Torrid

My cousin and I went in to shop and no one greeted us, no one asked if we needed help. We had a lady come over to where we were but never talked to us.
My sister came in after us and the same lady greeted her.
When we were checking out, the cashier didn’t say anything.

Visited this store is guildford center today with my mother looking for plus size maternity clothes. The sales girl was very rude and repeated to us multiple times that they are a plus size store not maternity. Basically implying we were stupid. The website has maternity clothes on it. I really didn’t appreciate being talked to like I was asking for something ridiculous and didn’t understand the difference between plus size and maternity.
I’m sorry but plus size girls get pregnant too and it’s very hard to find clothes when you don’t know your size as your body is changing everyday.
Maybe next time lose the attitude and be kind to people simply asking a question.

I guess I had higher hopes for this store. I gained some weight and the promise was for stylish plus sized clothing for bigger shapes. The problem was that there was not a huge selection and the sizes were often quite a bit larger than I am. Now, that being said, I am large enough that I have no choice but to shop plus sized. So, this is a canundrum. I mean, I guess it can be taken as a compliment that I am not plus-sized enough for this store, but I am just sad. My other options for shopping are less stylish. The attendant did say that there was going to be a South Surrey and Abbotsford store opening soon. Perhaps, those will have more floor space and more selection.

Nice clothes prices are way too high. Went in there for a 50% off racks sale that I went to look at and found clothes that had lower prices and then higher prices on top of the lower prices and I assume they did that for the sale not a very honest business practice and I think it's also garbage that when you order off their website you pay in American

In the 1 hour spent in the store with a friend, not one employee asked if I needed help. I'd rather not spend my money where I'm not valued as a customer.

Gave me shoes that were two different sizes and both the same foot, and then refused to refund me because I had passed the return period. Will never shop here again.

Love being able to go and shop comfortably *in person* knowing I will find things that fit. There is enough of a style range that I'll usually find something up my alley. HOWEVER, the prices are way too high for the quality. There are always deals, but they are still overcharging since the material is very low quality, pills, colours run, etc. Pants pill and get holes in the thigh almost instantly- for a plus size exclusive store, you'd think they'd consider thigh friction. Many items I've bought have essentially ended up being a one-time wear due to low quality.or they look good for one or two wears, then start looking raggedy. Very wasteful, both in the eco-sense and the $ sense.

I have a love/hate relationship with Torrid. Their employees have either really nice people working or people who seem to hate their job working there. Their shipments don't come on certain days it's at random so most of the time their size selection is not there. I like the convince of having plus size in the mall however their selection is poor quality, too high of price, and most of their selection is not cute. Plus last time I guess I had Torrid cash to use and they failed to tell me and now they've expired. You have to spend so much $ to get that Torrid Cash! Overall it's good for a quick pinch but that's about it. Pretty disappointing as a Plus Size Exclusive store

This is my main store but the price can be out there sometimes. However their clearance section is amazing

Love that I can get into boots that are made for big calves abd wide feet. Love this store curves are recommended here

As one of the few plus size stores still around, really disappointed in the lack of selection and sizes. And the prices are absolutely ridiculous. Just because us fat people have no other options doesn't mean it's okay to essentially rob us.

I love the idea to get inside and know that ill buy something fashion and not only boring clothes!

A great clothing store, that has sizes which actually fit as they say they are, unlike other stores that fail.

Their prices are high even on sale for what they're offering quality wise. Not much available I'm store compared with online, just disappointing as it's one of very few plus options around.

Always, always, always top notch customer service when I go here. Well worth the drive in from Vancouver for sure.

The purchasing at Torrid lacks diversity this season with all dresses being sleeveless or very short sleeved. The prices for clothes, even for inflated plus standards, are WAY too high.

At this location, the staff didn’t even greet me when I entered and were generally unhelpful.

Despite being a customer for YEARS, if this is the style selection and service I can expect from Torrid, I can’t justify shopping here anymore.

Didn't have what I wanted but I did find something. The lady from the fitting room was very helpful.

The torrid stores in Canada are befooling people. Their prices are marked in US dollars. That’s why they’re too expensive. Some stuff is good but overpriced for sure.

Shopped here multiple time's and every time I'm amazed that I find something that fits so well. Amazing staff that are kind and always willing to help!

Rather expensive for what you're getting, the clothes kind of look trashy, or maybe that's just the style

The staff here were amazing, it was my first time in this store but 10/10 recommended for plus sized queens, a bit in the pricey side but is no Walmart plus sized section with ugly patterns, some really cute stuff and their selection of bras is way better then Victoria secret for anything over a C cup. 10/10 would recommend if you want to splurge on some cute clothes and are plus sized

I've always been a bigger person. I'm around a size 18/20 and it's difficult finding clothes that are cute. I have a love/hate relationship with my body and have struggled with disordered eating and my mental health.
Back in pre-pandemic life every few months my partner and I would drive down to Bellingham and go to the mall.one of the highlights was that I'd get to go to Torrid. The staff there were always friendly, and I could go in and find things in my size, and feel support and confident. It was a safe space for me.
This past Sunday I went to the one in Guildford. I hadn't been to that location before, but since the border is closed and I desperately needed summer shorts, and a bra I thought I'd check it out. I was really excited about it.
When I got there, something felt "off". My excitement was replaced by anxiety and it took me a few minutes to figure out why. I thumbed through two racks of shorts, the only ones they had, and I kid you not every single pair was a straight size 10. The smallest size the store carries. This store where I was supposed to be included and safe, and I felt like a whale.
I wandered around aimlessly for a bit, occasionally pulling some shirts off racks to try on. A woman who worked there (and was also, coincedentally, a size 10) came by a few times and whisked the shirts away to the fitting rooms. When she came back to whisk more items away I was over looking at bras. I wasn't sure what size I needed, so I asked her if for bra sizing for torrid if you are supposed to add 4 inches to your band measurement or not. She didn't seem to know what I meant, and said that their sizing was the same as any other store. I'm not sure if she meant torrid or other retailers? I clarified that I hadn't bought a bra from torrid before, and that I wanted to know how their sizing worked.

She responded that I probably needed to have my measurement taken. I said that was probably a good idea as I didn't know what size to get. Then told me that she wasn't good at it and that her coworker was better. She vaguely gestured in the direction of two employees behind the counter at the other side of the store, who were clearly helping other customers. No one was wearing name tags and I had no idea who she meant. She then walked away without another word, did not offer to grab anyone to help me since she wouldn't. I wasn't sure what to do since I didn't know who she wanted me to talk to or who could help me. I felt lost and frustrated and didn't know what to do. I had really needed the positive experience that I used to get from Torrid and instead I just felt like a was taking up space. When she walked away from me I started to cry because I just felt so disappointed and awkward. I didn't know what to do so I left. I don't think I'll be returning.

Doesn't have larger sizes and bad customer service! Just made people wait around for no reason when asking for help.

I had a terrible experience at this store (Gilford Centre, Surrey BC.) The workers at the store were extremely rude and not helpful. It was my first time shopping at a “Queen” size store and they had no interest in helping me find my size. Not once was I asked if I needed help or was finding what I needed. Even getting a change room seemed to inconvenience them. The workers at this store were spraying Febreeze all over the clothing and when asked not to, they said it was to help stop the spread of Corona virus (febreeze?) I won’t ever go back to this store. If I didn’t have friends to help me I would of left 5 minutes in. Terrible customer service. Terrible experience.

They staff are friendly and helpful. The prices are on the high end but right now if you buy 1 @ regular price the 2nd item is 50% off.

Ordered some boots online and love them. Ordered some bras in a size that they don't carry in-store and ended up returning all but 1 and lost out on the $40 I paid for shipping. Clothes here are very expensive so I'd recommend watching out for sales. The biggest thing I noticed the handful of times I've been here, is no one greets you when you come in or asks if you need anything. I've had many employees walk right past me without even a hello. I feel interacting with customers is a HUGE part of customer service and sales, I have never purchased anything in store for this reason.

This is a great store. The employees are always extremely helpful and sweet. I love the selection of clothes for bigger girls.

So disappointed with this store. I love torrid i the US so when I found out they finally had one here in Greater Vancouver (well Surrey to be precise) i was excited! I was finally able to get out to it since I live in Vancouver city, and it was a really opposite experience from the previous ones ive been to. Nobody greeted me at the door, no on helped or even offered to help even though i was there for a good while. Someone asked an employee about the sales which she proceeded to tell her but ended it with "you know u can just check the website right? " Why would u answer that way? Rude. Finally i found the bra i was looking for by myself and then there was no one at the till so i could pay, so i haf to go find one. When i finally did all she was ask if i was a member, and that was it. No costumer service whatsoever. Rather just visit the store in Bellingham whenever i get the chance I drive down south instead.

Good store, lots of nice clothes. Store and sizes were mixed up and a bit messy. Clerks do not wear tags or uniforms, so you don't know who they are. They don't welcome you, or introduce themselves. Had a terrible time trying to find a pair of boots. Person who checked us out was super helpful and professional

Came into the store yesterday and was greeted by everyone more than once. Everyone was very helpful. Store was clean and great selection of clothing. All the staff are just so nice. Keep up the great work ladies. I will definitely be back.

I know it's a newer store but they have been open for about 3 months now and I feel like the staff is still very unaware about the products and the company. I was just in there today and an employee was telling another customer that they don't ship to Canada when the banner on their website literally says $20 flat rate shipping to Canada and I ordered something from the website less than a week ago. How is it even possible to work for a company and not know something that basic. Also it's a lot larger store than the next closest store (Bellingham) but somehow there is much less selection.

FINALLY! I adore Torrid and have missed shopping here since moving back to the Vancouver area. This is a smaller location than I'm accustomed to, but a good variety of items and GREAT service!

I've been into the store twice now and seen different staff both times and I find them cold and not friendly. No one both times asked to take my clothes to a fitting room. I wasnt greeted untill a staff member almost ran into me. We were looking at bra sizes and one came to help. Torrid's prices are on the higher side for plus size so customer service should be better. They only just opened but I expected more.

Seriously the best torrid I've ever been to. The staff are awesome offering their opinions and suggestions. I'm blown away by this store! I wish I could remember the one lady that helped me because she was seriously incredibly but if you need plus size clothing that doesn't suck please come here!

Amazing selection! Even more amazing staff! I swear every Torrid I walk into (USA and Canada) the staff is above and beyond helpful and nice and make you feel like you're truly shopping with friends. SO grateful they finally opened a Canadian location so I can stop going down to the states lol

As a long time customer of this US brand, I have to say how impressed I was going into this Canadian store today. The place is beautiful and the displays are tres chic! A serious departure from the dark stores and see through tops of the past, I feel like Torrid has really blossomed into something special. Yay! The quality has really improved and I got lucky and visited on a sale day, so I practically tried on the whole store! Luckily, the change room staff (I think she said her name was Mo) was SUPER nice and gave me a lovely room to change in. She had tons of great information about the products and also gave me some great fashion advice that was truly helpful in completing my outfit. In the end, I left with several dresses, a few tops, and some accessories and I am thrilled. I will definitely be back!

The quality does not justify the price and, according to the manager, they have intentionally misleading signage. So a dress that looks like it's 40% off, is actually regular price. I won't be back. 0/5

I had the most amazing experience, the staff and i mean every single one greeted me. They offered amazing options we're super knowledgeable and friendly. Love this store will be back and bringing all my friends. Thanks ladies.
