The tech i had was great, i had a gel pedicure and she did a fantastic job, good massage! However, there were a few red flags to me overall from the space itself. I only know to look for these as i used to be in the industry myself.
The sterilization corner only had autoclaves, i didnt see any space for cs20 or sterilizing solution which is necessary for metal tools to be completely sterilized. Autoclaves are more so meant to dry tools with antibacterial uv light so things dont grow as moisture evaporates off the tool from cs20/water, they arent meant to be the only tool used for disinfecting. I could be wrong, maybe they have a space in the back away from clients where the metal tools are all cleaned as cs20 can be a bit corrosive to human skin, but it had to be pointed out.
Their techs are expected to reuse files and buffers which are absorbent, harbor bacteria and can never be 100% sterilized even if scrubbed washed and autoclaved. They should always be changed between every client. They had no problems giving me a new buffer and file after i asked, however this should be standard between every new client. There was a lot of dust around/under the pedi chairs and lobby which isn't the biggest issue but i find it concerning around pedicure chairs as they should be mopped around thoroughly at the end of the every night as we all know that dust is coming off of people's feet etc. The last issue is more of an industry opinion rather than regulation, but pedicure chair jets have also been known to harbor a good amount of bacteria which is why most places use those awkward plastic pedi bowl bags, this salon did not have those and I would recommend anywhere you get your feet done especially if youre skin picks up fungi easily to ask them to leave the jets off.
All of the hygiene issues aside, the owner was very hands on answering phones making sure the techs had what they needed and were on time.techs seemed thorough in their work, hard working, diligent towards and caring to their clientele. This was by no means the filthiest place, but i can't say I'm comfortable going back despite the techs great work and hospitality.

I’ve been going to Ultra Nails exclusively for 10 years and have never had a complaint about the quality of my manicure or the treatment I’ve received. Eric and his staff are amazing, going above and beyond to make sure their clients get exactly what they want. Highly recommend

I got a pedicure here and I was treated with respect and had the most heavenly massage. Definitely a 10/10

Love my shellac pedi-mani. Cindy took time to ensure my nails were done to perfection, even when the salon was very.busy. Everyone was friendly. Will definitely go back.

I would not recommend or go back to this place. I got a shellac manicure done for a wedding. After a week the nail polish started coming off.
I went back 2 weeks later after I got back from the wedding to talk to them. I was very disappointed. After paying $85, they did not take any responsibility. The owner flatly told me there is nothing they can do.
I was able to take the rest of the nail polish with a regular remover.
They are rip off.

I went in for a pedicure. I didn't really enjoy the experience. The person doing my pedicure was really rushed, the massage chair I was in didn't work very well. The ambiance was really dull.

I always feel comfortable when I'm there. I love my French manicure. Eric the owner spent 2hrs.with me as he took off the old tips and did an amazing job on my French manicure. The price is the best in port coquitlam. I'd highly recommend this salon. I've had pedicures done as well

It was my first time there as I'm new in the area and decided to try a nail place closer to home.i was not impressed with the service.the staff were nice and were able to get me in the same day, however the primer they used on my nails made my nails burn like crazy! They were on fire.the nail tech said some people have an allergic reaction to the primer.its just strange how any other nail salon i've been to the last 15 years of me getting my nails done has never gave me this issue with the primer hurting my fingers that bad.she sprayed some alcohol on them and it slowly was getting better but not completely and my nails did hurt the rest of the day. Another thing is that the shape of the nails was not great.i am very picky with how i like my nails to look and i was not pleased.i had to go home and reshape them myself but its hard because i don't want to scratch off the color gel. Not to mention they're not cheap either. If you have like 2cm tips its considered long nails to them and they charge you like $75 for a fill. Needless to say, I won't be bringing my business back here. I'd rather drive all the way to surrey from port moody to get my nails done properly.
