United Floors (Nanaimo)

Three or so years ago I had to replace wood floors because of water damage. I met Marty in the Nanaimo location, he friendly, professional and knowledgeable.recently we had water damage and had to replace the floors. I misplaced some information that I needed. I phoned Marty. He spent a couple of days hunting it down.
I just would like to say thanks.

We have worked with United Floors for multiple projects over the years. Earlier this year we worked with Tania on a kitchen/living area reno. Tania was fantastic with our customers taking the time to understand their needs, and help them pick the right hardwood for their home. Communication throughout the process was excellent, and everyone is very happy with the finished project. Looking forward to working more with Tania and United in the future!

We had two bedroom carpets replaced. They look great. The installers did a wonderful job! Very efficient with the installation and cleanup. We are very pleased with United Floors And we would highly recommend them.

We had a leak behind our fridge that necessitated removing and redoing the wood flooring in our kitchen/living/dining area. Belfor was called to deal with the water damage and insurance claim. They recommended United Floors Nanaimo to replace the wood flooring.
We met with Marty Walton and Monica Ossandon at United to choose the replacement wood flooring. The two of them were so easy to deal with and most helpful in suggesting the various options we had for flooring replacement. In deciding on a replacement, the number of options can be overwhelming but Monica and Marty went over the benefits of the various products to help steer us to the best possible replacement flooring for our job. We could not have decided upon the wood product we ultimately chose without their knowledge and guidance.
We also decided that since our home during the reno restoration was going to be a construction zone, it was an opportunity to change the entrance way, laundry room and bathroom tile that we never really liked, at the same time. Again, choosing a tile can be overwhelming but Monica's talent and keen eye for interior design helped us chose a tile that compliments the wood flooring and gave us the look we wanted.
The installers that United Floors used were superb craftsmen. We can't say enough good things about Tim the wood installer and Mrwan from Sama Tile. Both of them paid great attention to detail and the work they did was simply outstanding.
Overall, we could not be happier with United Floors. Our new wood and tile flooring look better than we ever imagined. If we could give all those involved 6 stars we certainly would.

I have mixed feelings on how the floor installation went in our rental suite. Everything up to the installation was smooth and easy, and the floors do look very nice.
However, it left a bad taste in my mouth when I moved back in after the floors were done, and saw that some of our things had been used. I didn’t like that our vacuum was used. I was expecting them to have their own equipment to clean things up. The place was also left a bit dirty. All surfaces were dusty, and there was dust and debris behind doors, and on carpet. I wasn’t expecting to have to do a full vacuum/mop after install.
I also found it strange that the installer went into our storage closet to grab and use a roll of paper towel. Again, I thought they would have their own equipment.
There was some clay-like substance left on doorframes and on a wall in our bathroom. The papers inside the boxes the flooring came in looked like they were just thrown in our bedroom. I guess I just expected a higher level of cleanliness.

The most frustrating part was that we were not contacted when the installation was complete. It meant that we stayed in our temporary home longer than needed when we could have got the ball rolling on moving back in much sooner.

I’m not familiar at all with what is to be expected when floors are being installed, so perhaps this is the norm. Either way, I expected more care to be taken when cleaning up, and for the installers to have all the equipment needed to do the job without having to use ours.

Amazing, knowledgeable and professional. We needed a carpet pad for carpet on carpet (to avoid bunching). One phone call the receptionist knew what we wanted. One short visit (an hour later) and we left with an wonderful product, that has solved our issue. Thank you for the knowledge and service……. We highly recommend you.

United Floors was great to deal with from start to finish. We would recommend them to anyone. Tim Hartman does not miss a beat when it comes to details and the little things. He was very helpful in helping us select flooring for our newly purchased house. He even also allowed us to use their dumpster as we had pulled the old carpets to save some money. Who does that? On the day of the job Tim showed up with the installers to make double sure everything was done to plan. The installer team was courteous and friendly and very organized. Overall these guys are first class and understand the meaning of customer service. Thanks again guys!
