We'd just gotten back from a trip to Japan, and were missing our Hojicha ice cream so I stopped by @tsujiri_bc in Metrotown and bought a Hojicha float for my daughter and I to share.

There was barely any liquid in the float. It was really more of a soft serve ice cream than a float. This hit the spot as the Hojicha ice cream is really what we were after. For some reason, the menu at Tsujiri doesn't offer an option of having Hojicha ice cream on its own. Only in a float.

Didn't quite match up to the Hojicha ice creams that we'd had in Japan but for a nearby option that was a short drive away, and not a plane ride away. I was happy with this!

I tried Shiratama Parfait and Yuzu Citron Parfait (matcha), and it was so good. Also, don’t forget to try their matcha cheesecake.

Ordered Yuzu Citron Float. It's quite good. I got the combo flavour ice cream. I like the matcha flavour more. I think it goes better with the dairy flavour. At the bottom it is the yuzu slushy. It's quite refreshing for the summer or when you get hot from walking in the heated mall

The price it's a premium side. If you have the extra change and looking for something other than bbt or coffee. This is worth a try

The lady on duty was friendly and helpful. She also served the drink swiftly too.

I came here on September 28 around 6: 30pm. We were the only customers around that time so we didn’t expect to wait long at all. Was a mistake to come since we were extremely disappointed.

The girl working around that time was incredibly rude and quite clearly did not want to be there. When we approached the cash register to place our orders, we saw the girl squatting on the floor and scrolling on her phone. She looked up at us but made no move to approach us to take our order. After waiting a couple of minutes in awkward silence, she finally decided to slowly walk towards the register, still scrolling and playing on her phone.

While taking the order, she maintained a very bored and disinterested tone. She obviously hates her job and just wants out. I don’t think she said more than THREE words in every sentence and we had to clarify multiple times about what we wanted to order since she wasn’t paying attention. Somehow she couldn’t understand that we wanted hot drinks. Not only could she not properly input our order POS system, she kept checking her phone while taking our order. I don’t know how this place trains their staff, but playing on your phone while interacting with a customer is completely unacceptable. I have never been this appalled by someone with such a bad attitude. If you don’t want to work there then find a different job.

On top of that, the drinks took incredibly long to make and by this point we have already waited 10+ minutes just to place our orders. I really wanted to like this place, but the drinks were not even filled to the top and mediocre at best. If you’re charging your customers almost $30 for three drinks (which were awfully small), at least have the decency to do the bare minimum by treating them with respect.

Paid $9+ including tips for this little amount of matcha frappe that is even lesser than Starbuck’s tall size but for such an expensive price! The girl who made it didn’t even fill the drink up to the edge and she had had so many left in blender. Will not be returning back!

Very delicious drinks and treats. I am giving a low rating to bring attention to the lack of staff here. There are usually long line-ups, and only one staff doing both, taking orders and making orders. Incredibly hard workers, but owner/management need to realize theyre losing business (I seen people turn around and leave instead of waiting) and making people wait 20-25 minutes for their drinks, especially on weekends.

Never get the shiratama. It was not edible the way it was served and leaves hands sticky and it's way too sweet and makes you SICK strange it was like the worker didn't want the customer to know a flavour is supposed to be chosen too. Also why does it ask you to leave a tip for already overpriced items which can only be take out

While the quality and taste are super yummy, it is quite pricey considering the portions that you’ll be getting. Other than that, staff are super passionate and the presentation is absolutely stunning!

One of my fav dessert drink places. I always get the hojicha frappe (better without the yogurt) or the float. Also workers are v nice. Yummy and slay

Everything is pricey and the portions do not seem to correlate, but somehow everyone, including myself keeps going back. For this location, it's a pretty unique store.you can't really find a similar menu elsewhere in the mall. And when you're feeling stuffy in your winter jacket after a few hours of shopping in a crowded mall, their cold drinks and soft serve seem the most inviting thing in the world. I also appreciate their service. The staff seem genuinely passionate about their menu and happy to patiently explain various items to help you choose a drink of choice. Embarrassed as I am to be consuming a modestly sized $8-9 drink, I might just do it again if the opportunity arises.

Great place for Matcha lovers!

I'm a regular at this store. The staff and owner are very friendly. Their signature matcha cheesecake is a must!

We ordered the hojicha and matcha float. Hojicha has a strong burnt rice flavor and has no sugar added, so I’d only recommend it to the tea lovers.

As for the mixed ice cream float, it was delicious for anyone. Ice cream has a strong tea flavour, but the sweetness balanced it out well; I personally liked the matcha over the hojicha, but would recommend getting mix for your first time. They also have an option for soy milk if you’re lactose intolerant.

I’m a huge Japanese tea fan, so I’d definitely recommend this place if you are too. Although it’s overpriced, it’s a quality product and this is definitely a place I’d return to on a hot day!

Nice selection of japanese desserts if you're up for something a little different. The portions do not look like it's very much but it is very rich in flavour.

The treats here are so good! Matcha is a super food, so I don't feel as guilty indulging myself here.

Great presentation but lacking flavour and depth. Quite expensive. No area nearby to eat unfortunately.

I have been here a few times now but have procrastinated on posting a review. The 3 times I've visited Tsujiri at Metrotown I have had good experiences. The gentlemen that has served me everytime has been super friendly & educational about their product.

I ordered their hojicha float & Shiratama parfait. Both options were very yummy. Great tea flavour in all of their dessert options and a nice treat to have on any kind of day:)

Food quality has been consistent all 3 times that I've been there. If I crave tea flavored desserts in the greater Vancouver area, this is my go to!

High quality and authentic selection of teas and tea related products. I like how you can really taste the tea and it's not overpowered by sweetness.

Their floats are a must try!

Try by curiosity. I order an Matcha Float and was very good. Is like between a drink and Ice cream.

Great 0-matcha cheesecake. I would have very happily given it 5 stars except that my order seemed to have been forgotten and arrived 3 1/2 hours late.but once it arrived, it was delicious. Once I called in to ask about my cake, the staff moved quickly to get it delivered. I will definitely order from them again.

First time at this location!

Size of the drink went down for some reason, not the same and definitely not worth 8$.
Lid: cup ratio is funny, check the pictures.

A unique experience for high quality green tea! The yuzu o’matcha is a personal favourite. Friendly staff and very consistent quality!

Small location near Superstore. Everything is to-go which is okay.

I ordered the brown sugar parfait. Super delicious! It has a strong but not overpowering matcha flavour. The matcha ice cream was smooth and not "grainy" which I liked. The toppings are traditional and compliment the ice cream well. I think the price you pay is worth it for the quality. Reminds me of the matcha shops in Japan!

I have been drinking Starbucks green-tea latte for years. Tried one at Tsujiri today and OMG.it's delicious! For the same price, I would not go back to starbucks anymore. I also bought the matcha and made some green tea at home; it's as tasty and cheaper for everyday green tea drinkers!

Their O'Matcha float with matcha soft serve is amazing! Not overly sweet and very refreshing. Its one of my faves.

If you prefer a stronger tea flavour I suggest the hojicha float instead. It has a slight bitter after taste but its still very good.
