Our tour was an excellent complement with our visit to Graceland. John gave us some great stories and background along with a visit to Sun Studios. He is knowledgeable about all aspects of Memphis history.

We recently booked a day in Miami by Massimiliano a very outstanding and experience tour guide and driver.
He showed us the city and was very knowledgeable and best of all pleasant. Myself and my friends had the best service and enjoyed the city tour and the mini boat ride. We definitely recommend him.

Graham was an excellent guide! We had a small problem with our train arrival (3 of us missed getting off at the proper station) and he went out of his way to come to the next station and retrieve us. His knowledge of the area was superb! He even helped us find an open restaurant we could eat at while waiting for our train back to the Paris. I highly recommend Graham for any of the tours he offers! I will book with him for a future tour.

We had a great time with Alvaro! He picked us up on time at the cruise port and showed us around Cadiz. From there we headed to Seville. On the drive Alvaro provided us with excellent information about this region of Spain and its unique history. He was very accommodating to our group and shifted some plans due to my mothers limited mobility. We really appreciated his passion and love for his city and the commentary he provided as we did the "highlights of the highlights" tour of Seville!

Thankyou Tugba for such a fantastic day. Tugba was an expert guide whose knowledge was second to none. We learnt so much on this tour and it was one of the highlights of our trip visiting Ephesus and Kusadasi. Having our 9 and 12 year old boys with us was no problems for her, she was so patient and included the boys in everything she talked about. Ours boys also absolutely loved the hands on pottery experience and our traditional lunch. Highly recommended

Alina was a wonderful guide and a pleasure to work with from the very first moment that I contacted her. She responded promptly to emails and provided very useful and targeted suggestions to help make our tour of Bucharest successful. Her English language skills are perfect and she has a natural and comfortable rapport with all.

Because of our timing, we were unable to enter most of the Jewish institutions, but Alina made special arrangements for us to visit the Jewish Theater and Chabad.

Chan T is not an ordinary travel guide. He was an "open encyclopedia"! Always smiling, humorous, taking care of us. He is excellent person, serious, available for anything we needed with an open soul and an open spirit. We were really very lucky and he is one of the reasons we want to come back to this beautiful island. The success of our trip to Sri Lanka is largely based to his presence. Our driver Suranga, very experienced, excellent driver.

The tour was absolutely AMAZING! We saw koalas and wallaby but the best was the penguin parade in a very secluded and private part of the beach. There was a total of 8 in the viewing group and we saw almost 300 penguins come ashore. Upon leaving the beach, it was incredible to walk amongst the penguins and hear thousands of them roosting. Our tour guide Peter was top notch. His knowledge of Australia and the flora and fauna was fabulous. He was personable and really made the day a very special experience

What a great day! Hamid was there waiting for us on time and spent the day showing us the highlights of the Salalah area. Knowledgeable and personable and covered everything we wanted to see and experience including a lunch at an open air restaurant. And yes, we loved the camel.

We used Ahmed's services to visit the tombs of the Theban Necropolis. He is a very knowledgeable guide who likes to pass on his knowledge and he does this by making sure we have understood the explanations. In addition, he was attentive to our needs and he knew how to adapt his visits to our desires and our physical abilities. In a word, we recommend them wholeheartedly and we spent a pleasant and rewarding day in his presence. In addition, he is accompanied by an excellent driver.

Excellent. This was one of the three days we spent with Vanna. We only had one day in the city as we had other trips to some of the more distant highlights on other days. Vanna was very flexible with her trip, but we left her to ensure we saw the highlights. There was certainly a lot to see but it was all planned so that it didn't seem too rush. Would certainly recommend both Vanna and this trip

We absolutely loved Chris and the tour he arranged for us! He is a very informative, thoughtful, and knowledgeable guide. Moreover, when we told him we only wanted to go to Boulder Beach and Cape of Good Hope (and then of course added many other sights) and said the group was 11 (and then just 8 again), Chris was unfazed and took it all in stride and handled us with great professionalism. We would undoubtedly use Chris again the next time we want a tour organized in Cape Town and so should you!

Had a great tour with Armin! He picked us up at the dock in a nice Yukon and showed us around Fort L. We wanted to get an overview so we would know options for where to stay and eat on future trips. The Riverwalk area is very nice and walkable; never would have found this otherwise. Armin knows the local history and what is happening in the local area, also knows Miami very well. He says it is possible to arrive in Miami early, take a tour there or in Fort L, and be dropped off at the cruise dock.

We used Tzamin as our local tour guide in Campeche. He was the very best in every dimension - driving, customer care, language, knowledge, pleasantness.the whole package.

Exceptional day spent with John understanding Memphis' history and culture, especially its architecture and green spaces. John obviously listened well to what we wanted to focus on and planned a phenomenal itinerary. Provided insights into people and events one would not otherwise glean. Our guide, Juan Jose, took us on a tour of Panama City's Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and nearby areas. He was friendly, very informative, communicated well, and took us to some interesting areas that tourists rarely visit. He also brought us to lunch at a very local, very good restaurant. He is a first-rate guide and the tour was well-worth the cost.

In a word, the trip with Kabelo was "remarkable"! From the moment he arrived, his gracious attitude and smile were beaming. The trip down the coast to the Cape was entertaining, educational, and truly enjoyable.

We hired Patrik for a Southern Moravia tour that took in archaeological sites and he really did a fantastic job! Communicating with him to set up the day trip was easy and quick, he was on time and took us everywhere we wanted to go. I can highly recommend him! The day was fantastic.

took a tour yesterday with Rodolfo. We would very highly recommend any tours offer by him in Loreto
Mexico. We took the San Javier Mission tour. We stopped on the way a couple of time to learn about the floral and fauna of the area. The tour was really informative and Rodolfo definitely knows his material. We had lunch at a restaurant near the Mission.it was delicious. The owner of the orchard there even shared his fresh pomegranate and guava with us. You can't go wrong with this tour.

Ed & Katerina, our tour-guides brought us on an unforgettable tour of Spinalonga, Ag. Nik. & Malia. We had the island remain open for us due to being late docking as the result of an itinerary change. This was all made possible by Ed & Katerina going the extra mile to ensure we got the full tour regardless of the change in circumstances by the ship. This is an excursion not to be missed, particularly in low season if possible. Ed treated us like family & we will be sending others to him & we will be back.

Rosalia has been great to work with since we first connected with her through Tours by Locals. She is responsive and attentive to all our inquiries prior to the tour date. Then when we met Rosalia, we realized that we were going to be in for a really fun and informative day.
She is knowledgeable on the Mayan culture throughout MX and ensured we had a great experience through Chichen Itza. We will be back and take further tours with Rosalia, we look forward to exploring more of the Mayan history.

Zuzanna is an excellent tour guide! She found out that one site we were visiting would be closed for a ceremony and called us the day before to figure out the best plan for our tour. She is super knowledgeable and I was so glad we got more of the history behind what we were seeing in Krakow. I would highly recommend her and the tour of the Old Town. It was fantastic!

Kim is amazing! He showed up with enthusiasm and excitement for Zion, which we immediately found contagious. We wanted to be off the beaten path and he accommodated by showing us several hikes which we did t find in our research. His pace was perfect for our mixed group and accommodated my husbands sore leg. He is very personable and knowledgeable about the area and is indeed full of "dad" jokes, which I found hilarious. I absolutely recommend Kim.

I highly recommend Christopher S.for tours of Poland, especially if you are interested in not only seeing the sights, but also learning about Polish history and culture on a deep level. Christopher is extremely knowledgeable about Polish history going back to the time it was a kingdom through the present. Christopher will plan an exceptional itinerary for you and will modify it to make sure you see everything you want to see. He will drive you in his Mercedes mini-van and he will take care of details, such as hotels and restaurants.

I can't imagine visiting Arlington any other way. Just seeing the highlights and domain in general is inspiring. With Tom sharing his knowledge, background, and details made it a truly memorable experience. I am a high school teacher so I appreciate acquiring knowledge, my wife (tax accountant) not so much.haha Even she said that she enjoyed learning so much about the cemetery. "It would have been a very shallow experience without Tom. "

Ellen Grace Sylvestre is genuine and easy to be with. She picked up me and my wife in Waimea at 4am and let us snooze until we got to Volcanoes NP in time to see the glowing lava before sun up. Grace was bright and knowledgeable and not at all overbearing, matching our mood. Her van was clean & comfortable and she proceeded to show off with obvious pride spots around Hilo, both touristy and local. She made it easy and fun for us to enjoy the island. Recommended!

We had two separate wonderful tours with our guide Judith. She is extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife including their behavior, lifecycles, the ecology of the area, and the ongoing potential conflicts between humans and wildlife. She really shines with the giraffes at the Giraffe Center Sanctuary. Judith even knew each giraffe's name and they knew her! While the other guides just showed their guests around, Judith provided specific personal instruction and photos. Thank you, Judith

Absolutely loved every moment of this tour. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, nice, funny and enjoyable. We loved having a private tour with her to really get to have our questions answered and learn things all day long. It was a wonderful tour and I'd recommend it to anyone looking. My teenage son adored the experience. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Cristina was absolutely amazing from start to finish! She provided several different trip and price quotes and was always quick to respond.

The day before our trip there was an adjustment due to one of our.locatuons and she offered 3 backup choices.

She was on time for our pick up and was very cognizant of our cruise departure time, ensuring we were back without feeling rushed.

Jola was a fabulous guide. We had a few challenges due to blocked roads for the Warsaw marathon. Jola navigated it all well, and very calmly. We also had an issue that the Chopin house did not open until 2 pm. Because we missed this part of the tour, Jola arranged alternative visits for us. Jola is very knowledgeable, and speaks English quite well. She made for a very enjoyable day!

Jaap thoroughly researched and prepared a tour going far beyond our expectations and gave us a book of his compiled research.

He visited sites he would later show us and planned contacts with locals who knew our family's ancestors. He arranged for us to meet the current owners of an inn built by our ancestors generations ago.

He exceed expectations, for example, meeting us at the train station and taking us to our hotel.

It was VERY meaningful and fun.

I got a phone call from a person called Sara who told me that I could get a free tour with them if I hired a specific guide and abused them during the tour and make the guide to walk out. Then, she said, she would refund me.

Manuela is a great tour guide. She is passionate about Verona and proud to be able to share her knowledge, stories and secret places with us. We learned so much about the long history of the City but she also went way beyond the usual to show us the fascinating aspects of Verona hidden in plain sight.

We had a wonderful day touring Malta with Nadine of Tours By Locals. Nadine and her driver Bob, shuttled us to historic sites throughout Malta. The air conditioned van was a welcome relief on a hot Malta day.
Highlights included the Hagar Qim Temples, Blue Grotto tour, the fishing village of Marsaxlokk, Mdina, Rabat and the Rotunda of the Mosta Church. We had a wonderful lunch at the Xara Palace 1530 Trattoria in Mdina. We have been fortunate to have a number of great guides in the past and Nadine would rate at the top - I would highly recommend Nadine to anyone visiting Malta.

My partner and I did an excellent tour of Thessaloniki with Eleni who clearly loves and is proud of her city. It gave us a great understanding of history of the city, and we saw a lot on the 6 hours that we spent with her. We like to go at a slow pace with coffee breaks and a long lunch and Eleni worked all this into the tour. Eleni met us at our hotel, and we drove around the city in her car. It's hard to imagine doing the same tour by yourself as the older parts of the city has complex streets.

Christopher was an excellent guide: well informed, knowledgable, and a pleasure to spend the day with. Based on our experience with Christopher we will definitely use ToursByLocals again and take another tour with him. We have traveled extensively and value the historical insight and anecdotes he provided. He tailored the day to meet our goals and was thorough in addressing all of our questions. If you can, go with him to Arlington Cemetery where he showed us things we would not have found on our own.

Valeria was very accommodating. We asked to combine two tours of Verona and she did a superb job. We were able to have a bird's eye view from above, understanding the importance of the geography and the beauty. Go on the city tour with all of the highly. We would highly recommend Valeria.

The experience was terrific! Aaron was very knowledgeable, affable, funny and adventurous. He tailored our experience to our particular interest and fitness levels. His attention to detail and commitment to customer service were exceptional. I enthusiastically recommend Aaron for any tours of Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.

Sue met us at our restaurant and took us through the wonderful world of the Georgian Bath. She walked at our pace, (my Mum is an octogenarian) answered questions and gave us insights and suggestions to make our trip to Bath a 10! All of our group enjoyed the walk and we've been using her catchphrases of "taking the waters" and telling people about the miracles of the waters from her story of the "leper" My friends are visiting later in the year and I've told them they must have Sue show them Bath.

Fedra met the four of us at our hotel and took us on a wonderful walking tour of the Duomo and surrounding areas. She was an absolute delight, combining a deep knowledge of Milan's history with an appreciation that we were jet-lagged and tired!

We never had any difficulty understanding Fedra, and she even made sure to take a few pics of us.

What an amazing trip to KY thanks to Mike! We wanted to see certain bourbon distilleries and thoroughbred farms. Mike was so easy to work with - communicate with and worked out the logistics for us. I don't know how a person not living in KY could do this. He took the stress out of this trip. Mike is kind, so knowledgeable, fun, and he went above & beyond to make sure we had a great time. We had an amazing time seeing the top horses in KY and getting to try the best bourbon in KY thanks to Mike!

I booked this tour very short notice and we had a lot of things going on between elderly parents and my husbands football game. Marc was simply amazing! He kept us calm and entertained Received some very cool information regarding the history of Liverpool. You could feel Marcs passion when he talked about the many diverse things the city has to offer.
He took us to one of the quaintest places to eat, he was energetic, fun and accommodating, if you want to have a memorable great time book with Marc

My mum and I had a fabulous day out with Steve as we toured Snowdonia and the surrounding area. Steve had an encyclopaedia-like knowledge of the history and culture, as well as flora and fauna of the area. We enjoyed his company immensely and his passion for the mountains. Steve was very flexible and accommodating when we changed our plans at the last minute, and we appreciated his friendly, easy-going manner and sense of humour. Our tour with Michelle was amazing, convenient and fun. We (2 persons) only had 2 days in the Isle of Sky. She offered 2 plans which were open to changes (which we did). Michelle picked us up on time. She offered snacks, water and refreshment (she makes an amazing home made whisky fudge). She was with us the whole trip (even in hiking spots) showing well-known and hidden gems of the Isle. Each place had a interesting history behind it. Michelle even extended the tour by 2 hours to cover all Of the trip.

I joined a tour organized by ToursByLocals involving a local professional tour guide in Kazakhstan. ToursByLocals kept me in the communication loop throughout due to some unforeseen issue with the original tour I wanted to join. I ended up joining an alternative tour with the same guide.

During a chat with the guide, he told me how thorough ToursByLocals interviewed him. I was very impressed. The guide was exceptional as well, he knew the history of Kazakhstan and the tour like the back of his hand. I very much enjoy working with both the guide and ToursByLocals and will definitely use them again in the future.

From the moment we landed in the Chiang Mai airport we felt that someone is going to really look after us and make this weekend awesome. Suphote is very punctual, kind and he really cares a lot about you! Walking the Chiang Mai streets and visiting the temples gave us a glimpse to Suphote's wealth of knowledge about the history and culture of the place and all of that was conveyed to us in very well spoken English. Aaron made our trip amazing, and we have been to YS before. He was determined to show us YS as we had never seen it and he delivered. He created our itinerary based on our priorities and then adapted based on what we had done prior to the tour. He was a fountain of knowledge including where to find the best restrooms. Lunch was delicious! He took safety precautions with sanitization. He had all that we needed! Gave us tips for rest of trip! Highly recommend using Aaron if doing YS or Teton area!

I chose Jay because she met me at the airport and looked fun. Jay gave clear instructions and suggestions before I arrived. I found her easily. It was like meeting a friend. Jay was well organised. On the train from the airport, we looked at a map and agreed on our itinerary. Jay was super considerate throughout the day, ensuring I had water and delicious food. I would not have attempted the Palace without a guide as it was so crowded. Jay timed our arrival at the Palace to be the quietest part of the day. The long tail boat ride was a highlight. I learned so much about Bangkok and Thai culture from Jay. She was a fantastic guide and I would ask for Jay again if I did another tour of Bangkok.

Cristina was fabulous - so informative and engaging and fun. She made Lucerne come alive for us. Our group had a man who wasn't able to keep up a walking pace with the rest of the group - so Cristina went out of her way to get all of us bus passes so as to keep the walking distance more manageable for this man... Wow... A million thanks to you Cristina.

Wonderful way to become acquainted with Washington, DC. My guide talked about the history and development of the city of Washington, pointed out the various well known landmarks and what they represented. Very knowledgeable and responsive to my comments and questions. A fun experience, left me wanting to visit or, at least, do some research!

Great day with Tim. After a brief technical issue we were off to explore Wellington. Tim pointed out the highlights and gave historical background about each site that made it that much more meaningful. This combined with an afternoon snack at Beach Babylon added up to a great day out!

We took a half day private tour of Bangkok. Our guide Tommy was punctual, friendly and knowledgeable. With his help we discovered sights and temples that we have not previously seen. He is clearly passionate about what he does. I would highly recommend him.

I was traveling solo but wanted to do a Masai Mara safari, and since almost everything is designed for two or more travelers, I needed a guide who could work with me while staying within an affordable budget. Dustan had great ratings and was super flexible, and easy to work with, as much as intercontinental communication allows. He and Jeff—far more than just a “driver”—are easy going and have a can-do attitude, and Jeff is impressively knowledgeable about animals.

The only Big 5 animal I didn’t see what a rhino. But I got a front-row experience of Masai Mara, and though we were well outside of peak season, we saw zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions (individuals, pairs mating, groups of females, prides, and the most adorable cubs), cheetahs, wildebeest, antelopes of all kinds, birds of all kinds, ostriches, baboons, and more that I’m forgetting. I am grateful to Dunstan and Jeff, and would happily travel with them again.

An excellent tour by a guide who is passionate about all things Estonian. In addition to the liqueur part, Dmitry highlighted several other pieces of information regarding this beautiful city. I would highly recommend.

Kelsey is AMAZING! Our trip Halfway to Hana was beyond magical! We are so happy that we did not try to do the drive ourselves! Being able to sight see and learn along the trip without having to worry about driving or stopping at the right places made it so enjoyable for my husband and I and our 2 kids. Some of her stops along the way were hidden treasures that the guide books don't even have listed! Her passion and love for Maui is so genuine and it makes the day so special. Book her!

We truly enjoyed our time with Brent. He was a wealth of knowledge and got us around to see all of the things on our list, and we had a lot! In addition, we broadened his knowledge a bit by going to the C1 Espresso Bar and Cafe for lunch, which was a hoot!
Fun and enlightening times were had by all!

We used Tours by Locals in Cartehena, Columbia and had a great experience.

Raphael was very knowledable and positive about Columbia and Cartegena. We enjoyed a clean comfortable van with functioing a/c. The driver Manuel was exceptionally adept at maneuvering the tight streets and turns. The tour included the highest point, old town, fortress, emeralds and all the islands of Cartegena. We learned much about the history, economy, social status and politics of Columbia. He also answered many of our questions and has a great sense of humor.

We just completed three days of tours in and around Cape Town with our guide, Craig Barrowman.
Craig is probably the best guide I have ever had. And having travelled to many places in this world, that's high praise.
He is personable, interesting, knowledgeable, energetic and willing to clarify difficult topics.

Our experience with Tom couldn't be better. We was sharp on time at 5am to pick us up. With a lot of knowledge on history, he could tell us in details everything about the complex. We spent around 3 hours in Angkor Wat and had a little breakfast pause next to the water, which felt good. We took many pictures of us and waited patiently while we wanted to see something else. We were back on our hotel around 1pm super tired (hot weather!) and pleased with the experience!

Quan is personable and knowledgeable! He was helpful with our needs and made accommodations for our wishes. The tour oh Hue, Vietnam itself was incredibly interesting and we saw beautiful places. How wonderful to be immersed in old vietnam for a day. We would recommend Quan enthusiastically!

Daniel tailor made the tour for us, I explained what we wanted, he made thoughtful suggestions and we had an amazing tour which none of us will forget. We learnt a lot and Daniel was very considerate and careful. He was very pleasant company from the moment he met us at the station until the end of the afternoon. Daniel booked tea at The Pump Room and even arranged for a celebratory cake to be served (it was the wedding anniversary of 2 members of the group). Absolutely fantastic and just perfect!

DeWaine was wonderful! Prior to the trip, he was in contact with me several times answering all of my questions. This was my first time to use Tours By Locals so I was a little nervous about the booking. He was on time and mindful of when we needed to be back at the ship. I always enjoy learning the history wherever we are. He was very knowledgeable about not only the history, but the plants and the people! Would definitely recommend him and Tours By Locals!

Laura was an incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable guide. She is herself very experienced in outdoors endeavors, but also for our hike to Los Gigantes she brought a trained professional mountain guide - I very much appreciated this and as a solo female traveler felt very safe. I had an absolutely wonderful time on the hike and the sights were beautiful (the provided lunch was also delicious!) I have recommended Laura to my friends and would recommend her to anyone seeking a very enjoyable tour/activity!

We enjoyed four different tours through ToursByLocals, and every day was special - mostly because of our amazing guide, Ms. Gabriella Vallejo. She was an enthusiastic and expert source of information on so much, from the churches of Quito to the volcanoes of Ecuador. Strongly recommmended!

We enjoyed our customized tour to the beach and restaurant. Donald, our guide, picked us up from the cruise port and gave us a tour of the seldom seen part of Freeport on our way to the beach. His deep knowledge of the area gave us many insights. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Banana Bay before walking the beautiful beach. A customized tour works much better when you have little time at a port. We didn't have to wait on other cruisers and could go to where we wanted. Two thumbs up.

I booked a tour in Minsk Belarus and Lucy Semenova was an excellent guide. She answered all my queries before I booked the tour and was there to meet me just before the allotted time. It appeared to me that they she wants to act professionally at all times and her English was good. I have been on some tours where a guide seems to sticks to a script and thankfully Lucy was not like that - it felt like a individual tour for me where she listened carefully and was able to tell me a lot about the folk museum and Belarus in general. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful 5 hour tour of Nashville on February 27,2020. Highlights of Quito tour - Juanfe spoke very good English. He knew the history of the area and the many sites we saw in Quito. He was very good at keeping pace with us. Being older we walk and climb stairs a bit slower but he walked and talked with us and we did not feel rushed at all. His choice for lunch was also very good. We would definitely recommend taking this tour with him.

Tigran was a phenomenal tour guide that showed me such a great time in Yerevan! I loved every minute of our tour and the beautiful city of Yerevan. He had interesting explanations for all the primary tourist attractions, but he also made sure to show me some of the hidden gems of Yerevan that I never would have uncovered had I been traveling alone. He also supplied great recommendations. We had a wonderful lunch together after our tour, as well. Anyone in Yerevan should take Tigran's tour; he's amazing!
