highly recommend the brussel sprout salad and the roast duck, but everything is excellent.

A friend and I came here for lunch today (1st time). My friend got the pork belly bowl and I got the crispy chicken bowl; we were both very pleased with our choices. The prices were reasonable and the customer service was very good as well! Will be back sometime in the future:).

I highly recommend it! One of my favorite places in Vancouver to have really good PAN-ASIAN food! I usually go for the Brussels sprouts and the roasted duck.

Everything I have tried is just delicious so you can't go wrong with your order!

The service and the service are amazing. The place could have better looks and ambiance though.

You gotta eat lunch here if you’re gluten-free. OMG, the bowl #5 is to die for! Fried (yes FRIED!) chicken on crack salad and rice with a perfectly poached egg? ! Drool.
The staff is wonderful, the drinks are fun and the food is heavenly.

So yummy and delicious vegetarian options. The staff are so great as well, we really enjoyed our dinner there and felt very covid safe!

The ingenious mind mix that is at this place! Superb cocktails to start the night off well and then my mind was blown by the most amazing food! Also to top it off we had wonderful friendly and professional service. I already want to go back to try all the other drinks and food. Wow!

Wow! What an amazing selection. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was excellent from start to finish. The small portions were just right. We were worried that it wasn't going to be enough but the main and dessert was perfect. Tasty and just really well done with excellent service. We also tried some of the cocktails and they were delicious. Can't wait to try another tasting menu!

Came here for lunch after reading the reviews online. Everything we ordered tasted amazing from the food to the cocktails. We'll definitely be coming back to try out the rest of the menu!

As a gift to new parents this week, I ordered 3 family meals and some frozen vegetarian dumplings from the Torafuku@Home menu. The delivery option was fantastic and convenient. From the feedback I received, the recipients indicated the food was delicious (fresh). They were impressed with the great combination of items within the meals, and the meals were efficiently packaged for finishing at home. Great value. Overall, the recipients were grateful that they were able to enjoy such delicious food at home from Torafuku during their first week as parents. Thank you for stepping out of the box and being creative and resourceful during this time of the pandemic. You prove that you are masters of the comeback.
