Travelodge by Wyndham Parksville

This review is about company policy. Staff member who helped was polite but cant grant room with out physical credit card in this day and age extremely disappointed as i had debit credit in phone or cash if they needed to keep deposit it could have done differently but apparently again company policy no physical credit card no room.
Went to bayside ocean fron hotel right in front of travel lodge unsterstood the situation and granted a room in 5 minute.
So there is lot more room for improvement.

A little disappointed that the pool and hot tub are closed for renovation however good location and helpful staff

Started here 10yrs ago it was new and nice, zero maintenance since. Fridge froze all my food on lowest setting, carpet peeled in room exposed spike strip. Just run down, not even cheap

The front lady was very nice.
Overall, it was OK. Breakfast is just ok (if there is better coffee.). The price was too high.
There were some issues needed to complain.
First, TV was too small, the faucet head was too stiff to turn, and the toilet seat was too old (kind of disgusting), and the sink had a some damages right in the front.
Last is the handle to flush the toilet. It was super hard to push down.

Worst service iv had in all my traveling with my family.
We will never stay at any travellodge again.

Booked the rooms at one rate, ended up paying 100.00 more per room. Front desk clerk was rude about it and stated since it was booked online through Expedia there was nothing they would do to fix the issue.

Rooms are old, outdated, and purely maintained. Outdated is tolerable if it's well maintained but this place was not that. The towel racks and shower curtain were falling out of the wall, and the drain in the tub was so slow I had to stand in a puddle while showering (took 10 minutes to drain after finishing). Not worth what they charge for a night.

The pool area is a health hazard with rust and mold on the ceiling
The machines in the fitness room are rusty and do Not work safely
Breakfast was disappointing
Outside appearance is run down

This Hotel is in terrible shape, the exterior is falling apart, the carpets in the lobby and main shared areas have not been cleaned in what looks like, YEARS.
The Bathrooms are in bad shape - chipped and the toilets, bathroom sink, and counter are super low, as if for toddlers. The plumbing of other units was VERY loud - the shower was super noisy. The alarm clock and TV were not re-programed upon cleaning of the room, so our alarm went off at MIDNIGHT, and the TV was messed up from the previous guests, so could not use it.
The Breakfast was poor - only a few boiled eggs for protein available, while the DIY Waffles are neat for kids, however, they do not provide a proper adult meal.
We happened to book online through a third party (As they advertise better rates). And so, they would NOT honour the seniors discount! - my mother is 80 years old and paid for this shabby stay. And still had to pay over $250 a night.
We feel ripped off, and will never stay at any of your hotels again.

This is really just a hotel to spend the night in between. There is little else to do in the area.

The shower is making a very loud noise, almost like it is breaking. Breakfast really not good, no protein. When we asked for more eggs they answered they do not want to do it for us when other people had them. I do not recommend to stay here.

My family and I stayed here for two nights. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice. The staff are all great. Thank you.

If you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere. This utilitarian hotel was popular with the kids, especially the pool and the breakfast. The decor is tired. I really appreciated the wonderful staff. Would stay again.

We weren't impressed with this place.we asked for a king / Jacuzzi tab And called in using our Scotia bank debit Visa, after arriving they would Accept our debit Visa ask for a 3rd party credit card gave us gave us such a hard time and there was 4 other people that this was happening you because we all preordered the room ahead of time 2 weeks actually After all this we finally settled on cash we gave them $250 extra pluspecifies which is OK with us get in the room there's no Jacuzzi tub shower on the way this was our Anniversary, The pool was there 3' deep all the pool. The hot tub was great the showers had no Pressure at all I would give this motel 2 stars. Would not recommend this motel oh and construction going on while you're trying to sleep in

We stayed there last weekend with my daughters volleyball team. The hotel was great value. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable, it was quiet considering there were 4 U15 Girls volleyball teams staying there. The continental breakfast was just what we needed to fuel up for the matches. The manager, Getchie, was amazing in the whole process! Would definitely return.

This place was not great but it was bad either. It was pretty good for what you pay. The staff were all pretty nice. If you stay here, then you should definitely ask for a renovated room. There are some definitely weird things going on here though.
The phone in the room in the room didn't work and neither did the desk lamp. The desk chair seat had a large, horrible stain on it and, much like the furniture in the lounge area looks like the owner found it on the side of the road somewhere.
Speaking of the owner. I had to call the front desk one night at 1am (using my phone as the room phone didn't work), as there was a dog barking in one of the rooms. The guy at the front desk said that it's probably the owner's dog as he usually keeps his dog there from time to time (for some weird reason).
The breakfast was ok and my room was pretty clean, but the pool needs to be shut down and the health department needs to inspect the condition and cleanliness of the pool.
I've left pics of the broken down furniture and pool area so you can see the state of the place.

This hotel was a mixed bag of pros and cons.
Pros: nice bedding, clean room, hot tub was great (I liked the jets!), pool was ok (a little shallow, but at least enough length to do some laps), staff willing to help, option to have the room cleaned, continental breakfast had a nice number of options (waffles, bagels, toast, eggs, muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereal, tea, coffee, hot chocolate).
Cons: some damage to the bathroom (random white paint on the bathroom door and a rusted sink drain), gym was not good (all of the cardio equipment was broken or defective, weight machine didn’t work, free weights were minimal), staff were never present at the counter and there wasn't even a bell to ring for service so you felt like they didn't want to talk to you.
Overall, it was ok for the price we paid. If their gym was improved, then I would probably stay here again.
