We really enjoyed the band Crush last night. We decided to have dinner before the band started. Pub food is typically good but the queens salad was AMAZING.
Went here with some friends for a burger and a couple drinks. The burger was large and everything was delicious. Their fries were very good as well. Our server Jen was great, checked up on us a number of times and kept our drinks filled up. Food and drinks arrived quickly. Overall it was a great experience and we will be coming back soon!
Came here on a relatively tame night and seated ourselves as per their sign. Waited 20 minutes and didn’t even see our server once.
All we really wanted was water for the table. I asked the people next to us if there is a server and she said “yeah she’s somewhere here”
Saw a sign that said self-serve and thought I would walk up to the bar for a pitcher of water so we could hydrate. The bartender looks at me as I walk up and she rudely says “your server will come to you. ”
Then a second server comes out of nowhere and says “yeah I’ll come to you go back to your table. ” I clarify all I would like is a pitcher of water and we can continue waiting to place our actual order. Idk if it was racism but the way they treated me & my brother was a shame.
I’m not a demanding person, it’s just a shame to see human decency thrown out the window. Like just be a human and communicate without being rude or judgemental. I walked out and went somewhere else nearby and experienced excellent service. This place is a stain on New West.
This is a great pub! The serving staff and the doorman, Marcus, are all wonderful! They have good live music and the food is delicious! Highly Recommended!
Really enjoyed our visit here, had a great feel to it and the food and atmosphere were awesome, plus the Yorkshire pudding was on special and you can't beat that, check the photo
Great music, awesome customer service with beautiful ladies serving! I never ate but I will next time I come back cause it smells delicious Thank you kindly!
Great natured staff, didn't know they were closing at 10, arrived at 915. Offered food unprompted (kitchen closed at 930) which you know is really nice of them if you ever worked service.
Regulars seem to love their staff, I will be back to try more food and their karaoke night. Certainly worth a try if looking for a pub.
We went there for a late lunch.early dinner (3: 00pm) and saw they had happy hour starting so ordered onion rings chilli chicken and coconut prawns to start and we ordered a burger… the beef dip and the Yorkshire dinner… everything was very good and our server was on the ball making sure we had everything we needed.thanks guys we will be back
We ordered the Jack's Signature stuffed Yorkie as a takeout.
The Yorkshire was burnt, the meat was over cooked, the yukon mashed potatoes seemed like they were out of a tube, and the house made gravy was less than desirable. I would not recommend it.
The food is borderline OK for pub fare. For a pub, they also do not offer many drink specials or have any decent happy hour specials. I am a bit disappointed in this pub, then again, maybe I am not their target customer. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back.
For an excellent location, I was really hoping for better. My partner and I visited 3 times in the was few weeks. The first time we waited at the door for 5 -10 minutes before being greeted and the service was terrible becuase she didn't come by very often and treated us like an afterthought (it was a slow wednesday night) but the food and drinks were good so we deided to try it again in the future. We went back the next Thursday and this time the service was excellent. She was very attentitive, stayed on top of what we needed and above all was very kind, We were very happy, The third time, and probably the last time, was on a Saturday night. I was hesitant to go but I finished work early and wanted to go out for dinner. This time the service was horrendous. The server didn't give us any time of day and pretty much acted as if we weren't there. When the food arrived, she forgot to ring in a food item and never apologized for it when it came late. And when she asked my partner if he wanted another drink, he ordered it before our food arrived and then recived it afer he had finished his meal. And then after all that I had my card on the table, coat on and mask on wanting to leave and had to wait 10 minutes for our server to notice and then bring the wrong bill. But the worst part of everything was that the tables sitting next to us (2 tables of the same party) weren't following covid-19 protocols. Not just that but were not being reminded by staff to follow basic protcols such as stay seated at your table and wear your mask while moving about the restaurant. And then our server actually sat down at the table with them to chat and then was giving hugs to unmasked customers. We will not be retuning. Such a shame.
Worst service I've experienced. This isn't isolated to one time of day. This is simply a house of regulars, and if you're not one good luck! Great selection of beers, food smells great, if you get it hot.
Smoke illicit drugs ask a staff member where to buy
The first time I went there the service was pretty good, the second was the last time I’ll go there. 3 staff members looked at me standing at the front for 10-15 minutes, there were 3 tables, it wasn’t busy and they didn’t seem interested to get me into their empty establishment. Complete ignorance, horrible service
I was there for half an hour had a quick coffee with my friend but found the atmosphere to be absolutely charming the people friendly and would definitely go back for drinks
Great place to watch the Stanley Cup Play ok ff games. Friday was Prime Rib Dinner too! Awesome food. Only bad thing is that they do NOT offer straws for your drinks. I will bring my own. Love m
Kimeroke karaoke on Sundays and Mondays is always a great time for singers and drinking spectators! The drinks and service was great as well. Well priced booze. Plus there is food!
I went there tonight, mostly for karaoke, but had to eat. It was my friends birthday and karaoke. The staff could not have been more helpful! We had a great time!
They do not accept debit cards! It's a cash only or credit card, they will be asking for pay checks next time, they are going back in time not forward, as far as financial transactions are concerned. You have to wonder when a business such as this pub (group) asks for cash, yet does not enforce the same principle at there other pubs around the lower mainland! No one walks around with wads of cash these days Oh and by the way people spend more, tip more with debit than cash! Only biker pubs do that cash thing Ask any waitress or bar tender? Don't go unless you have a pocket of cash or visa/amex/mcard.
They were packed, the customers were obnoxious and kept bugging me for weed and cigs. Our server for the table forgot waters but she was nice. It sucked that they double booked the bar with a wrestling match and the band while a fire marshal was already closing the bar early. Over all the food/drinks were decent but the customers were not.
Went there in June early in the day (filling time between appointments) and had such a great time, I went back again after. Katie (Katy?) Was amazing and kept me entertained. When you smell those chicken wings in smoky BBQ sauce, you'll question wonder what you thought BBQ sauce was!
Don't go on sunday's cannot watch a football game to the end we were there ten minutes watching football and channel switched 6 times near end of 4th and the language was every second word the f bomb but food was awesome
The best beef dip ever! Made with melt in your mouth prime rib and served by awesome staff. Great bands on Friday and saturday nights along with a low cost prime rib dinner. Great place to have a date night or go alone during the day and banter with the servers Who are great at juggling customers and still maintain a conversation.
Best wings in town, service isn't amazingggggg like nobody will greet you at the door and if it seems full you'll probably be standing there until a table clears and you'll have to claim it yourself but I really don't care about that. I had fun here, once we were seated they were pretty attentive. I kept boasting about the wings!
Celebrated a Halloween party at Union Jack's. The servers are great here, so friendly and attentive, especially for a packed pub! They had a live band which were really good playing a good assortment of music. It's a place that you can feel relaxed, have a bite to eat (they have a good selection of food), a drink and dance.
Was pretty good service from the professional waitress's, unless a waitress don't like you becuz she like a customer ya get glared at. Was just out to have a good time and was long over do but might check it out again but m home bound lol this time a year so be awhile.
The prices are reasonable and the food is first rate bar fodder. The pub looks a little rough from the outside as you might have to step through a small group of loitering tobacco sucking groupies, but once inside this establishment, it is quite nice. I went mid week and really only shared the attention of the waitress with half a dozen other patrons.
I have been there before where the service was good, but not the case this time. There was a band playing, and they were good. The other issue was, they just kept letting people inside and there wasn't enough seats, and then you could hardly walk around as it was so full.not fun.
For a local pub, it's great! Food is good and the bands are hit and miss - it depends on you're liking. Service is efficient and friendly. Weekend nights are fun and seen a lot of regular folks that like to have a good fun time. The dance floor could be bigger (and safer) if they moved the front tables.
The Union Jack Pub is a really cool eatery in downtown Burnaby. I went & had an amazing meal, great service & just so happened to be there open Mike night. Heard a 90 year old crooner sing ""He's got the whole world in His hands". It was amazing - made me feel like I was part of the Cheers set. I highly recommend it - I'll be back.
Good burger, good appetizer specials, but don't go on a live music night unless you're already half deaf (like the Boomer crowd this place mostly attracts). They also charge cover on live music nights ($10!) so keep walking if you're just looking for a pub grub dinner on a Friday night and not the show to go with it.
The ONLY place in New westminster to have a nice drink and if so inclined, to dance away to some good music, waitresses are very friendly and courteous.a good place for some great times.
Decent neighborhood pub. Plays UFC fights, which is great. We ordered couple of orders of wings and they came out quick and very well done so no complaints there. There is only street parking available so be aware. Overall a pleasant experience and a nice place to hang out.
