It’s about 20-mon drive from the ferry pier which makes it a good spot for a break if you’re setting off to the west of the island. Last month, we’ve stopped by on our way to Ucluelet and got lots of good information from Morgane. She’s suggested a couple of points of interests near Nanaimo, but most importantly, unpacked the highway shutdown schedule for us nicely. We’ve changed our plan as she advised and everything went out fine. We’re so grateful to her!
Wow as a local I can say I have never been in there. As an AirBnb cleaner I wanted to get some packages together to showcase our city! What a wealth of information in there not just local, British Columbia too! Friendly + helpful staff!
Nice place to pull over to stretch your legs, or have a picnic. A good sized parking lot, lots of green grass space, picnic tables, walking paths, surrounding the tourism centre.
My girlfriend and I were stopping by to get some information on hotels of all things, and the staff (Morgan, and Kaitlin, I believe) were very helpful. Thank you for the warm welcome to Nanaimo.
Great litter stop with grass and a view and washrooms. Washrooms were so-so as far as cleanliness but don't have to detour into the city to find a washroom and that's a bonus!
Devan and Jillian are two of the most awesome and knowledgeable people we ever had the pleasure of meeting. This is a must stop to give yourself the best opportunity to enjoy the most out of your vacation. We're so happy we stopped by and hope they are both valued by their employer because they are absolute gems who made us feel like family the second we walked through the door and made our vacation much better than we had planned.
Beautiful spot to stop and rest while on the massive trail. Offleash dog park, doggy fountain, restrooms, picnic tables, and wifi. What more do u need.
Bathrooms are lacking however better then nothing. Great place to start out on a bike ride up and down the parkway. Busy area so careful with all the tourists and dog walkers!
Friendly informative staff, well-organized presentation of materials, clean easily-accessible washrooms. Lots of parking, excellent access to extensive local cycling and walking trails. Lovely park area for mid-travel rest and picnics. Beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.
I'm going to get five stars to the staff we'll go out of their way to serve the public the city however of Nanaimo does not do a very good job in keeping the grounds clean
This location is small. I was in there for 10 minutes and didn't get any help. The employee was talking to a person about her B&B and their wracking fees. Which was okay but it would have been nice to be greated when I walked in the door. Overall it was just an okay experince.
This visitors' centre is well placed for travellers heading up and down the island.it also provides a rest stop. There is a large carpool parking lot adjacent. Staff are knowledgeable and informative.it is well worth the stop when you are Looking for information about Nanaimo or any other place on Vancouver Island.
It a good place to walk your dog get into internet and me3y people who don't know directions. Lot of parking usually and if you know about Nanaimo.you can see some old mines over the edge going north on the trail. Bathrooms aren't open all the time but clean when they are open.
