I had two exceptional movers help me out on New Years Eve. They were friendly, communicated very well, and took perfect care of all my furniture. I would definitely recommend Two Small Men with Big Hearts and will use them with my future moves.

The movers were prompt, pleasant and efficient. The communication with the office staff was excellent; the instructions very clear and easy to follow. My move went off effortlessly.

Movers were excellent and very efficient. They arrived early and have everything loaded and unloaded in a shorter time than I expected! Super easy to deal with and very responsive to questions.

Reasonably priced, quick and efficient. The movers were polite and one (unfortunately missed his name) was so friendly and made us feel at ease.

A couple things that could use improvement; they didn't use shoe covers when bringing items into the new house. I didn't mind much in the old place as we had to clean anyway but I mentioned that we just paid to have the carpets professionally cleaned in the new house and they wore their shoes inside and upstairs. The movers also didn't ask where we wanted furniture placed beyond which room. My husband and I did not have a chance to be specific where the dressers or bed needed to be placed and had to reposition it all ourselves.

Overall, would use them again but be direct or have spots marked for furniture so the crew knows where to put it and request that they use shoe covers indoors.

The moving truck decided to show up to move our neighbors, and block our driveway. We actually had to bove in a desk, and a bed with our own truck. The crew watched my wife park down the hill and lug the desk up, and my watched my daughter park down the hill as well. Not a big deal of course, except, all they had to do was knock on the door, or say something to the people they actually saw living in the house whose driveway was blocked. Ignoramt.

Moved us to Ontario from Nanaimo in 2020. They packed our car in the trailer with a huge shelf over the car on which they packed boxes, furniture etc. They didn't put said shelf high enough to allow clearance for the roof of the car. Needless to say, roof got badly damaged during the trip across from bouncing. This moving company and its affiliate refused to pay for damages simply stating it was a matter for my car insurance provider. They even refused to pay my insurance deductible. I paid over 10 grand for this move. Nothing but bad service from these people. Avoid at all costs!

"I DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO LEAVE A STAR. THEY ARE NOT STAR WORTHY AT ALL!
ABSOLUTLEY HORRIFIC, AWEFUL, COMPLETE RIP OFF!
A quoted 4 - 7 hour job took them 15 hours. Two trucks, four men, they started at 11 am and the last box was off at 2: 15 am. Two of the guys worked while the other two dragged their feet the entire time. We had to eventually help them. They broke stuff, they complained, they were just the worst and I would not recommend them to ANYONE for ANY job. I did not pay the entire bill as it was WAY over I mean WAY WAY over what was quoted.

Saw the truck, thought it was cute and local, decided to give them a try for a local move - very disappointed.

The Movers: A young man (early 20s) and his grandpa (73 - not a guess but was mentioned during the move).

The Move: One bedroom suite to a one bedroom apartment, 2kms apart.

The Cost-Time: 9 hours, $1000. All they did was move pre-packed boxes, furniture, etc. Start time: 9am, Finish time: 6pm (little after).

I had everything packed and waiting. Movers came with wrong sized truck even though I booked a large truck, requiring them to make multiple trips.

While I can only imagine how physically difficult and exhausting moving in, these men did not move quickly. The young man had indicated that their company doesn't rush jobs, and he was not exaggerating. They worked frustratingly slow and were inefficient with their trips and elevator loading. Several trips to the apartment included only one item on a trolly and requiring only one men. The TV rode the elevator alone, another time - a solo chair. My landlord even texted me about ow slow and inefficient the two men worked.

Had difficulty parking, even though directed to the correct spot. Opted to not park in the designated area and then the older man sassed my Landlord who had to ask them to move the truck as they were blocking the driveway. They had originally put down a roller so as to not dirty the floors and carpets but quickly ended up kicking that out of the way and then removing it altogether.

I moved earlier in the year with a company I am very satisfied with and recommend - Consider It Done - but wanted to give another small business, business. Consider It Done moved me 5kms across the highway from a one bedroom to a one bedroom. They took 6 hours and cost under $700. Two Small Men moved me 2kms, on the same side of the highway, from a one bed to a one bed (with less stuff now after purging) and it took them 9 hours and cost $1000. Again, I empathize with the exhaustive nature of moving but these men seemed to move at a snail's pace.

At the end of the day, when the young man was calling the itinerary in for the final bill amount to the head office, he only subtracted 15 minutes for smoke breaks. Both men smoked, and they had said that they stopped for coffee and smokes on the way over and deducted the 15 minutes. I don't mean to sound wretched and say that they are not allowed to take paid breaks, because I have no problem with that and offered them snacks and water, but to say in a 9 hour day that they only took a 15 minute smoke break, I found that to be dishonest.

All in all, I was surprised by how much more expensive it was, but more than that, how much longer it took. Less stuff and less distance this time around, yet more time and more money.

Moving is exhausting and I wasn't doing the heavy lifting. The slow pace and the extra long day just seemed to drag on and I was tired and hungry myself by the end of it. By the time they finally left in the evening, I had little energy to want to tackle any of it.

I would not recommend this company, nor would I use them again, unfortunately.

Brad and Lawrence were awesome! Great sense of humour, very helpful and respectful. We had some pretty heavy items but kept a smile the whole way. Would definitely recommend these 2, especially if you're from the east coast!

I didnt personally hire them, my neighbors did but the amount of cussing coming from their mouths the entire time they were here was really a bad reflection on the company as a whole. Definitely not something I would want to listen to again.

Just wanted to say thank you very much to Dave and Tyler and Jeff and Ian and all the guys in Victoria who Moved My Brother's possessions from Victoria to Calgary. These guys are phenomenal Packers and exceptional Movers. If I lived in Victoria I would definitely use them all the time. Thanks guys!

Just watched one of thier trucks blow a stop sign so it could cut off another vehicle and speed through a school zone. Keep kids safe and get them off the road.

We hired two small men because we had used them for moves in the past and we were quite happy with them. This time was horrible. They arrived an hour late because of traffic but the two men who were working the job told my partner and myself they had a job the night before that was bigger than expected and they had to finish unpacking that load that morning. When they arrived they came with a small trailer on the back of the truck, if you are going to hire them make sure to get an actual truck. They spent a long time trying to fit everything in and couldn’t get everything. For the most part the two men moving were nice, the younger guy I believe is named Tyler was much stronger and did most of the move himself. We could see he was frustrated most of the time. We had two pick ups before the delivery. Due to the smaller trailer they said they would have to do a second pick up later but it would be on them at no cost. When we all arrived at the new house we had to leave to get our walk thru of the other house finished. While speaking to the movers that we were leaving and my mom was coming they became angry and stating payment had to be made or else they would have to pay for the move themselves. I stated my mom was on her way and will be paying them when they were done. Both movers were angry and I was getting there too but then it worked out once they realized that it would be ok. At the new house they walked thru the newly cleaned carpets with their dirty shoes and no booties which we later found out from their dispatcher that they are movers and don’t bring booties. The move was done October 31st and we were supposed to have the second delivery done by Friday at their cost. On Friday the younger delivery texted my brother to arrange pick up and delivery (I was at work and couldn’t be there) then later in the afternoon he texted back saying they couldn’t do it until Saturday. On Saturday we found out that there was no delivery men available and it would be picked up on Monday morning at 9am. Now on Sunday we received a call stating the delivery wasn’t at cost from them but we would be charged because the manager never agreed to them covering the cost. The dispatcher returned our call and I was actually always impressed by him and thought he was a very nice person to talk to until he started to yell at me on this phone call. He also said that the movers don’t mean anything and they are just grunt workers & only decisions made by the manager were valid. He said they were at the bottom which (as a boss of my business) is not a great thing to say about your employees or colleagues. He also got angry because he was calling me back on his day off with his three children in the car. At the end while I was just trying to get him to calm down he hung up on me. Looking forward to talking with the manager tomorrow in the afternoon. Hopefully he has a nicer temperament than the dispatcher.
Overall, our move cost over $700 and was incomplete. They showed up late and lied about why they were late. The truck trailer made for a longer move and did not fit everything. The second pick up is still not done and will cost us more even though we were told it was on them. Dealing with the dispatcher was great until he became angry & rude. The movers were doing the best they could but also had times of being rude. Yes, moving is stressful and that’s why you hire movers. This company was the favourite moving companies in my family. Now, I would not recommend them. They don’t treat you well and are very rude. They made the moving process extremely stressful.
Edited: My mom just told me that when she was here Tyler was on the phone with someone from their company who was telling him to tell us that the second move was on them.
November 8th: Manager will not contact us back. Reached out every day this week. Hoped to change our stars after speaking to the manager but he has decided not to contact us at all.

They arrived on time, moved everything promptly with no damage or issues, I would use Two Small Mean again.
