True Confections Broadway

Beware! The Diplomat Cake we had ordered was very disappointing. It was not like any diplomat cake I have ever bought before. Instead of numerous layers of puff pastry, there was only one thin layer in between two large slabs of dry and tasteless white cake. I think the cake must have been previously frozen because the day after I bought it (and kept it covered in the fridge), it was like sawdust. I will certainly never buy anything from True Confections again!

True Confection or True Disconnection?

As I recalled from memory lane, this used to be bumping and the place to be for good desserts and drinks, both locations were packed and lineups. Honestly, I even had one of my businesses sell some of the desserts back in the days. What happened? !?

Fast forward it to nowadays, the service at the West Broadway location was horrible and the Denman location, extremely slow and barely passable when there was only 3 tables of customers. Plus some drinks were out or too late to make it when it’s an hour before closing?

Overall, I visited both locations and the services just weren’t like before. The atmosphere was similar to wandering around an abandoned mall and the food just not it when compared to similar bakeries nearby.
I guess just like many thriving businesses, got too comfortable with its success and didn’t put in the effort to catch-up with time until it’s too late.
It really saddens me for a second when I see such thriving businesses from before became nothing but just an afterthought, a True Disconnection from its glory days.

We dined in last night. It was a great experience. The customer service was really good. The guy was super friendly and generous as they made really nice recommendations. I am surprised to see so many negative reviews!

Worst dessert I’ve ever had. Even Breka does a better job. I ordered the tiramisu and chocolate hazelnut cake, both were dry and clearly old. Would not recommend

Wish I read the reviews first before coming here.

First time I came here the cakes looked dry so I decided to come back another day. Second time coming back, it looked a little better so I decided to give it a try, but the slice I got was half dry and half moist, it was also really crummy. It honestly tasted kind of homemade like someone learning how to make cake for the first time. The cheesecake tasted good, but overpriced for the portion they give you. I definitely would not be coming back here.

Thank you Brynne & Elissa for the beautiful Red Velvet cake. It taste better than it looks! I'm shocked there are not more employees (2) working. It almost feels understaffed. The workload is quite taxing and yet these two angels manage while offering great attentiveness to us customers and maintaining the place clean & presentable. I hope this review transpires into a wage increase for them and towards the direction of hiring more staff. Which is more than justifiable to reflect this expense. Given the success in revenue of this business. Please share this review with them:)

My daughter and I ordered for take out a slice of Savannah Cake and Banana Cream Pie. We were looking forward to having it at home after a very long day.
After one bite into each, we both commented on how bad they were. I believe the word we used to describe them was “disgusting”. The Savannah Cake was just a soggy Angel Food cake and the Banana Cream Pie was not fluffy and light. Both of them tasted like they had been on the shelve too long, or they definitely need new Bakers.
It was so disappointing and we will never return. Had I had the energy to get back into my car and return both, I would have. Especially considering the ridiculous price we paid for each.
When I called to let them know, the female who answered the phone was just lost for words, not knowing how to handle the complaint at all. That just led to more frustration.
Also, the place has gone downhill. No care whatsoever on making the inside an inviting place to enjoy a slice of horrible cake or pie.

The tasty desserts and charming decor were marred by very high prices and an onslaught of fruit flies. I'd love to come back here if there was a deep clean first.

I ordered a gluten free cheesecake to go and they packed a gluten cake. Very disappointed.

I got a cake here for children's birthday parties in previous years. Recently, I ordered a cake, and for $60, it was ridiculous. Tiny cake, with nothing but some machine printed birthday greeting. Never coming back here again.

This is the second time I’ve ordered a cake for a special occasion - and this time, only 2 days ahead! The coconut cream cake was AMAZING - but the fact you can always count on True Confections to get you what you need - delivered on time - priceless!
