Trans Canada Movers moved our belongings from British Columbia to California in late November 2023.

Conor was accomodating with the pick up and delivery date changes we had to make; and also provided us with some different pick up dates when he felt it would suit our amended delivery date. The pricing documentation was straight forward and there were no hidden costs at any time.

The pick up & delivery teams were professional and efficient. The pick up team made some excellent recommendations for packing some of the more delicate objects. One of their comments to us was 'we want your belongings to arrive safely' and they did. Everything arrived as expected, on time, and intact. The delivery team knew the area in California and made sure they organized a date & time that would work well with parking.

The website also has a useful calculator that we used to work out the approximate weight of the move, so we could gauge how much we thought it would cost.

After having spent some time ringing moving companies; we were glad we chose Trans Canada Movers as they turned out to be the easiest part of our move.

I recently moved from Toronto to Los Angeles, and used trans Canada, and quite disappointed with their services.

The delivery coordinator Jake was helpful to get me a quote and get a pickup time setup, however when it came to the pickup date, they sent ONE person (the driver) to pack, and load the truck in which took forever. I did pay extra to have the driver to pack expensive items such as tv and other appliances, but had to help him to load the damn truck. Ridiculous

When it came to delivery, i was left in limbo from having the first delivery window in late December to getting a call saying it could be sometime in January. Luckily, they managed to deliver end of december.

However, the tv, and guitar came damaged and beyond repairable.

Transcanada only offers fraction of the cost to replace the tv, who can purchase a replacable tv and guitar for fraction of the msrp.

Do not use these guys unless willing to do the lavour yourself during pickup, and receive damaged goods.

Our move went smoothly. The communication from Conor was great and Eugene was really good to work with.

Overall, my experience with Trans-Canada Movers was positive. They showed up for pickup in Vancouver on time with a small army of movers who disassembled my furniture and took the boxes. The office was responsive when I had issues and they were fairly accommodating. On the other side in Nova Scotia, they were also on time and Yugen was very professional. Everything was fast and easy on moving days.

Some negatives along the way:
1. I was initially overcharged by $600 for being overweight. However, I weighed all my items beforehand and asked them why it was 30% heavier on their books. My first moving agent, Don, ghosted me (not sure why), but the office was responsive and assigned me to Alain who was really good about fixing the charges.
2. My first moving agent told me I didn't need to box things that were in large bags, but I was charged $80/box when movers came and boxed them.
3. It takes a long time to ship across the country. For me, it was over a month, with lined up perfectly with when I wanted to move in.
4. One of the movers in Vancouver spent 30 minutes trying to disassemble my ikea bed. When he failed, I pulled out an allen key and did it myself in under a minute. Ultimately, it was still in good condition, though.

You won't find a moving company without terrible reviews, and everyone has some awful stories. If you go with this company, at least they're professional and have good service by phone.

Yugen was fabulous! Worked harder than anyone I have ever seen! Ran an impressive moving team! Would definitely use again!

Everything went very smoothly. I would use Trans Canada Movers again, anytime I have to make a major move. I couldn't be happier with their service and would recommend them to anyone.

Transcanada movers is a great company with great workers.

Working with Don was awesome. Being my first move across the country, Don went above and beyond to ensure I felt informed and confident with the move. He followed up with an email to see how things went and provided some money back when regarding a miscommunication/misunderstanding.

The movers had an awesome attitude. They went above and beyond to ensure the safety of my furniture - super-wrapping I’d call it - and didn’t put a mark on the new hardwood floors. Shout out to Murat and Bulcnt, and the Vancouver moving crew.

I moved from Vancouver to Toronto and could not be more pleased with the experience. From the get go, Mike was super responsive, fair in his pricing and helpful. I appreciate that they charge you by the pound, it takes any guess work out of the conversation.

We brought our stuff to the warehouse in Delta, and watched the team meticulously check each box, re wrap some and secure others. They took about 3 weeks to get our stuff to Toronto, and delivered seamlessly, even going up several flights of stairs with heavy boxes which helped us a lot. I would use these guys for every move in the future!

We have moved many times, and Trans Canada Movers was extremely reliable and professional. Conor guided us through the cross-border process and accommodated our last minute request to move dates and shorten the timeline. The movers on both ends were very competent and careful-no damage to our stuff or the house!

Moving to the states and I called Trans C. Movers and Conor
contacted me, to tell me what was needed at the border and how to do everything. The appraiser came out, looked at everything thing and gave a written estimate. Day.before the truck came, they said what time they would be there.right on time. Worked so fast and completed the job in 4 hrs. Very nice, pleasant men to work with and very careful with our stuff. We crossed the border with all the required papers with no problems (thanks to Conor). The truck driver Jack, was here (on time) and started the job by himself. USA guys, once arrived were very nice and helpful as well, but they were 3 hrs.late and we felt we had to help Jack unload. I would highly recommend Trans Canada Movers to anyone. Moving is stressful and Conor and the rest of his staff were calming and helpful. Thanks GUYS!

Staff who gave service to me were all professional. Salesperson gave smooth guidance in timely manner and moving staff arrived in time and gave me fast&courteous job. Cost have not been increased at all by unclear reasons. Super!

As a company they were fantastic to deal with and Jake D who was my liaison is truly one of the most compassionate I've ever worked with. He helped me do a long distance move from Toronto to Vancouver while I was in Seattle and he was in Vancouver. They held onto my stuff for a reasonable rate for a ridiculous amount of time while I went thru visa problems, several deaths in my family (my dad and my closest uncle) and financial problems. Through all of it TCM was patient understanding and extremely accommodating. Not only that they packed my stuff so beautifully that even after rolling cross country and down the coast in a U-Haul my china and my mirror arrived unscathed. I cannot say enough good things about these guys. Totally worth your trust!

My contact was Jake regarding a move from New York to Victoria. He responded to my emails and texts immediately he was extremely honest and forthright with the issues of moving cross country and across borders I highly recommend him and his agency.

We used Trans Canada for a move from Vancouver to San Francisco and the experience was great. The team were super professional and were always easy to get in touch with. Moving across a border is expensive, so we did a bit of shopping around. Trans Canada gave us a very transparent (and in the end accurate) estimate of the costs and came in at least 10% lower than our next best offer. They handled our stuff really well and delivery occurred on schedule about 2 weeks later. At the time of delivery we had one box missing, but they were able to track it down and get it to us on their next run down the coast a few weeks later. All around great movers!

I had a move right up against the holiday season. Then many storms affected travel and logistics, but the Trans Canada folks kept things on track and on time. I’ve finally arrived and everything is safe and sound.

Trans Canada Movers helped me move from California to Canada, crossing countries and coasts, during a stressful time of my life. I moved from Toronto to Chicago using this company.

My situation was a bit awkward since I didn't have a final address in Chicago (my plan was to start out in an Airbnb while I looked for a long-term lease.). Luckily, Trans Canada Movers was able to accommodate me by holding my items while I worked on that.

Pickup and delivery both went pretty smoothly, and the price seemed competitive with the other quotes I gathered. They were maybe a tiny bit slow to confirm my final delivery date, but that's understandable given my situation. No real complaints overall.

This is two weeks past my first review. I was hoping that by this time I would have been able to change my review. However still I don't have any response either from management (as they claimed to contact me as soon as possible), nor have received any news of delivery of the shipment. At this point I believe they have lost our shipment and trying their best to ignore us. Extremely unprofessional.

TransCanada movers have my daughter's shipment since January and refuse to send it to us. They insist that My daughter needs to be at destination personally to receive the shipment eventhogh on the contract it clearly says "At delivery, shipper or authorized agent". I am an authorized agent, however all my calls emails have not been answered. I am prepared to take legal action. I am extremely upset with their lack of professionalism.

Moved from Seattle to Vancouver, they made it an incredibly easy during a difficult period. Many thanks again to the team!

We used TransCanada Movers to move from Michigan to Toronto. Overall, we had an excellent experience. Conor was our rep and communication was great-he responded to our emails and questions almost always within 24 hours. Eugene picked our stuff up and packed everything himself, very impressively, and only a few small things broke (glass bowl, picture frame). Drop off was also a good experience, and they were able to accommodate us to bring everything the day we got our apartment.

It was about $6000 USD for us to move roughly 1 bedroom worth of stuff (minus couch and mattress), which we felt was reasonable. The only very minor suggestion for improvement we have is if they could communicate dates of pickup and drop-off a little sooner. I know they are coordinating a lot of logistics but we didn't find out the exact pickup date (only a range) until a few days before. Other than that, we highly recommend this company.

TransCan had excellent customer service at the points where they were taking my money and absolutely zero any other time. I will use literally anyone else for the next move.

Everything seemed more or less okay until we actually wanted our things. It was impossible to get anyone to give us information on the delivery. Every call and email went nowhere. The agreed on delivery date came and went and our house remained empty. Finally, three weeks past the original agreed on delivery date, they showed up with very little notice.

Two guys who were clearly already exhausted from a full day's work began unloading our 9000 lbs at 5 pm and stayed into the night. At some point they must have given up trying because multiple large items - an entire bedroom set, chest freezer, television - that came out of the truck whole were demolished by the time they made it into the basement.

We submitted a claim for the damaged items, provided pictures, and were transferred from our initial agent to the claims department. Since then, there's been absolutely no follow up and I suspect there never will be any.

Last minute our original mover fell through and we needed to get moved to asap to the US from Canada asap. TransCanada Movers were able to help us on short notice and turn a bad situation into a good one. They were amazing, professional and I would use and recommend them again.

Experience with Trans Canada movers was amazing. Mr Conor was professional and ensured that my shipment experience is smooth. He coordinated and ensured pickup in Houston, USA was smooth. Delivery to destination in Canada was timely and all staffs were cooperative. Got timely updates on my movement. Team at Trans Canada ensured and helped in ensuring timely custom clearance. Trans Canada Movers recently helped me relocate from Toronto to Vancouver and I couldn’t have asked for better service. Pricing was transparent, accurate and very reasonable for a cross-border move. Throughout the entire process, the team at TCM went above and beyond to provide the best possible moving experience. Sales staff were courteous, knowledgeable and communicated in a timely, professional manner. Mike did a fantastic job coordinating the details of the move, ensuring that the packing, loading and unloading went smoothly. The moving crew was efficient, professional and handled everything with great care- I was delighted to see that all of my belongings arrived safely and as scheduled with no damage whatsoever. I moved from Vancouver to Toronto with trans canada and they were fantastic. Very professional and they went the extra mile to wrap and package my furniture items to prevent damage. Everyone was super nice and the folks at the head office (especially Mike) were great with communication which reduced my stress. Would highly recommend!

Mike got back to me last week, after being made aware of my concerns regarding the weight of the truck and the broken items. Once I provided proof from my last movers that even prior to discarding several large items my truck weight had only been 2700lbs, they were willing to consider that there had been perhaps error in weighing my items. They tried to find the scale weights but had been unable to, so we agreed upon a weight of 2500lbs. They wound up giving me a refund of several hundred dollars accordingly. I do have to say that this did impress me, as I had not expected them to actually respond or address the concerns. Because of this, I have changed this review to 3 stars. I would still suggest keeping track of your scale weights when you move in case of this sort of error, and asking for proof of weight. But they did prove to do business honourably in that they followed up.

1- I know how much my stuff weighed and they claim 3200lbs (it was actually 2300lbs) and so I know I was overcharged.
2- they smashed a glass coffee table cover that had survived 7 moves by other companies
3- they waited until we had transferred them the money to inform us of the glass coffee table cover having been smashed
4- boxes arrived upside down and dirty and had obviously been handled extremely roughly (other glass items were broken as well)

I’ve moved numerous times and this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I would try All-ways movers in the future. I used them for my last move (unfortunately the timing didn’t work out for this move) and they did an amazing job and really cared about customer service.

Trans Canada movers were great to work with - I moved from Vancouver to Washington recently. They were quick & efficient at pick up, really responsive when coordinating the dates & location of the move. And their delivery & delivery people were top notch. Loved working with Conor who patiently answered all my questions through email & on phone. Overall, would recommend them to everyone.

This company exceeded my expectations by a mile. I moved from St. Thomas Ont.to Edmonton. The packing and unpacking by Ali, Memik, Ray and Richard was done efficiently and with care. Conor was very helpful with quoting and was dead on. Excellent communication with Conor, Emre in dispatch, Ali and Ray the drivers plus the delivery was early which for my situation was perfect. Highly recommend.

We had a lot of communication issues and mis information during our home move. Delivery was so delayed (3 weeks) and we weren't regularly informed. We did not feel in good hands at all.

Moved my home stuff/boxes from Ontario, Canada to California, USA using their service, got everything on time and well in place, nothing was broken or lost. Very professional and highly recommend! Mike was the guy I was communicating with and he was very helpful and always reachable!

Moved from Vancouver to Montreal with them. Was told it would take 2-3 weeks overall, it ended up taking 6+ weeks.
Communication has been difficult, without any proactive updates from their part. I always had to call and nag the rep to get any bit of information, until I got confirmation of pickup and delivery dates, both times only the day before. Coordinating our family accommodations has been really difficult and stressful in the meantime. We ended up getting everything, with a few things broken, this was far from great service.
Don't believe any time estimate from them, they've been the most unrealistic I've experienced.

My belongings were finally delivered on July 12. A desk and bookshelf were ruined; I emailed my sales rep about this and he didn't respond. The final price tag for this 1-bedroom apartment move was $3800 USD.

A frustrating experience so far.

I reached out to Trans Canada Movers in late April, 2021 to handle my move from Vancouver, Canada to San Francisco, California. My sales representative, Mike, was initially helpful. However, it wasn’t long before questions in my emails were overlooked and entire emails went unanswered. Three days before the actual move, Mike emailed suggesting corrections to the CBP form. It would have been much more helpful for this guidance to have been provided upfront with the form when it was sent to me over a month prior.

Move-out day on June 10 went fairly smoothly. The movers arrived an hour early, but they’d called the night before and said this might happen. Since the elevator wasn’t reserved yet, they focused on prep work like wrapping furniture and stacking items at the top of the elevator.

I was informed after loading that I was being charged for the wrapping of the couch and mattress because they’d used a special material (without asking me). I was also asked to sign insurance documentation. From skimming the long text, I got the impression that the insurance was very poor. But the truck was already loaded, so I signed it. I believe this documentation should have been transparently provided earlier in the process.

Around the pickup date, I asked a couple times for some kind of estimate of when my belongings would arrive in SF. My emails were ignored.

Since my arrival in San Francisco on June 12, I’ve received no proactive communications from Trans Canada Movers. I’ve called in multiple times to check on my shipment to learn the following:
1. Delivery is expected to be June 22 or 23
2. The truck had a problem, so the delivery date is adjusted to ~July 2
3. Canada Day, Independence Day, and my downtown address are causing logistical issues, so the new delivery window is July 6-8

I’m sorry, but didn’t you know these statutory holidays were coming? And didn’t I share the destination address over a month ago? And would it hurt to call/email when something is delayed instead of waiting for my call the day my belongings should already be here based on what I was last told?

Fingers crossed for next week. I’m not hopeful.

We used TransCanada Movers for our recent move from Dallas, Texas to Victoria, British Columbia. Aside from being about 30% less expensive than some of the other services we examined the quality of service was absolutely first rate and their communication was professional and impeccable. As someone who has moved countless times I highly recommend them.

TransCanada Movers were incredibly professional, polite, and fast and efficient, and accommodating to my situation. My belongings were safely delivered from my apartment in the USA to my apartment in Canada. I shopped around before hiring them and found that they also offered competitive pricing. It has been a great moving experience working with them.

First time using movers or moving away from immediate family. Pretty stressful so granted it's not easy. The process, in the end, wasn't so bad - all the stuff got to us. The reason I'm giving 2/5 is because the communication could of been better, was charged for boxes I didn't know I would need, and 3 items had to be left behind even though I was reassured 2x there was enough room (picture attached of the room that the truck with 3 boxes of our stuff loaded so far, just shows how much room they left for us - lol). I had items that I taped together, bubble wrapped like crazy, or just had a label on (like camping chairs) and they all had to go in a box according to TCM, so I was charged for boxes. The integrity of my sales rep was not great - constantly said he'd get back to me by x-time and didn't. I initially put for a studio (as I was living in one room with my stuff) and then corrected my self and told my rep that I might have more than that, was reassured it would all fit even so. During the quoting process, I mentioned the date we were leaving was June 16/17 and the drop off date would be July 1st and that we were flexible with the pickup date. We didn't find out the actual pickup date until the evening they were coming and we didn't get our stuff until July 9th - I basically begged to just get it here.

Edit: The guys that came to get our stuff and the guy that dropped our stuff off - all amazing and genuinely nice, caring people. They all handled our stuff carefully. The sales rep that handles everything was NOT great. That's where this company is failing.

I cannot say enough about Trans Canada Movers! Every single step from the moment I called for an estimate right up until the move was done was easy and efficient. We were moving from the US to Canada and had no idea what was needed and what to expect. Conor answered all of my many questions along the way promptly, the staff that came to our house in the US were lovely, and the driver was amazing. He guided us through what was going to happen at the border, what we needed to do and where we needed to be. Our belongings had to be stores for a couple of weeks prior to being moved into the house, and we were thrilled to see our same driver on this end guiding the delivery folks through the unloading and unpacking. They put our beds together for us along with a few other things which we really appreciated. Seriously people who are reading this. Use these guys! I’ve done a fair number of moves but none compare with this one! Flawless from start to finish! Thanks everyone!

I didn't have much time to meet my deadline.
However, Super Don was my Agent.
He made sure I was Gucci!
He got my shipment pick up confirmed for the next.
His team is amazing, Super Ray & Chris (Calgary) & Ray & Allen (Vancouver).
Ray gave great recommendations for my drive to BC which was my first experience.
I'm so thankful to him for that, his advice made my experience memorable.
I was also able to get my stuff like 2 hours later once I arrived in BC no Hang up.
The guys I mentioned are a really great team & very professional & awesome customer Service.

From the preliminary stages in Phoenix, AZ right through to clearing my goods from customs in Mississauga, ON my move with Trans Canada Movers was seamless! Tammy and everyone involved with the company knew how to make this move happen with precision and experience. I would 100 percent recommend them!

I had to move my apartment from Vancouver to the US virtually. That meant having someone pack up everything - including artwork and espresso machines! - without my being present! Very nerve-wracking, but communication w/Tammy was key and she ran everything with knowledge, precision and a sense of humor. In the end, very painless and everything appears to have arrived in once piece! Highest marks!

I moved from the Los Angeles area to Shirley, BC in November. I was extremely happy with the service I received from Trans Canada Movers, especially from Tammy, who coordinated it, but also from all of the packers and movers. Extremely kind and polite, but very efficient and careful. Tammy's communication was stellar. For a high-stress move, Trans Canada Movers added nothing to it, and I would happily use them again.

TransCanada Movers helped us move from Santa Clara, CA to Oakville, ON in Dec 2020. Chris was a great help, answered all our questions and concerns throughout the whole process. Our furniture and boxes were handled carefully. We were on a tight schedule. Chris and TransCanada team were very understanding and helped deliver our stuff on exact delivery date. I could not be more pleased and would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future.

Trans Canada Movers made my recent move from New York to Ottawa incredibly smooth and stress-free. TCM were great for my move from Chicago to Vancouver. The items were well packed and arrived undamaged. The moving staff was very friendly and Conor (customer service) was incredibly responsive - keeping me posted on arrival times and logistics. Price was very decent for an international move. Can highly recommend TCM.

The journey began in early August in California and ended successfully in mid September with the delivery of our furniture and personal items in Ontario. Communication by TCM throughout the process from pick up to delivery was outstanding. Its driver teams are well chosen with excellent customer service attitudes in both countries. Goods were handled with care and delivered flawlessly upon arrival.
