Excellent sashimi!
Well-trained and extremely friendly service staff ensure that everything runs smoothly despite the large crowds (shortly after the restaurant opens at 4: 30 p.m.). In addition to the standards on the menu, the daily specials are also offered on a blackboard.
You can get mediocre stuff anywhere in Vancouver. Only a few places like Toshi Sushi have really good food. I would also take my Japanese girlfriend here without hesitation.

Definitely waited at least 45min- 1 hour but it is one of those places worth eating at! Make sure you show up in person to out your name on the list because it is only open from 5-9ish.

The host and servers are really nice and they seem to know regulars by name.

I am not a sushi lover but found ones that I enjoyed! It was very tasty!

Best sushi in the city! Fantastic Ora king salmon, Toro and rolls. California is wonderful.

GINDARA cod! You must get this. The sushi and miso soup are also amazing, but this cod was another level completely. Elevated.

Great authentic Japanese food. The staff are nice but you definitely feel that they are trying to rush you through.

The custard pudding is awesome, superb delicious! The texture is so smooth and taste bit like milk, remind me of Hokkaido milk. Most importantly, it’s not sweet, but just nice the flavor!

Thanks for so much for their recommendations of the dessert! From trying 1, ended up 4 in total!

The black cod is sweet and nice.

Seafood gyoza skin is thin and so crispy, the scallops in it so fresh and sweet.

Two men in the house finished 20 pcs of salmon + Tuna sashimi! They simply love the texture and the its unique taste so much!

There are only 5 tables and roughly 10+ seat at the counters, altogether probably 20+ seats. So it’s understandable for the an hour wait. Smaller groups of two seems to get their seats faster than the larger group.

The service are and the food worth the wait.

What a great experience! The menu has a separate section for vegetarian/vegan rolls. While simple, the avocado and vegetable rolls were delicious.

I loved the authenticity and family-run vibe. My complaint is the cuts of fish are quite small, and nigiri is expensive for just 1 small piece of fish. They do have a nice selection of Japanese fish, though! It’s very very small so expect a wait for seating.

I had salmon-tuna sashimi and nigiri-combo, it was perfect. Even the egg sushi was very soft. And staff members were very kind.

Great nigiri with fresh cuts. I loved the saba and the toro. The grilled miso eggplant was a highlight, delicious and fluffy. Service is friendly and quick, though it can get busy. If you don't want to spend time queuing, go early.

The food wasn't bad, but the rude and aggressive attitude of the waitress, Ann, totally ruined my mood. I sincerely regret going here.additional) paid twice but could not get a refund.

I recommend ordering the nigiri pieces separately as it's more fresh. The avocado set was really good. Did not like the nigiri set when I came in for the second time. Seating is very squishy. I still like coming back but would order separate pieces not sets.

Arguably the best sushi place in Vancouver.

No reservations, so you'll have to wait outside for a table. Trust me when I say this "It's worth the wait"

Ordered take out. It was on time, customer service was excellent! Small place but 100% authentic Japanese food. I ordered negitoro and spicy salmon avocado cones, box sushi, house roll - all incredibly fresh. No soya sauce needed! Soo good! This place is a must if you are looking for fresh top quality fish at a great price.

Three of us went on a week day and we got lucky to get a table in 10 mins. They started lining up afterwards. My friend said there is always a line up. The fish was fresh, service was good, n prices were still decent. It was a very good value for what we ate. When you walk in they point out the specials on the wall. I ordered the Sayori Sashimi 4 pieces for $23 phfft i wont do that again. So tiny the pieces so not worth it. If we didnt order this plus another $12 sake n $5 beer that we didnt need (alcoholic peep just orders up n tries to make you drink because he is an alcohol pusher) so take $40 off the bill it would have been $160 for 3 people. All 3 of us thought it was overall a very good quality sushi restaurant. No frills, no over the top take a picture presentation, just basic fresh sushi. The 15 piece assorted sashimi plate was only $33 a bargain! Ours came w butter fish. So good. Also they serve a califonia roll w real crab for 10 bucks. We tried the pineapple n passion fruit ice cream. It was very yummy! The pudding was meh dont bother. We would come here on a regular basis if there was no line up lol. This place is very small with limited seating.

We drive from Seattle just to have dinner here a few times a year. We come on Friday for dinner, rent a hotel, eat here again Saturday night before driving home. The sushi is perfect. The chefs knife skills are immaculate. The black cod is EVERYTHING. I considered a divorce the day my partner ate my last piece of black cod. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

One of my favorite sushi restaurants in Vancouver. Gets really busy, get there early.
I recommend the box sushi and the toro.

Yummy sushi. The box sushi, grilled squid, and chopped scallop sushi were very good. No reservations, only a few tables but it didn't take long.

Very high quality authentic sushi place run by Japanese. I find their prices to be more competitive relative some other authentic Japanese run sushi places, which are pushing $5 per Toro nigiri (I use Toro because come on, who doesn't like it?). As of this date, Toshi's Toro nigiri is $3.50 per piece. They also offer some other unique fish such as Kanpachi, Sawara, among others. The rice is top notch and fish is very high quality. Service is very good as you would expect from any Japanese run places (they only hire Japanese waitresses). Be prepared to wait though, as it is a popular place (for good reasons!).

Officially my favourite sushi restaurant in Vancouver. The quality of the sushi here is amazing and the price is very reasonable. Their miso glazed white fish is to die for and they sometimes have specific ingredients straight from Japan. The ratio of rice and fish for the sushi is also perfect. I was highly impressed by the food here.
The service is really good, although the restaurant itself is pretty small. They do not recommend group sizes larger than 4 people and it may be an extra long wait, I would advice to call ahead if you are visiting in a large group. Be warned that it is first come first serve and they do not take reservations. There is typically a wait to go in regardless of which evening you visit and I have had to wait an hour to get in. Probably one of the only restaurants where I’m willing to wait an hour to eat at. Last call is at 8: 30pm and if there is a line ahead of you, they might not let you sign up at that time.

Happened upon this place while walking in Mount Pleaseant. Hands down, best sushi I have had. Very nice servers.
