I had an account here and went to consign a few more items this week. They informed me that they closed my account because I hadn’t been in a little over year. I spent 4 months of the last year in the hospital and then came home with a baby that had been born 3 months early…so suffice to say consignment had not been my focus. I find this rule so bizarre…I can no longer consign with them unless I reopen an account by bringing at least $1000 retail worth of items in at once.

Their prices are fair enough & they have a good selection of a variety of clothing types. Definitely a go to thrift shop!

Hard to find anything online when 90% of the items are marked as “sold out”, I wish there was a way to filter this…

Had a wonderful experience at this location today. Katie and Xavier were so helpful, super knowledgeable of their inventory and just absolute gems of human beings. The store had a large selection with a broad price range and size selection. Highly recommend for anyone looking to consignment/thrift/second hand shop

Excellent customer service and a wonderful collection of items that are decently priced. I was helped by an employee named Sally. She even went around the store picking out pieces she thought I would like. Will definitely be going back for more.

Disappointing. Nice stuff but disengaged employees to busy talking among themselves. Still had summer sale signs up for June & July. Nice to know you offer 50% off during the summer. But it’s almost October.

I went to Turnabout on Commercial Drive yesterday with a friend and we were blown away by the exceptional customer service and great variety of clothing. In particular, Xavier offered his services as a personal shopper) and totally scored on several outfits for us. He went above and beyond what we would have expected. Sally was also very helpful and friendly.
Thanks so much for a great shopping experience! We will definitely be back.

I have browsed this store a few times, and like other locations, it is definitely flooded with the usual Lululemon and Aritzia stuff - which isn't really my style (additionally, the thought of supporting an utter misogynist and body shamer like CW makes my stomach turn), but I have found the odd item of interest, though I find the non-sale prices to be somewhat high. I also don't feel that this location necessarily aligns with the culture of 'the drive', nor seems to place a priority for acquiring sustainable brands - though shopping second-hand is more sustainable still than buying new.

I came in to consign some items on a Saturday, several of which were unique items in excellent shape and/or new with tags, from Ganni, Furla, Marc Jacobs, m0851, Bally, vintage etc. - and was basically shouted at (by an older blonde woman with an accent) that they weren't accepting items and that the 'buyers were out of town', while two other staff were standing by.

Odd, given that most consignment places (Toronto, Montreal, Calgary) can readily assess your items by someone on site, so this seemed strange, and given that it was a Saturday, when one would think that there might be folks cleaning out their closet?

Anyhow, it left an unpleasant impression, and perhaps I am not the target audience that this store is looking to service.

I like this store, but my experience with their online purchases was irritating, horrible and annoying. It takes forever to process an order, they don't reply to your inquiries. For example I purchased a winter jacket online 2 weeks ago and they still didn't process it.i will never use their online system again.

Lovely staff nonstop deals. Ive shopped Vancouver for a while and I think this is one of the best spots in vancouver to shop.

I've been shopping at Turnabout for nearly 10 years. However, recently I was impressed by the sales team at their 4th Ave location. I was in their store and found a beautiful dress, yet, I left without purchasing it. After thinking about it, I decided to do it. Joy and her team navigated my purchase of the dress and shipping it to me. The sales associates, Sarah and Monica went above and beyond to make this happen. While, Joy personally emailed me and coordinated getting the dress to me. Thank you Joy, Monica and Sarah! In this unprecedented time, your kind efforts truly blew me away and were just the kindness we all need these days.

The customer service is always so friendly. They have amazing quality products and "in trend" items. Favourite turnabout by far:)

Beautiful shop! First time customer. Large selection, tons of great pieces from a number of high end brands that I found to be reasonably priced and in good condition. The staff were wonderful and were very helpful when I had questions for them. Will be doing a 'Turnabout tour' to the 7 locations when I am back in province!

1. Lady had no clue what the dior bag she had was called or that it should come with a strap.
2. I'm pregnant and I needed to use the bathroom. They didn't let me.
3. Some clothes smelt funny.

I ended up buying some stuff despite the rudeness and lack of service. Low key wish I didn't.

I shopped in this store two days ago with a friend to update my wardrobe. The store manager and sales staff were amazing. The manager helped me personally. She listened to what I needed and to my responses to the options she picked for me, and ended up selecting amazing pieces that now have expanded my style with some flair. Their selection is also large, so it was easy to end up with many things that would work well for me. Plus, most dresses were on sale for 30% off, an extra bonus as the prices were already quite reasonable. Needless to say, I ended up with a LOT of excellent items. My boyfriend was very impressed with the first new look.

Always sonething new, prices are reasonable and brands are top quality! The staff have ALWAYS been incredibly helpful no later which location you go to or how busy it is. Great atmosphere and well-looked-after shop:)

Attempted to consign with Turnabout last week and wanted to share my experience.

I had called the store on Tuesday to confirm the process listed online and was told to bring in as many items as possible so that I could get an account started. I arrived on Thursday and was told the consignment buyer was out sick. I understand that things happen, and if not for the way the rest of my visit went, this would not have been an issue. Another employee looked over some of my items, then asked me to bring in the additional ones I had in my car so that I could meet the $700 appraisal threshold needed to start an account. She finished looking over the items, called the buyer on the phone, and then told me that the $475 of items she had chosen did not meet the $600 threshold needed for an account. She then stated that I could come back “another time” and their buyer may be interested in doing a buy-out for my items (25% of the appraisal cost vs.the 40% you receive if you consign).

First of all, the amount listed online to start an account is $300. Not sure why I was told these much higher amounts in store.

Secondly, if the threshold is indeed between $600-$700, this is prohibitively high for the average person looking to consign, and it seems they are trying to encourage buy-outs in order to maximize their profits.

Finally, if there is only one person in the store who is capable of doing the buy-outs, it should be communicated to first-time consignors that they would do well to contact the location they intend to visit to ensure the buyer is in fact at the store that day.

Overall, it was a negative experience, and in the future I’ll look elsewhere to consign my items.

This is a very small Turnabout shop with limited choices. No luck for L or XL women. No men section here. Staff are friendly though.
