The best tuning shop in the resort! It is locally owned and the guys are very knowledgeable. Here you get excellent workmanship and great customer service.
I left my board after 3 years using it and never had a service before. Board had a lot of scratches but after one night i picked it back as new and had a lot of fun at the slopes. Good environment and service, Thank you.
These guys are great. Knowledgeable, professional craftsmen. Today, not only did we get our skis waxed and tuned and serviced, but also learned a little more about this great hobby we are so excited about. How skis developed over the past couple of decades and the influence of snowboarding on the skiing industry. Been on a holiday in Whistler for 2 months (our "season" at the back end of our working lives) and we have used them 3 times. Great service every time. They are busy, because they are good, so cannot guarantee next day if you turn up later in the day. We appreciated being treated like locals. Thank you.
Came here for a hot wax near the end of season and was advised a essential service would be better. Picked up the board next day and I could tell the job done was a quick one. Board wax was pretty uneven, light and overall not great. Wax was gone after half a day. Was disappointed given I went on recommendation.
I just order for wax and edges, but the surface was full of scratches and returned. However, they can't help being hurt on the table and there is no apology. It was a new board that I just bought, but it's very sad. I shouldn't have ordered if it hurt so much.
Best tuning shop in whistler. I wouldn’t take my boards anywhere else. All the staff are super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Your skis and boards will thank you for taking them to underground
My husband and I got our boards tuned and waxed. He had a huge gash in his and mine just needed a wax. We are so pleased with the kind and informative overnight service, for how helpful and friendly all the staff are and how great our boards are feeling today. We will definitely be coming back!
So put off by the guy who a) was more concerned about sanitizing and policing covid protocols than providing customer service and b) seemed more interested in upselling than actually tuning up our skis and snowboards.we were so put off that decided to take our gear elsewhere, which is saying something as had previously had a great tune up job and an amazing experience here.
Had an expensive tune on some rock skis and it seemed fine - hard to tell with rock skis. I only wanted wax but they pushed a 65.00 tune. As luck would have it I took a nick out of the base my first day using the.
I took them in looking for a plug. Something ski techs have been using successfully for decades and was told that was not possible. I would need another 65.00 tune. Even the undamaged ski would need a full machining! I explained they were rock skis that would be used a couple more times and possibly tossed. At that point the person gave me a philosophical lecture about there being no such thing as rock skis. Sort of Yoda meets religious zealot. (There is no try.)
I called a few other places and they all do different types of 15.00 plugs and didn't insist on a 65.00 full tune for rock skis. So I went to Coastal Culture like I should have originally. Always take my bikes there. If you have a 65.00 minimum fee just say so.
Great group of guys very passionate about the sport.had a few core shots in my board and yohan made it look brand new. 10 out 10, any problems with your equipment, these guys know what to do.
I strongly recommend this sports equipment rental store. During the winter they have a great selection of snowboard and ski equipment. In the summer they offer several bicycle options to enjoy the hot days in Whistler. The Staff are helpful and always attentive to make your experience perfect!
Yohann is the coolest guy in town! Very knowledgeable, very friendly and the best person to ask for advice. HIGHLY RECOMMEND bringing your board for tuning in here or buying new gear. Easy 5 stars!
I recommend this shop to everyone! Great service and best tune in town! Yohann and his employees knows perfectly what they are doing and they are doing it with passion!
Definitely the place to have your skis serviced in Whistler! Simon and the team are super friendly and reliable, delivering impeccable and timely work. True MVPs of ski tuning ;)
As a new (ish) snowboarder i don't know too much about snowboards, but a mate told me my board was long overdue a wax. So i went to see the guys at underground tuning, they were so helpful and talked me through what my board needed and gave me a few different options based on my budget. I ended up going for the full tune and was not disappointed! I feel like a pro now not having to un-clip on cat tracks! Would highly recommend:)
Finding a good Tuning shop in Whistler is like finding a needle in a hay stack.well these guys are the needle! Took my board here just wanting a wax ending up getting a full tune for a great price. All dents Ptexed, edges polished and the wax. Wont be going anywhere else
Great shop. The staff are well versed in gear and they have a great selection of snowboard rentals (dupraz, yes, Jones.). Good wax job and at an awesome rate.
Beware of having your equipment tuned up here. My husband and I both dropped off our skis/snowboard to have a wax and edge done last night and the two gentleman were helpful and friendly. They took a look at the equipment and recommended the services which we agreed to have done. Today however, I went to pick them up and pay for the services. As I was putting them into the car I noticed the snowboard looked damaged and the edges were still rusty on one end. I went back into the store to ask if they had missed an edge or why they ground down the graphics. This is where the service plummeted. I was told that the rust on the end didnt matter. When I asked why I would have an edging done if they weren't going to remove the rust, the gentleman working said "it doesnt matter if there is rust there". That is confusing to me and I pressed the matter and he then pulled a file out of the drawer and filed it for a few seconds and then told me again that it doesnt matter and handed it back to me. Then when I asked about the damage to the graphics on the side by the edging, he told me that the guy must have been new and just went too hard with the grinder. He agreed that this shouldnt have happened and that he would give feedback to the inexperienced trainee who tuned our equipment. And then told me there is nothing he can do for me. The skis were not done as poorly, but there are clumps of wax along the edges that we are peeling off so they don't interfere with the blades. Needless to say, I will not be back and do not recommend going here unless you know you're getting someone experienced. I wouldnt risk it though if you value your equipment. We came here because of the good reviews and were very disappointed by the service.
I’ve had my skis tuned at Underground Tuning several times now: wax, pytex jobs, edges, name it! Those guys know what they are doing and work fast. If you care about your skis, Underground Tuning is the place to go!
