Tsawwassen Medical Clinic

The receptionists at this clinic are the worst clerical staff I have ever dealt with anywhere. They are unhelpful, argumentative, catty, disrespectful, and generally just annoying to deal with. It's impossible to get them to help you in any way. They interject productive conversations with catty and annoying trash talk for no reason. They are generally uninterested in helping you in any way. It's honestly such a nuisance that it gets in the way of me even wanting to book an appointment as I just don't want to deal with them in any way. Please replace them with an online booking service as soon as possible so I can avoid them completely. This account is under a pseudonym, because obviously they have access to my medical files. I've been at this clinic for almost 25 years and I can't believe how bad they have gotten over the years. It used to be a lot better, but recently they have just gone off the deep end. I had a really bad interaction where they literally just made fun of me for being surprised that the doctor was on vacation and became argumentative, condescending and catty when I expressed concern about getting a prescription filled, instead of just informing me that I could get an emergency supply from my pharmacist. They literally just added more distress rather than simply informing me that I could still get my medication on an emergency supply. I can't overstate how many bad experiences I've had with them. It's been at least 5 times I've called and just gotten a disrespectful and unhelpful woman on the phone looking for any excuse to make fun of me and belittle me. I will still go here, because the doctors are excellent, but the receptionists need to be replaced. It's gone on for too long. Judging by the other reviews here, this is clearly an ongoing issue, for a long time. It's not hard to find competent clerical staff, and there is no excuse to keep them there if they treat people this poorly. I feel like the fact that we have a doctor shortage means people will take any doctor they can get, regardless of how bad the receptionists are, but the fact that we have to endure this level of disservice in the healthcare industry just to see our doctors is really sad.

Would give zero stars if I could. Ive been going to this Dr office since I was a kid and the receptionist has always been extremely rude. LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS AND DONT GO HERE. I live in North Delta and today, I went in and was 10 minutes late to my appointment (which i know is my fault, but got caught up in traffic from an accident) and the receptionist refused to let see me see the Doctor. I even called to let them know I was a bit behind and the receptionist told me to still come…just to tell me the doctor wouldnt see me. Obviously I got a little frustrated because they always make me wait 20-30 mins in the waiting room when i show up on time. The receptionist said “I dont think the doctor will see you” then when i asked if she could ask the doctor, the receptionist said “no. You shouldnt have been late”. I told her I understand that but she was being rude then she went to the other front desk ladies and told them not to book me another appointment because she “didnt like my attitude” At this time, the doctor I was supposed to see came out and it was a tall blonde lady (maybe Dr Hood?) and she said “Im the doctor ur supposed to see today and you need to leave. Its just a rash, if youre really ill you can go sit in emergency. ” I sat down to call my mom then they threatened to call the police and proceeded to tell me Im entitled and not going anywhere in life. The DOCTOR told me Im not going anywhere in life. All 4 ladies then laughed out loud at me while i was in tears on the phone with my mom. One day theyre going to make someone feel really bad who could be struggling with their mental health and cause that person to harm themself, which is crazy considering its a medical office.

I can't get ahold of their office to cancel an appointment for the past few weeks. The phone keeps ringing and nobody ever picks up. I tried finding an email address and no luck!

Zero stars! Absolutely horrible customer service! 19 times out of 20 you are placed on hold for over 15 minutes! Receptionist is quite rude and curt. Doctors are actually pretty good and thorough. It's just getting through to get the appointment that is so frustrating. So glad I finally found a different doctor that's NOT at this clinic!

Good staff but the phone system is awful it hangs up on you expecting you to call back at another time instead of putting you on hold

My previous Doctor was Dr. J. N Park. He was fantastic. Very thorough and very caring with his patients. Unfortunately he is now retired and I began seeing Dr. Ashraf Abulaban. I did not have a good experience with him, although I was always respectful. I wouldn't recommend him for female healthcare. I recently had a baby with my husband whom I've been with for 10 years (married for 5) and every appointment I had, he would ask if I was married/with the same partner to which was always the same answer. He never seemed to remember. Would he not add that to my file? This indicated to me that he didnt care to get to know his patients. This is just one example of a time I felt like he was disconnected or disinterested in his patients. I decided to have my prenatal care handled by a Midwifery Clinic which was fantastic.

I recently had to have a Diabetes Test after delivering my baby and he filled out the requisition incorrectly, indicating I was pregnant when in fact I was doing this testing 6 weeks postpartum as discussed with him at the time he wrote the requisition? After fasting for 12 hours and being away from my breastmilk-fed baby to have this test completed, the Lab could not do it unless the form was corrected. Staff were not able to reach him at all (during a weekday). This was a very time sensitive issue. I was able to have another Doctor write a new and correct requisition so I could complete the test the same day.

He didn't ever congradulate me or ask how I was doing health wise after delivery which I found strange for a family doctor. I feel that his lack of bedside manners and inexperience particularly with female healthcare hinders him from being a good family GP. I think he can do better. Invest your time in caring for your patients and be more present.

To the wonderful staff at the clinic. I thank you very much for your caring and kind interactions over the last 15 years. I have since moved on to a new GP more suited to my healthcare needs.

Agree with everyone here about there rude, verbally abusive, callous receptionist who gets her jolly's off by trying to make as many patients cry a day that she can! Horrible, horrible service that brings down the review of this entire clinic. I'm surprised with the amount of negative reviews that she still has a paying job here to abuse to patients

I have autism and don't like doctors dr.martin has always reassured me in anything I tell him. I feel really comfortable with him. And he gives the best hugs thank you dr.martin for all your hard work

I’ve been going to this clinic for over 30 years and Dr. Martin is fantastic. Everyone at this clinic has always been friendly and professional. They are busy and I understand why they are sometimes short and to the point. Get some thicker skin people!

Dr. Wladichuk's been a great family doctor for years, and I'm not really sure what people are on about with the receptionist? They're friendly, professional, and keep things short.

Probably the rudest receptionists I've ever dealt with. The doctor is completely fine but some of the front desk staff are not exactly pleasant to deal with.

Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. Hung up the phone in tears because of the way I was treated. I had a question to ask before making the appointment but I was cut off 3 times. Every time I tried to speak I was interrupted and the receptionist did not even let me explain that I needed to make an in person appointment. The call was less than 1 minute. Absolutely appalled and will be going to the walk in clinic because the treatment I received by this receptionist was appalling.

When 10 out of 22 reviews are based on how rude a receptionist is.you would have thought she would have been fired by now. Neesless to say, super rude receptionist.

I called in over a week in advance for an appointment, an appointment wasn’t given until it was well to late. 2 weeks I was to wait. I followed their process, and when it was too late, and my doctor on vacation, apparently nothing could be done. Why wouldn’t they deal with this before the doctor left for vacation? When I asked this question, without any anger, was accused of abusing the staff and hug up on. My issue has never been dealt with! I’ve been left wondering what to do!

Dr. Martin saved my wife from dying 21 years ago. He has been our family doctor since. He and the Tsawwassen Medical Clinic have always made time for us when needed. I would never go anywhere else. Also I would like to add this is not a walk in clinic and I know that there very busy with there own patients. Most likely not interested in cash paying customers who walk in off the street.

Zero stars. Horrible, absolutely disgusting customer service from receptionist. Extremely rude on the phone. We were looking for a private clinic to pay. She hung up the phone and said " we are not a walk-in clinic" Extremely unhelpful to paying customers. Completely disrespectful! I would tell the owners to fire.

Dr Martin is an absolutely fantastic GP. He's really great at making you feel heard. It's not a walk in clinic as an FYI.

Was just there and have to say he was very professional and very lucky to have a family doctor and reception at both counters very friendly
