I have rented trucks from here but I go for propane refills a few times a month. They charge by what they pump not like all those flat rate places. I went a week ago and the guy behind the counter said they have no license for propane. I asked if he meant there is nobody working with a license or the U-haul lost their license? He stared at me with a blank look, obviously English was not his first language I understand that but when I asked a question I would like some sort of answer. It would be nice to have them answer the phone without leaving you on hold for 10 minutes before dropping the line too. Very frustrating! If the manager reads this, please send me a message.

When the website says booking guaranteed or we give you 50 dollars, then you get there and wait 40 minutes, thats just sad. Also I hated the whole proccess with the custumer taking pictures before the trip, then you have to download the app after the trip and take pictures again

The primary issue I encountered was that the vehicle had a malfunctioning low-beam headlight system. This became apparent once I started driving in the dark. The low beam lights were completely non-functional, posing a significant safety risk to me and other road users.

This situation led to a loss of time and a considerable amount of inconvenience as I had to adjust my travel plans to avoid nighttime driving. It's frustrating to have faced this issue, especially when renting a vehicle for a specific purpose, which is to ensure a safe and efficient move.

I believe that U-Haul should take customer safety and satisfaction seriously, and this experience has fallen short of those expectations.

God awful moving company. They are completely unreliable, unprofessional and unorganized. Their trucks are NEVER READY when you go to pick them up as if moving wasn't stressful enough already. I would never recommend this company to anyone unless I hated them and wanted them to suffer.

Customer service is not good. If you keep key here then they have not tagged your unit number and waste your 30 min here. Very poor service here and if you talk with manager on phone about this. Then he not give the answer and refuse to anything speak about this. If you use this location be aware for everything and ready to every unthinking matters. Not cooperative location and every time this things when you are visit here. Hope need to be improve but rating star is 2.6 and o give 1 star to location.

Not enough employees for how much traffic they get. We had to wait over 30 minutes to return 2 boxes for 2.50ea, when I commented on the wait Sheila told me lines are normal here and if I don't like it don't come.

Sheila also refused the reservation gauruntee when they changed our timeslot for pickup without notice, so we had to go online to dispute and got our money back.

Awful costumer service and wrongful late charges! The girl working here was so rude! No patience or professionalism. I was in the process of booking a truck and paying, and she was rude to me from the start. Spoke over me and raised her voice at me and had no patience or consideration. She was rushing me through everything and telling me to press buttons on their machine to confirm the rental without letting me read through the agreement. I was reaching for my ID and credit card and she raised her voice at me to click the confirmation button and I told her one moment I need my card, and she told me again to just press the confirmation. This girl needs to slow down when she speaks and learn to have patience and customer service. Very rude.

When I returned my truck, the return website would not let me submit my return because it would not take the location settings of where I return the truck and uhaul charge me a late fee! I had to request a call back 5 times and got denied because they could not call me back and keep calling them back and being put on hold! This is very disappointing. One man there was very nice but uhaul king George needs to get rid of that rude girl OR give her more training! They also need to fix their website. Have calls being returned when requested. I was given a late fee and needed to contact them to dispute it. Took too long.

Worst run Uhaul I've ever witnessed. Constant nagging phone calls with different drop off times, over charging and misleading paper work, and literally yelling at us when we dropped it off made this the absolute worst ending to our already difficult move. If you can avoid this place, you avoid unnecessary stress.

THE STUFF OF NIGHTMARES!
We received confirmation yesterday for our reservation of a 26' moving van for our move to Prince George tomorrow. When we arrived to pick up the truck this morning, they told us they canceled our reservation last night and left a voicemail informing us. The thing is, we never received a phone call or a voicemail. So far, no suitable solution has been provided. I was told a manager would call me between 12-12: 30 to work on a solution, but so far no call.

I should have taken our friends' warning after a similar situation happened to them last year and they had to drive 12 hours to get the van they reserved.

UHaul - why can't honour your confirmed reservations? I can never use your services again if I can't trust that you will provide the equipment you have confirmed.

Edited to add: after phoning back myself (I never did receive that promised call) a manager found us a 23% smaller van that was an hour away, and a trailer we could pick up 3 days later to try to make up the difference in space. Of course, when my husband went to pick up the van that afternoon, the site had no record of the manager's offer and so they wasted another hour sorting that out. When my father-in-law went to pick up the trailer as agreed on, it turned out to be not road worthy. They tried to charge us an extra $100 to take a smaller trailer since they could not give him the promised one! By the time I spent another 45 minutes on the phone with UHaul, my father-in-law had fixed up the trailer that was scheduled for us, only to be told they had cancelled that reservation and we could no longer have it. By the end of another very long and frustrating conversation, they told me they would make it work as per the original agreement, and then went and charged my father-in-law more than we had agreed-upon. Needless to say, I do not recommend.

I have been renting from this uhaul for 11 years. I have never had to give $500 deposit for one day rental. This racist U-Haul called the police on me for raising my voice. They throw me down on the ground under taser point for walking with my wife an two year old son back to my car after the police told me U-Haul didn't want my business. I said ok. Started to Walk out. Before I knew it I was on the ground. I have it on video. Sending it to the news.

Made me come back to the store after leaving location with a rental truck for a mistake on their end with the keys and found out i came back for absolutely no reason. Was charged for those extra miles and gas without any compensation when it was definitely their fault. Incompetent staff.

U-Haul in general, especially on-line. Not particularly this location. They should get 0 stars, not even 1.
My son had to move out of a condo on Apr 1st. He had to move from the 14th floor and only had the use of the elevator for 3 hours, from 9 -12.
He reserved a 26 foot U-Haul truck more than a month before the move. He checked with U-Haul the day prior to the move to ensure all is ok.
On moving day he was scheduled to pick the truck up at 7 am. We went there and there was no truck at the pick-up location.
He called U-Haul and spoke to a guy who could not help. Without saying anything, this guy transferred my son to somebody else. The line went dead and 15 minutes later a women spoke. She also could not say where the truck was and transferred him again without notice. Again a dead line for 20 minutes this time.
A guy picked up. He does not know where the truck is. He cannot see it on GPS. He does not have another truck.
But my son had 3 hours to get out of the condo before the new owner gets possession.
The U-Haul guy said, sorry can’t help, went on with his day and my son was stuck with nowhere to go.
U-Haul did not care one little bit that they dropped him in an impossible situation. They just moved on to the next fool they could swindle.
So, after about an hour on the phone, we had to give up. They did not have the reserved truck, they did not know where it was, and they would not/could not give us one
By the way. They have done the same on 2 previous occasions to both my other son and myself when we had to move. In both times the trucks were not where they were supposed to be and could not be found, leaving us to try and find another rental company at the last minute.
LEARN FROM THIS. NEVER RELY ON U-HAUL TO HAVE A TRUCK FOR WHEN YOU RESERVED IT. IT'S A GAMBLE WITH ALL OF THE ODDS AGAINST YOU.

Staff Sukhleen K working the Sunday shift Dec 19 had us waiting in line for a well over 10 minutes.
We waited on one side for a staff to show up since Sukhleen was on the phone from the 2nd counter beside the one we waited on.
Once she got off the phone she didnt greet us nor acknowledge us knowing there was no staff working the front counters but herself.
We waited a few minutes and another call came in which she answered, then I asked is the other girl still here? Which she replied no I said ok expecting her to tell us to come to her side then, BUT instead she answers yet nother call and after 10 minutes of waiting around my father said we're here to return the truck.
So then she tells us to come to her counter which now im upset because she could've said that the first time she got off the phone.
Very imcompetent and rude and absolutely no customer service whatsoever.

I felt I should give a review since there’s so many negatives. I had no issues with this location other than they only seem to do the online check in now for renting a truck.

Reserved the truck, followed the check in prompts, took plenty of my own photos to document the truck (as you always should with a rental) and was on my way. When I returned it they did a quick check of the truck and emailed me my receipt all at the cost I expected.

One thing I would recommend is maybe returning the truck within office hours to get an immediate check of the vehicle. I feel like that may be the cause of issues on other returns.

Maybe I got lucky (seeing past reviews) but everything went really well with my experience here. I rented a 10 ft truck. Everything was tidy and ready for me once I arrived. I think doing your own due diligence and thoroughly inspecting the vehicle prior to leaving the lot goes a very long way. This includes understanding their policies. I would rent from here again.

Strongly recommend that you choose another company or location. After returning a 15' truck after a move, they tried to charge us $350 for damage we did not cause, even despite having purchased insurance for the drive, which apparently doesn't cover damage. Zero clue what I paid for then.

The damage was on the roof and so was nearly impossible to see on initial inspection. Strongly recommend taking pictures of every surface before your drive - DO NOT expect them to be reasonable like a normal rental car company.

Refused to pay the extra damage charge. Will never be back. Shut this place down. Pathetic excuse of a business.

Rented two furniture dollies with the truck. An integral part of our move plan and we were just told that they didn’t have any. Screwed our day. Had to scramble to rent some from Home Depot, using valuable move time arranging and picking them up. Should have got the truck there too. The experience really sucked. Would never recommend renting anything here unless it’s your absolute last resort.

Reserved a truck weeks ahead of my move. Had emailed confirmation and twice I confirmed my reservation over the phone, even on the day of the pick up. When I went to pick up my vehicle at 134st King George boulevard location they said that they don't have a truck for me. So freaking disappointing and I have to move the next day. All I got in return is a $50. Never renting from uhaul again

I reserved a truck to pick up at a different location as well as a storage unit at this location for the same day. The mobile truck rental took about a half hour cutting into the rental time, and when I arrived to move in to the storage unit I was told it’s first come first serve, even though I had reserved ahead of time and had called to confirm my reservation. They had all of my reservation details and can clearly see reservations, so the fact that they don’t follow up to clarify that it isn’t an actual reservation is horrible customer service. I had to spend an extra hour at their office while they booked a storage unit elsewhere and they had issues with their POS system. The entire situation was incredibly frustrating and took up a lot of time that I had booked the rental truck for.

Moved my reservation that i made a month ago half an hour further away (I do not have a car) and 4 hours later in the day (after the time I need to be out of my apartment) called them and we were able to move the reservation again to an earlier pickup but an hour away.when I got to the new location they had “automatically cancelled” my reservation because of how long it took me to get there.no email, no text, no call

I live across the street and a few times a year i rent a truck, cargo van or even a trailer and have always been happy with their service. But for some unknown reason i need to have a reference to rent a storage locker. A locker that you pre-pay for, it makes no sense! Well maybe more sense than it costs $139 per month for a climate controlled 5x10 locker, But it cost $149 per month for a NON-Climate controlled locker of the same size. Yes it is cheaper for Climate controlled. I don't know what has happened to this place. I went down the street to another storage place and they were more than happy to take my money.

I hate this place. They told me to wait while they would check the size of a storage room, and they never called me back. The service is terrible. Even though I asked them to call me back if something went wrong with the call, they never did, so I had to wait for thirty minutes more. I hate this place. A few months ago, I asked them I wanted to pickup my truck at the King George location, and they assured me it would be that way, when I arrived there, they made me go to another location, and made my life hell. I hate this place. Their staff is not well trained. They cant' even tell you the size of a storage room.

Not convenient! I rented a truck and was left to check it out on my own, using my own phone data. Nobody did a walk through with me to document any existing damages prior to departing.
Make sure you videotape and photograph everything, including gas tank and mileage.
We left with under half a tank of gas from the facility, and the employee tried to charge us for a full tank of gas when we returned the truck. Luckily we took photos and video before we left.

Do not rent from this location. They are absolutely horrible in many areas.

First off we rent a trailer about once a month from the Aldergrove location so we are heavy use renters. Aldergrove had a mix up on a rental we had reserved, so we were sent to this location instead last minute.

We did our trip and were a bit late coming back. I had my wife try while we were driving back to get ahold of the location because we knew it would be after hours return and didn't know what to do. After 2.5 hours of trying to contact them via phone we gave up and said we'd return the next day.

We received a call early stating that if they didn't get the trailer back they were going to charge $250/hr until it was returned. We went in to return it and there was huge line up. My wife waited patiently and when she got to the front the gentlemen said he'd follow her out. As my wife walked out he disappeared and decided to help someone in the middle of the line up instead. Skipping all the people in line and my wife and I.

When he finally came over to us he started talking about charging us this outrageous amount. I asked him to take the trailer off and he wouldn't. I do admit to yelling at him at this point because it was just enough. No threats, etc.

We went to rent a trailer the other day and this worker had placed a flag on our name with corporate stating we were violent and no rentals. Our local place was shocked since we have rented probably over 20 times from them and had no issues. They helped my wife contact corporate to have this removed. Corporate was shocked as well seeing how many rentals we do on a regular basis and no history of any issues. They couldn't believe that the phones weren't answered for 2.5 hours and that trying to charge $250/hr for late fees is not their policy at all. Corporate kindly removed the hold on our names and apologized. They said we wouldn't be able to rent from this location again, which we promptly stated we never would anyways.

Thanks to corporate for their excellent customer service for a long term and frequent customer. Shame on this location for braking policies and trying to screw people over for their mistakes.

What a horrible experience. The lady at the front desk has an attitude the entire time you are dealing with her, the parking lot becomes an all out war as soon as a couple vehicles have to navigate in there. We arrived to drop off the motorcycle trailer we rented and asked if anyone was going to come out and unhook the trailer so they could put it away and told us to do it ourselves and put it aside and then got angry over where we placed it even though nobody said where they wanted it.

This Uhaul location is an absolute joke stay away from here.

Customer was great as the workers were really polite and helpful HOWEVER the inside of our van was so dirty! There was someone’s used facemask on the floor, coffee splatters, it was still wet inside, spilt soda on the floor, it smelled, and had lots of dirt everywhere inside. They did not clean the van at all.

Unfortunately this location has untrained staff and gives out false quotes.when you get there your vehicle is unavailable and thus here comes the upcharges.moreover when asked if any other locations have available equipment, we were told NO.but online, we snagged up all we needed in 25 minutes and are on our way.

Please step up and have the staff here on the same level as other Uhauls. I've been using Uhaul for years and never had a bad experience! Until today.

Honesty- seamless and effortless. Called ahead to reserve. Nice staff especially the older fellow checking the trucks. Came in mid day on a Saturday- no line. Got a 10 footer. Moved from South Burnaby to Fleetwood Surrey. Used $14 in gas and paid $71 for truck service total. Take pics of the whole truck just in case and bring a friend. That’s it folks. Done in 4 hours. Thank you come again- Lol.

Worst place I been too not recommended to anyone. I paid for insurance and got a flat tire I had to pay $175 extra because it's not covered under insurance. Good luck if something happens and you have to deal with them. Manger's answer is " sorry can't do anything go head sue us good luck "

The people who work here don't like working after 6: 00 pm even though the hours say until 7: 00 pm. This is my third time that I come at 6: 00 and they tell me to come back the next day because They are no longer attending, in this third attempt they told me that they do not have propane filling after 6: 00 pm but I do not see or rather they do not have any advertisement that indicates that!

Bought a brand new tank today and went there for refill the propane for the first time.a guy came a help me but after few tries he told me that the valve on the tank is broken so the propane couldn’t fill in. He told me to exchange another tank and come back. I didn’t believe what he said so I went to other place to fill my new tank. And, of course. My tank get filled without any problem. The guy in U-Haul who helped me really didn’t know what he is doing. Really disappointed for the first time experience and probably will not coming back for the service.

U-Haul having a monopoly on the whole idea of moving forces you to deal with their garbage company and they really lean into that.
We rented a truck for 24 hours. They tell us we have to return it in 12 (but not really, our rental time started at 7, but it took them over an hour to give us the actual truck).
We're told there are no dollies to rent even though we received a confirmation email the night before saying our whole rental "package" is ready. We have to purchase a dolly instead. Get back to start loading the truck and the dolly is in the back and they do not accept returns of the purchased dolly.
It absolutely blows my mind how much this place sucks, like there's effort put into being this bad at running a business.

I just got very bad experience of rental Van in U haul. The staff did the process irregularities! I went to rent the Van at 6: 30pm. They let myself to find the Van at the exit where without the lights! I check the around of the Van with my iPhone’s light! The staff did not tell me need to check the roof of the Van. Which I was the first time rent the Van there. I only drive the Van for one hours. After I return the Van by myself. The over charge me 350 dollars for unknown roof panel scrape. While I find them, they can’t provide me any evidence that I did this damage. It was extremely disgusting! I dispute of this payment! I suspect this damage was already there before I rent the Van. And they parked the Van in the dark on purpose! It was a trap! I called the customer service but on one there! I need a people account for this problem!

Worse service ever.
First made a mistake on my name on tne invoice.
Then instead of making my reservation for 14 hrs, 9: 30 am to 11: 30 pm. He made it for 1: 30 minutes after being on the line tor 30 minutes.
How would i moved out and in in 1: 30minutes?
The clerk put that i will return the truck at 11: 30 am instead of 11: 30 pm
Charged my credit card $96 dollars and after figuring out how to return it online it charged my cc another $127 dollars.

My whole experience with Uhaul was horrible. The location was rebooked three different times by the company, with the final one taking over an hour of talking to different customer support people to get. They tried to make me go quite far from my house which is not originally what I had booked with U-Haul. I spent over an hour talking to three different staff on one occasion, the first person was not accommodating and said I had no options but the one he offered me or even further. The second person said she would be unable to help but transferred me to someone who might. The third person finally gave me a solution and a location that was accessible to me. On the day of pickup the online pickup did not work multiple times so I had to wait in line over an hour. Because this we got behind on the moving process and had to return the truck late, I called once to inform them of this and they were so helpful saying just call again if I needed it longer, when I called back the second time the person was rude and said they were charging me an additional $50. I only called back a second time because the first person said calling and extending would allow me to not have to pay the additional fee. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a business. I was supposed to hear from customer service and when they did contact me all they said was sorry for the inconvenience. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend anyone using Uhaul.

We rented a from this location last weekend and it was the worst customer service we have ever received. The employee, Simar; was the rudest person in the customer service industry I have ever encountered. The gentleman who who brought the van around was also very rude. While take pictures of the van with the app he told us not to and that we were in his way. I would never rent there again.

Booked a hitch install online, and just prior to the install date the store called and said that they didn't have the hitch and would need to reschedule when it arrives by calling back. There was no call back. We called multiple times, waited forever on hold and then were told someone would call us back to schedule a time. We gave up and requested a refund online.

Gotta love it when they take random parts off your car (Tow hooks) and throw them in the garbage, when all that is being done is a trailer hitch. I had to get the parts back and mount them myself which would have taken less than 5 minutes for them to do.

Worst experience ever. I had booked a truck at 8: 15 a.m. In this center. When I turn up at 8: 15, there is no one to help. Even though I see 3 employees moving in and out, I could not get my truck. When asked for help, I was told, sut in your car and come back in 30 mins. Apparently these guys do not open their store till 9: 00. The lady who booked the truck for me should have known. I have hired uhaul multiple times before in the US and had a wonderful experience. I am going to think twice before coming to this center.

The manager ANDRE, shouldn't even be working there he is the worst to deal with, tried to make a million excuses as to why i couldn't access my brothers storage unit, I PAID the bill on the 25th and was told i had until the 28th before they would put their red lock back on it.this Andre douche told me that my brother couldn't call in to put me on the "Access" list and that i was just the secondary contact, he didn't tell me that we could do this online, I drove from Langley to This Uhaul 3 times in 2 days to access my lap top that was accidentally packed into the unit. He made up any excuse in the books as to why i couldn't get into the unit even tho his staff the day before said that I could.he said that is why his "Staff" don't work more hours because they don't know what they are doing, what a POS thing to say about the people who work for you. We went above his head and got things changed, i bought a new lock to relock the unit after cutting the lock and paid the fee. ANDRE, YOU CANNOT HOLD PEOPLES THINGS LEGALLY UNTIL THEY ARE 90 DAYS PASSED DUE.you suck and I hope you get fired. Your staff are much more professional, helpful, kind and just all better then you. *middle fingers*

The manager of this place is the worst person I have ever dealt with, he has double standards for everything. He let my ex gf gain access to my storage unit when she was never on the file but when I ask for my family friend to have access so she can grab a couple things out of the locker and she is a person on my file as well has my access code they refuse her access unless I come down personally (will not let me give permission over phone) when she should already be a person of access on file but they sayiny she's not when I added her when I opened it.knowing full well im out of town and she is even made the payment for me. Accepted her money no problem

Avoid this U-Haul at all cost until new management takes over this guy makes me sick and does not treat his clients well soon as he has your money. He will say w.e he has to to lock you in and then screw you over in the end. This man is a con - Artest

I don't give bad reviews often but this needs to get out their not to trust this place or waste your money save yourself the headache and take your business else where.

Office is cramped and dirty, but the staff seem to know what they're talking about. Only rented trucks from here a couple of times but the staff always completed the walkthroughs/inspections in good time.
Wanted to rent a specific size of truck once, but they didn't have any free, so they let me rent a larger size for the price of the smaller one.
