Two Small Men with Big Hearts Moving Company

It would be quite easy to write between 5-10 disparaging (ie not positive) comments on this firms performance or lack there-of, but it is simply easier to state... Take your moving money and go elsewhere.

There are many moving companies in the BC/ Washington Lower Mainland that will provide superior moving service and value than TSMwBH.

The 1/ 5 should speak volumes to you.

I seriously recommend you steer clear of this moving company. I booked a small (1 bedroom) move on September 1 2023 with two movers, and paid the mandatory deposit. Approximately one hour before they expected to arrive, they tried to CANCEL the move. The reason? Well the gentleman on the phone called me to let me know that they had a 3 man crew they were sending, rather than the two, with a significantly higher cost. I asked if we could just stay with the 2 man crew that I had originally booked and paid the deposit for, because it was a very small move and I only had a few items. The man on the phone replied “well then we are cancelling your move”. Of course this was enormously stressful, as legally I had to be out of my condo in 3 hours. It’s both disrespectful and degrading for a company to take advantage of their customers in this way.

I did notify their team of my experience on September 2nd via their automated customer follow up survey. I only received an automated reply saying that their team would reach out within two business days. However, I never got a response from them. To be honest, I am not surprised because my impression of this moving company is that they lack compassion and do not value their customers. Choose any other company, you do not need the additional stress and panic when you are moving.

Moved on June 16th, 2023, Heart, Matt, and Eoin worked hard and efficiently. They were exceptional. Big props to these 3 for this move.

I've had very bad experience with movers in the past but I found these guys to be very honest. The communication was good and it made the move easier.

These guys worked way too hard. They also kept to their flat rate estimate with no extra cost despite numerous delays caused by my building.

Bailey and Alexander were very efficient and really great guys! Very pleasant to deal with. They were both so patient waiting in the truck with our stuff while we were waiting for the elevator to free up for our move in. And Jim from the office was great at organizing our move. I would definitely recommend Two Small Men for moving.

Move went pretty good, they took good care of all our stuff and were very efficient!
The truck was way way too big for the things needed to be moved and made it really tricky to park in downtown area, but they went on to be very quick and efficient to find a solution and unload everything.

After failed attempts at using other services, this company was able to help me pick up and move in a couch into my place! I was able to book a date with a quick phone call and they were super patient and helpful with my situation. Would definitely use their services again.

I gave a positive referral review when receiving my email survey but only cause the MOVERS THEMSELVES WERE VERY HARD WORKING AND KIND. However, the company itself really mislead me on the quote when booking. The driving time alone is a double dip since they charge you a minimum 2.25 hours in addition to the actual hourly rate. I was not told this at booking. I even asked asked for clarification when booking. Just to drive without the moving fee was over $500! Plus they charge a fuel charge on the total amount of time. Fuel should be charged on distance not time. I was told about the fuel surcharge but I wasn't expecting the double dip fee. This then made my fuel surcharge immediately go up. I paid over $1,600 for six hours. I hope those guys are compensated well but I doubt it. Their machine then prompted me for a TIP. If I'm paying a premium like this I find it insulting that the company expects me to take care of their staff by paying another 15 to 20%. I would not recommend this company. It makes me sad cause the guys were awesome.

Everything went great! They were on time and efficient. Great service and great staff. We've done a number of moves with them and we plant to continue to use them for all future moves and builds we do!

Organized prebooking of the move; communicated well until the day of moving; movers are friendly and professional, smooth transaction; all our stuff are well- taken care of throughout the process from pick up to drop off.

Crew arrived early, got the job done in excellent time and no issues, What more could one ask?
The above line was 2019, used them again in 2022 and was happy with the job, they arrived on time on a snow day and were efficient, prepared and quick.

Professional. 1 of our 2 movers was in training so the loading wasn't as fast as it could've been, but I had no complaints about the outcomes. They were communicative in their coordination with us days leading up to the move date. They were fairly priced.

Excellent service! Paul and his crew arrived on time, assessed what needed to be done and proceeded to load the trucks quickly and efficiently. They took care not to damage the walls and our belongings, used clean blankets to protect sensitive items. In our new location they used floor runners to protect the floors and again were careful to avoid damage. All through the move, Paul, Jim, Roger and Owen were friendly, polite, and professional. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use them again!

Without a doubt the worst moving experience of my 60+ years on this planet. I don’t understand why they are in the business. It is very suspect. They “lost” numerous large items which were never recovered or paid for. An area rug, a chest freezer, an outdoor fire pit. Multiple broken dishes from poorly wrapped and overstuffed boxes. Unwrapped furniture resulting in scuffed, dirty, scratched and irreparable damages. Terrible customer service and the insurance is a joke. Over $5000 in lost and damaged goods. $250 was the payout. Please don’t walk, RUN AWAY from this horrible organization. I don’t want anyone else to go through the stress that we did. Pick a more reputable company from word of mouth.

We had a VERY last minute move on Thanksgiving weekend this year. The people who booked me were very helpful and asked all the questions required to give us an accurate quote. The three movers who showed up on Saturday (to pack our apartment) and Sunday (to move to the new place) were super quick, helpful and professional. They were also very pleasant and great with our kids and our cat. The bill was very close to what was estimated and there were no hidden charges (I've had really bad experiences with that in the past, so I was grateful).

Overall, even though it was super fast and chaotic, they made it the best it could possibly be.

Can't recommend these guys enough. From beginning to end the company was responsive, phoned me several times to confirm details closer to the date and everyone I encountered was gracious, polite, and friendly. Very reasonably priced and would not hesitate to use again. Our there movers (Sam, Mike, and Matt) were knowledgeable, didn't waste any time, and it was very clear that they knew what they were doing from the way they handled the move. They arrived exactly when they said they would and I was surprised several times by how quick they were and we were actually 2 hours ahead of schedule by the time we got to the destination!

Do not move with them, the broke my desk and didn’t cover it and after I moved I realized one of my boxes was missing the one that had expensive China, the older white gentleman stayed in the truck for way too long and I taught that was weird nothing else but he obviously stole my box. Desk wrecked and China stolen.
