Transitions Midwifery Practice

I loved my experience with the team at Transitions and will hopefully be back to see them in the future. They're all about informed consent and answered any and all questions I had about my pregnancy. Anytime I wanted to look into further a topic we discussed, they would provide some resources and let me research the topic until my next appointment. It made me feel respected throughout the entire process. The postpartum care was great as well. I think I called them with questions at least once a week after my little one arrived. They would always return my call and ease any worries I had.

We loved our experience with them. It was the best decision for us. Highly recommend their service.

Couldn’t ask for a better team of ladies. Seriously was so impressed by the support of them all. It was really great for my husband to have them as support too, to ask questions during it all. They are quick to help answer questions over the phone, email, writing medical notes for work and general care! Erin was with me at the delivery and was amazing, but they are all so great! Would recommend them 100%

Prior to my first appointment the lady on the phone was rude and obnoxious about cancelling my doctors appointment (that took me four weeks to get) because the midwife would do everything. No one in the clinic had met me and the receptionist was already devaluing a doctor with decades of experience, which made me less than impressed. I’ve worked in health care for ten years and have never talked to someone so pushy and with such a high complex about themself. I’d rather go to my humble GP than deal with a pushy clinic for seven months.

The whole Transitions team was fantastic. This was our second child but first time with this team. Fantastic from start to finish. My wife and I were well versed in our options and had a rock sold birth plan that they adhered to as best as possible. We wanted minimal medical procedures and interventions if possible but with the option to have some if needed. Some were needed but we we're able to discuss B. R. A. I. N.for each step along the way.

On delivery day it was Denise who pulled the birthing card and showed up like a champ to help my wife coax out a 10lb5oz baby girl, vaginal birth without tearing!

Post care was also excellent, informative and inspiring and left us feeling very complete with the whole process.

Denise, Julia, Sylvia and Erin, thank you for helping bring our sweet little (big) girl into this world!

I would definitely recommend them and if we had another child we would confidently go back to Transitions Midwifery.

Working with midwives definitely was a great decision, through out the pregnancy you guys assisted and helped me alot and delivery of the baby went smoothly and you made it so much easy for me!

I have had the most wonderful experience with Transitions Midwifery for my first pregnancy. The prenatal care was thoughtful and supportive. My labour and delivery was powerful and I felt so safe and respected by my midwife. The home visits in the early postpartum days helped my husband and I settle into parenting so much. Knowing support was just a phone call away and every question I had would be met with openness and clear practical advice and information has made the process of becoming a mother absolutely amazing. 10/10

Best experience with all of the midwives. Denise took me on late in my pregnancy due to poor care at another clinic, so unfortunately I didn’t get the full pregnancy experience at transitions but the few weeks I spent as a patient here I felt SUPPORTED, cared for and really included in my prenatal care. Even with a gestational diabetes diagnosis. Originally I wanted a planned csection, I was met with nothing but support on this decision. Due to the caring nature of the whole team at transitions I opted out of a csection and welcomed a beautiful healthy baby.we are sad to say goodbye! But grateful for the experience here!

I felt comfortable and confident with any one of the three midwives I met delivering my daughter. Thank you again Denise, Julia and Sylvia.

Julia is the best! Personable & extremely friendly especially for a first time mom. Sylvia has a hard and unfriendly demeanour but is knowledgeable. Highly recommend Transitions Midwifery.

The best thing I did for my first time pregnancy was to pick transitions. After being diagnosed with preclampsia and being admitted a lot earlier than we expected, I was filled with uncertainty and worry. Thankfully Julia was such a power house and was by my side from the moment I was admitted to the hospital to the day we decided to do a csection. She advocated for me, understood me and was all around supportive of me and my husbands wishes. She listened, expressed my feelings to the doctors and nurses and made sure I got the care I needed. Denise also played a huge part as she had her own surgery the day before and literally flew down to the hospital to be by my side after the csection the next day! The care and love I felt from her was amazing. These woman put there heart into everything they do.

Both Julia and Denise were beside me throughout my whole pregnancy/post opt and I couldn't have done this without them.

I loved both my birthing experiences here! The midwifes were caring and supportive. I felt safe, heard and listened to. I would highly recommend working with any midwife here!

Amazing care for all 3 of my babies! Most recent baby I had a c-section so although baby was in their care in the hospital I was in the care of the gynaecologists. I had a complication after the fact and Denise just happened to be there during a bad time doing what should have been a quick daily baby check on her end (I was being monitored by the nurses and the gynaecologists). She stayed with me through some pretty traumatizing events and advocated for my care with the nurses even though she did not need to. I can’t imagine what would have happened had she not been there to take charge for me. My other two babies were delivered by Sylvia and the care from all three midwives both throughout my pregnancy and my postpartum care has been amazing.

The care team was very well informed (from science and experience) and made sure I had all the information I needed to make the best and informed choices for myself and my baby. I have a heart complication which ended up transferring care to an OB to deliver out of an abundance of caution, but the midwives offered to continue my pre and post care so I could have some continuity. I worked mostly with Denise and she was warm, mindful, a great listener, and full of new tips for me even though this was my second child. Having someone come to your home in those first few weeks to check on you mentally and physically was an incredible service that I am grateful for. Totally different than what I experienced in the hands of an OBGYN with my first. I would definitely recommend them to any of my friends or family, and actually have family that was lucky enough to have the midwives deliver their littles.

I have received care from Transitions Midwifery for two pregnancies, births, and postpartum periods. The team at Transitions is amazing! I have always felt supported, listened to, and like I had control over choices in my birth experiences. I attempted a home birth with my first birth, that ended in transfer to hospital for the last bit of the birth, and had a hospital birth with my second baby. The midwives at Transitions are comfortable supporting women in both environments. I definitely recommend Transitions for an awesome pregnancy and birth experience!
