Travelodge by Wyndham Dawson Creek

I stayed here for 3 weeks as my mum was palliative and in the hospital. The location is great, you can walk to hospital, mall, downtown and restaurants. I was without a car, so this was very convenient. The hotel is older, but they are working on a lot of repairs and maintenance. The rooms are cleaned by a staff that does a super job. I found by the end of the day that getting into a comfortable, well made bed, was heavenly. This hotel also offers a complimentary breakfast at the restaurant adjoined to the hotel (Sam’s Place). Thank you mostly though to the management team of Maggie and Ron, who offered wonderful service throughout my stay. I felt at home, safe and comfortable during a difficult time. Many thanks! Alison

If you want to get yelled at by the staff for no apparent reason and have your car broken into,
you found the right place!

Changed hotels after the initial room didn't have a working fridge and had a strange smell, was told I needed to change rooms again after I requested to stay. Decided to switch hotels and only then they were willing to accommodate. Was told I needed to come back and get my stuff otherwise I would be charged for another night. And even though I was charged for another night they refused to give me my breakfest voucher.

Beware: kitchenette rooms do not have a stove, they each had a different stove alternative (air fryer, electric, skillet, toaster oven, etc.), Nor do they have hood fans.

Great owners. Great location. Great prices. And breakfast. Recommend this place to anyone

The owners and people working at the motel were wonderful. They were so helpful and accommodating with my dog and made us feel so welcome. When we checked in we were greeted with water, cookies and smiles. Everyone was friendly and when one of the workers saw me struggling with my suitcase, he helped lift it into my car. Housekeeping also brought me what I needed (and extra coffee). The room was very comfortable. I highly recommend this place, especially if you have a pet.

A motel is a motel, but if you offer breakfast, 1 pancake or 2 pieces of French toast with nothing else is a joke if you ask me. Aside from that I found it to be a pleasant stay.

This was a great place to stay for us on our way up to the Yukon. The rooms were spacious and clean - yet rustic and comfortable. The staff was of the extra-mile sort from the beginning and we felt really at home. The food in the restaurant was great and reasonably priced as well.

Really great stay at this hotel. We have stayed at several Travelodges in North America and this one is hands down the best one we have stayed in. The room is older but large and exceptionally clean, the staff were exceptional and helpful and had snacks and bottled water waiting for us at the front desk. There was a large fridge with separate freezer which was nice to finally be able to completely refreeze our ice packs on a longer trip. Breakfast was made to order and was excellent. Only downside is it is a bit of a walk to the area where our dog could relieve herself but we would absolutely stay here again.

Front desk lady isnt as pleasant as she first appears. Over priced for condition of rooms. In need of an update.

Room was disgusting, stunk of cigarette smoke despite requesting non smoking. The price was ridiculous for the quality of the room, dirt and dust behind the beds and side tables. There was “included breakfast” but the restaurant was closed at 9am on a Sunday. Very disappointed, I would not recommend staying here to anyone.

Terrible experience staying here. Do yourself a favour and dont stay here. Here are a few of the things wrong with the place.

1. My room smelled like smoke (even though I asked for a smoke-free room)
2. Wifi was not working
3. Microwave did not work
4. Stains all over the floor, wall, and ceiling.
5. Electrical problems and miswiring.
6. Floors and carpets messed up.
7. Curtains did not close all the way
8. Lots of highway noise
9. ROOM SERVICE ENTERED MY ROOM WHEN I HAD A DO NOT DISTURB SIGN ON.

Worst place I ever stayed at, and I travel quite a bit.

Big room with a beautiful bed, this was a great place to stay on our trip. The staff was friendly, very clean establishment, we'll definitely be staying here again. The restaurant next door had great food and staff also. Highly recommend!

Terrible WiFi signal and speed. Impossible to get any work done while on the property. 90% of the time I had a "No internet available" on my devices when there was no outage with the ISP. When it would connect the signal was weak as all getout. It reminded me of dialup internet from the EARLY 90s.

Floor was very uneven with soft spots, causing everything in the room to be crooked, even the bed had a pronounced slope.

Only saving grace is the very good breakfast, and the availability of smoking rooms if you are a smoker.

Verdict: FIX YOUR STUFF!

I have stayed at this location a few times for 4 days at a time. The rooms are cozy and have everything you would expect in a hotel/motel. The staff are very friendly and are accommodating. The beds, sheets and pillows are fresh and very comfortable. You are close to all amenities and there is a laundromat across the street. There is an onsite restaurant where the food is adequate. I enjoyed their complimentary breakfast. You are right off the main drag, and the suites are around a parking lot and everyone drives big diesel trucks but once inside the rooms you don't hear a thing outside. They also have smoking rooms? ! I never smelt the odour of cigarette smoke once. Nice little cozy hotel. Will stay there every time I go up for business.

Older building as expected with about average cleanliness and only some updates to room. Very warm in room, even with old baseboard heater turned all the way down. Old loud A/C unit barely able to cool off room, even with ~0°C outside temp. Old "razor only" electrical outlet in bathroom unable to power wall-mounted hair dryer. Free "cooked to order" breakfast is just eggs, choice of meat (bacon, sausage, jam), toast and coffee or juice. Not worth $165CAD/night for 2 adults and an under 16 teen, even in busy oilpatch country.

Most corporations, if not all, strive to provide their customers with a consistent experience regardless of the location visited. I am putting those views aside when rating this accommodation because of several factors (norther location, clientele services are tailored to, high rates/night, dated).

Constructive Feedback/PLEASE fix immediately:
1. A lot of comments I read here emphasized how clean this Travelodge is and I was stoked about that as I highly value cleanliness. When I first entered my room, everything looked in order and clean. One night, when I went to bed, I removed my socks and some black lint got trapped in between my toes. The next day, I went to work and when I came back the bed had been nicely made. To my surprise, when I removed the first layer of sheets I found some lint from my black socks on the bed. This was the same case for the night that followed. This made me wonder how thorough Travelodge is when cleaning, how often they change the bedding, and whether they change the bedding between reservations/different customers. This raises health/hygiene concerns.

This hotel in Dawson Creek is by far the best in town. The staff is incredible and will always try to accommodate any of your needs. The rooms are amazingly clean due to the cleaning staff being absolutely great at their jobs. Location is perfect being located in the centre of the town. The best part of the stay tho has to be the breakfast.which is free, unlike other hotels which offer free breakfast which consists of powdered eggs and microwave bacon, this hotel offers home cooked fresh eggs the way you like with thick sliced bacon and many other additions to the breakfast as well.and again it's free with the room purchase. Overall this hotel is my favorite in town and I stay here everytime I come for work or pleasure, I have been to every other hotel in Dawson Creek and this one is by far the best of the best. To any readers looking for an amazing hotel to stay at in Dawson Creek, I suggest you make your first call to the Travelodge.you will not be disappointed.

This place doesn't look all that appealing from the outside but it truly goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover. The rooms are incredibly spacious and come equipped with a big fridge, freezer, counters, cupboards, big TV, incredibly comfortable beds and probably the best WiFi I've experienced in a hotel. There's a restaurant right behind the front desk that serves out a fantastic breakfast (free I might add) and even has a great lunch menu. To top it off it's walking distance to a 7/11, grocery store and a 50s diner. Big win here. 10/10 would sleep here again.
