Turning Point Restaurant

I ended up staying one night in Golden. So I went here to have dinner. My family of 4 ate pizza, carbonara pasta, and onion soup. Among them, the onion soup was delicious but salty. Still, I enjoyed the pasta and pizza. One thing that was disappointing about this place was that it felt like the server didn't welcome us. So I gave this place 4 stars.

Great tasting pizza! Not sure if it was because we went 1.25 hours before close, but the waiter pretty much ignored us the whole time. The service was not good, but I'd highly recommend everything else

Excellent restaurant while visiting Golden! The food was delicious (I had the bison shepherds pie and it was the best shepherds pie from a restaurant I’ve ever had). Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend!

I went for the BBQ Elk Burger since I'd never had elk before, and I have to say, it didn't disappoint. I was a bit worried it might be dry, but the elk patty turned out tender, though not as juicy as a beef patty.

I treated myself to an upgrade with yam fries, and it was the best decision I made all night. They were perfectly fried and paired nicely with the garlic aioli dip.

I also ordered the soup of the day, which was Cream of Chicken, and it was a comforting choice for the chilly weather.

The service was excellent, and the place had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It was clean and had a cozy, family-style restaurant ambiance. Plus, parking was easy and plentiful.

Terrible service. My husband and I watched as the servers were blatantly racist to a young couple dining here. They behaved as though they couldn't wait for them to leave the restaurant. What a horrible scene to witness. Made us not want to return.

This is not a well run restaurant. The waitresses were rude to my boyfriend, probably because he is half black. They basically treated us like we didn't eat our food fast enough so they could get us out. The food wasn't worth the price we paid, the portions were small as though they were trying to save money by charging more for small portions, like get over yourselves the food wasn't that good, your a small town side of the road eatery, not a high class restaurant for sure

Came through in the 11th hr to help with a dinner with out of town guests. Great Food, Great Service & Great Times.

Awsome food, great service. Very friendly. No problem adding or subtracting items from our order. Eg. Fettuccine Alfredo, sub with spaghetti noodles.no problem.

Careless with food allergy issues.ordered their very clearly marked dairy free pizza, but when i got home noticed the flavor was off.got a few pieces in before i called and asked what cheese substitute they use, and they replied "we actually don't have any right now. " so instead of any type of communication, they just used regular cheese.they didn't tell me, and it was marked as dairy free.now i have to deal with a pretty serious lactose reaction.complete negligence. I've spent a lot of time working in the food industry, and understand things can get mixed up, but to advertise something as allergen free like that, and then just say "oh well, " is absurd.steer clear if you have any kind of dietary restriction.i even thanked the manager on the way out for having vegan options, and she said "no problem" right to my face.

Really good food here. They have 3 cooks who make great dishes. Recommend Fetuccine and poutine. They have big portion of the dishes

Gf, dog and I stopped to eat on our way to Calgary on a long drive from Coquitlam, BC and ended up on at Turning Point. It was stinking hot and we initially went to the patio that had the best shade with literally nobody around but were told we needed to sit in another spot in the front of the patio (directly under the sun). I had heard people in Golden were very friendly but I guess we didn't really run into the kindest ppl and I mean it was Tuesday so not the best time to mingle with ppl. Food was as forgettable as the last cup of coffee I ate but the service was satisfactory, nothing that really stuck out from the waitress. She could tell we were cooking but did nothing about it.

Very unhappy with my food this time it's like the chef didn't even taste it before he sent it out other times were great though

Came here for lunch with the family on the way to Kelowna. Worth the stop. We sat on the patio as the inside was super cold with the AC. Service was friendly and fast. Food was great. We had shepherds pie, chicken fingers, mac and cheese, and Caesar salad. Everything was yummy. Washrooms were clean too. Will be back if we come through again.

Swung by this place on my way to Canmore. This place is a gem! I never tried a pan pizza with a thicker crust since I have always been a thick crust kinda guy. Wow was I blown away at how good it was! The service was a tag place despite there was only 4 tables during lunch hours but the food was good. Also their patio is dog friendly which was really nice. If you are driving through Golden BC, you have to stop by this place.

These people are not interested in giving customers a good experience, food was decent but the people who work there are not classy. Rushed service and hardly any attention paid during the meal. Paid way too much for that kind of treatment

Definitely worth coming in off the highway for! Food was delicious, came as ordered, was well priced and came out quickly. Service was fantastic as well! The kids' pizza was amazing!

We chose this place because they have great reviews on their pizza, and the food did not disappoint. We had two small pizzas and a side of yam fries, all of which were terrific. The yam fries were a huge portion, and the pizzas had great, pan crusts, lots of cheese and good toppings (Barbeque chicken and pepperoni with mushroom). Also delicious cold the next morning.

The service was a little strange though. We came in for take out, you go into the front desk which is beside the bar and before you hit the indoor dining area.

It took awhile for anyone to come out and help us (we may have missed one of those bells on the counter?) and when someone did, it didn't feel very welcoming. By no means was she rude, but we just felt like afterthoughts, which was weird. Plus she said that pizza prices were different for take out orders (?) but didn't elaborate on why or if that meant higher or lower.

We will definitely order food from here again, but will use delivery next time.

Smokers. 5 feet away from diners. Loud table guests.and no alcohol in my $10 drink. Could t wait to get out of there

Very little sauce so it made the pizza very dry. Not that impressed after reading the reviews. Maybe it’s a one off, next time I’m passing through Golden I will pass on this place for pizza.

I would highly recommend Turning Point to anyone in Golden! It was soooo good! Drinks were made to perfection, as was the food! We got the penne carbonara and it was definitely one of my favorites I have ever had! We also had the beef dip and it was also a hit! Highly recommend! Very nice atmosphere as well, and great staff!

Very nice place, food was great and staff was friendly. I would recommend to try their butter chicken and their cocktails. Wide variety of food to select from. Will definitely come back

We had a couple overnight road trips to Golden. TTP food was great in both quality and portions for our team, and the players all had such rave reviews of the food that we chose to only go here for all meals. I highly recommend eating here. Clean and great service.

Over priced. The food was gross.tasted like it was cooked in a microwave. Service was nice. But not worth the prices. $18 for Deep Fried Pickles?

Food was alright, but not 25$ for a burger good. On a trip to Golden, a group of us recently ordered delivery from Turning Point. It was close to closing time and I am sure they were busy. I placed my order and all was good. The food arrived a lot faster than they said it would. When we dug into our meal is where it started to get annoying. So for a 25 dollar meal, we were not given napkins, utensils or any condiments. Which I found odd, as they delivered to a motel. I started to get a little concerned, wondering how I was going to eat my side salad I ordered and paid 2$ more for. Only to be surprised when I opened my container to find fries as my side, not the salad I ordered and paid for. As the restaurant was now closed, no one was answering my call. I would not order from them again, quite disappointed.

Oct 2021, Very friendly staff good food when we told them about the bad experience we had at Kapristo Lodge they give us useful tip to stay at other place at Golden.

Ordered take out last night, phenomenal, ordered take out again tonight! This is the spot the locals go, now I know why 10/10

Very average meals. The menu is extensive and both value and quality vary from dish to dish. I think the turning point would benefit from reducing the menu and only offering meals they can do a great job of.
As a thin crust person I don't like their pizza crust, its very thick and bready.

The only reason why I give 3 stars is because the pizza was great. The cesar salad was a total rip off for 16$. (Little portion without chicken)

First time dining here after far too many years of visiting Golden regularly and not trying it out. I recommend this place for its great menu selection and quality food. Four of us went and no one ordered the same thing. There was a prime rib special, carbonara, thai chicken curry and I had the Greek salad with chicken. All excellent. It was mentioned the carbonara needed a little something extra, meaning add a protein. My Greek salad was so so good but had like half a red onion in it, a little overpowering. I picked through it though and brought the extra onions home to sauté up with my scrambled eggs the next morning.and the morning after that. Great service, nice atmosphere.

Good was delicious and good value for the money. Waitresses were super friendly. Would go back there anytime

Nice little restaurant with a family restaurant vibe. Decent prices with friendly service and good food. My only gripe was that they didn't have ingredients for several items on the menu and didn't inform us until we tried to order those items. When you have hungry children and just want food on a table in as short a time as possible, having to figure out another option for them is the last thing anyone wants.

The food was terrific and the portions a good size! Plus, even though we showed up less than an hour before closing, we still received great service.

Didn't get a chance to dine there, even if the website said they were open for dining in. Disappointing because it rated high. Maybe when covid is over and I happen to be driving through.

I had a mushroom pizza and it was good. The sauce was not spread out well, though; many spots were dry while others were filled. It might be best to ask for a little extra sauce. Others at my table had hamburger steak (great) and lasagna (fantastic).

GOOD Pizza should be easy to cook - A NO BRAINER! Prices are good but our pizza was NOT. We stopped in on our way to Vancouver to grab a zza to eat on the road. The zza did not taste good as it was undercooked and we both got a very bad stomach ache. Very disappointing and WOULD NOT recommend Turning Point pizza.

My friends & I tried the pizza and it was very good. The portion and size and the taste was very was worth it! However, the wait time was a bit long and the coke didn’t taste good. I think it was from the fountain

We stopped in for lunch and had a wonderful lunch. Our server was delightful and although we were so full we took a baklava home. It was amazing! Loved the experience and the food. Thanks!

Outstanding food! We got the chicken wrap and the falafel wrap and it was delicious. Reasonable prices and in a nice location, you are surrounded by mountains.

First of all very rude and unprofessional waitresses. They desperately need to be trained on customer service. Secondly, they charge for dipping sauces and don't even provide them. I was charged for 6 and got 1. Never again.

Not sure what this place was going for. Came in on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch and the vibe there was similar to being in a funeral home - quiet, boring music. You could hear a pin drop. From the photos, the place looked a little more trendy and fun. Food was okay, service was lacking but not sure if they were short staffed or something.

We had an amazing experience. The service was very friendly and very fast. For 4 meals, an appy, and drinks, it took less than 35 minutes. Cute place with a nice semi-shaded patio!

The food was delicious, I'd highly recommend. The people here are so nice, they've even offered water for my service dog!

Rude and disrespectful staff, incorrect orders, missing sides and dips, horrible service. Charged for 6 dips, gave only 1.
After ordering only chicken pizza, our pizza had bacon. Online ordering kept us waiting for long before taking our order.

Amazing food and great service. I like their patio as well however they have A LOT of flowers on the patio (they look beautiful), due to my allergies it was difficult when the wind was going in my direction. If you're sensitive to floral smells maybe stay inside.

Fantastic place to eat. Big portions, plenty of selection. We had the calamari starter, prime rib special, chicken/calamari/Greek salad, and kids had meals. Place had lots of room for social distancing and other precautions in place.

Not too bad, and the waitress was very kind. The issue was the food. We ate Elk burger, TP burger, butter chicken, and two other kids' meals. None of them were tasty, unfortunately. Considering their price, it was so disappointing.

I'd call it low-key fancy. The food was decent and the atmosphere was clean, but you don't feel out of place in your travelling clothes. We had the 14" pizza between two and it was more than enough. Definitely happy with this place, and not too pricey!

June 20th, 2019: Ordered cheese pizza only. Wait time was super long even though they were not so busy. Our host (Joseline, I believe her name was) was just fantastic. She kept checking on us if we needed anything while we were waiting on food and while we were eating. Very professional and friendliest attitude the whole time. Pizza overly well-done, but tasted alright.

Wow. Everything is perfect. They didn't forget the cutlery when asked, it's all fresh, delivered fast, and tasty as all hell.

This is where we will order from whenever we come by Golden. 10/10

The gnocchi was amazing, the wine was reasonably priced, and I will surely be back. (Side note the service was awesome!)

Food is usually good but if your looking for good service, don't bother. I've been there several times hoping it would get better but no, it doesn't.

Home town vibe, pretty much everything you could want on the menu, all well done. Not high class fancy city dinning just everything solid. If you have a hard time making a decision on a menu leave yourself extra time! Always enjoy a meal here and pizza is my go to!

Restaurant moyen (repas groupe). Je n'ai pas pris un repas individuel. Vaut le coup d'œil pour la salle de restaurant avec son plafond et ses drapeaux.

Slight update. Dined in tonight and food was ok, spaghetti tasted funny but fettuccine was delicious. Still i think we will stick to pizza.

Pizza was amazing. I think this will be a regular stop when heading through town.

We got fantastic service from Liz. Margherita pizza was delish.the fish and chips is huge and enough to share with another

We loved the food here my wife had the beef dip she said it was the best she's ever had. I was sceptical till my fish and chips came out. WOW amazing and two huge fillets of cod. We definitely recommend eating here when in Golden B. C.

Enjoyed a late lunch here on our travels. It was amazing. I had the cauliflower crust flatbread.soooo good! My husband had the beef dip and it didn't dissappoint.
Next time we are in the area we will stop by again!

Good service and food. They have a decent size patio and inside has a lot of seating as well. Good portions and reasonable pricing. A good spot to eat at overall.

Came here after a long drive from Kamloops. The food menu has loads of choice and accessible for vegetarians and vegans. Be warned that the pizzas are huge though! 12 inch meant taking half of it home in a doggy bag.

As far as small town restaurants go this one is top notch. I have never been in the Golden town site before and the family wanted to go have a nice meal. Turning Point delivered.

The food was prepared nicely and the service was on point.

Prices were a bit more than I expected but maybe that is a regional thing. Ie) wings for $17.

Service is great! We ordered a pizza which was okay, along with the appetizer. Only thing was that the pizza was excessively drenched in garlic.

Kid menu was great as was the fish my daughter ordered. Drink menu was boring and the tuna poke was bland.
