Travelodge by Wyndham Kamloops

I will not book here again or advise you to do so either. If you don’t care about appearance, amenities, a decent breakfast or cleanliness of the room then fine. If you need a place to just sleep, then fine. I was on a work trip away from the kids and I was excited to just relax. The room I was put in smelled foul. I couldn’t get the AC to work, the carpet was dirty and lumpy… one section stood up like a mountain. The grout in the bathroom was falling out and was not cleaned up. And there was a birds nest in the exhaust in the bathroom. The pictures online are not a true representation of this place. I was QUITE disappointed. Also the breakfast is a paper bag with half a muffin and a juice box. Thankfully, I was able to get my money back, as they made me pay FIRST. I did not stay here or use this hotel. This is in a central location though and right across the hotel. Also there is outdoor space to chill. But it’s right by the main road and there’s construction happening in the back.

The room and bathroom were both clean and well-maintained, and the addition of a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room was appreciated. The hotel's location is also convenient, as it is within walking distance to the hospital and supermarket. Overall, it's a great option for a comfortable and convenient stay in Kamloops.

Thin floor & walls, could hear the upstairs guests flushing the toilet, using water of any kind, and even talking.
On a very busy street, proximity to the hospital is the only real win here.

Front desk clerk was very nice and friendly and inviting. Rooms clean, sadly little cold the heat wasn't the best and I had to hold the hot water tap over to get a proper amount of warmth in my shower, bed was in need of some updating (slanted to one side and springs in the back) but as a quick stop while I recharged before heading back to work it did it's job. Very grateful for the decent rate and the very friendly service. I will go back again if in need of a quick sleep between long shifts.

Booked through Expedia, and everything is fine through Expedia. However, the hotels computer system does not work correctly, and they got no information besides my name. They did not get the amount of nights correct, they overcharged me, and gave me a room that "I requested", I did not request a specific room at all. It was mistake after mistake, and I left right away before checking in. Called Expedia, to get them to refund in full, which they did.

Owner doesn't own his failures. Showers don't run hot only warm. Lights flicker to cheap to buy decent bulbs. Fridges sound like a semi starting, and if you look closely your see that the rooms aren't as clean as they used to be. I have stayed here many times before, but it's going down hill. Ken the owner was asked to call me on many different times yet hides before his wonderful staff that say there hands are tied. Shame it was a good place. But my work ventures will now have to be moved to a better then 2 star motel at best. 120$ a night isn't worth my time.

I would have given the location more stars if you didn't have to walk up hill to get from downtown. The only reason I even gave Travelodge 2 stars is because of the price of the room. Some people may say that I am bias and that is okay, maybe I am. The motel also rents rooms by the month but you best not have any company drop by, my friend whom I will not name at the age of 80 years young. Was recently told she had to leave due to the frequent visitors. I guess I am wrong that someone who reaches that age loves the company of family and friends as much as possible, at the rate she was paying I would not think it would be an issue. She is in her new place now and I was over for Thanksgiving "WOW What a meal ". We will see what the new place is like, Stay tuned for my thoughts on the new place coming up soon. Later Peps
