Urban Barn Nanaimo

The look is fine but when products is coming from China. It is very overpriced. The color it show on the floor is different from what I got (which I am fine with the color but it is still shouldn’t be) the holes were not align with where the screws supposed to go. For whatever price we pay this shouldn’t happen. This is a bad quality control.

Loved what we bought! However, the store associate (manager) was a little "cool" towards us, not very welcoming or even a smile throughout the entire time dealing with us and our purchases. Kind of like a "take it or leave it" attitude.

I ordered when 50% off Christmas ornaments. The next day when I arrived, they were 75% off. The staff and I had fun with that, and I bought more. All the girls whenI was there were a lot of fun, cheerful and helpful. Prior to this, I took ornaments off the tree to purchase as It didn’t have a container at the side to take. I was told after not to take from the tree…too late. But, I understood, someone likely painstakingly placed them on the tree. Hind site as it is, I should have asked, and they should have had the purchase ones on the area of the tree. Lol, in a perfect world. Still I enjoy my visits. Such talent!

We throughly enjoyed our first shopping experience at UB.
All the sales associates were fun and helpful. We will definitely be going back next time we are in town.

I couldn't agree more with the last review about the terrible customer service at the Nanaimo location. Our experience was similar where the first point of contact from the salesperson was to let us know we couldn't buy items off the floor - not a hello, not how can I help you as we're standing there with items to purchase. This is the second time the customer service at this location was sorely lacking. As a lifelong business owner myself, I'm bothered that a company can't provide even the most minimal level of in-person service. Perhaps provide customer service training? At the very least, provide an understanding of how to greet customers who are clearly looking to make a purchase. To add, the salesperson in question was rude throughout the entire payment process including setting up delivery. We've bought a lot of product from Urban Barn in the last year and that's the last purchase we'll ever make there. Tired of being treated poorly. Go shop somewhere else and/or shop at their Granville store in Vancouver where the service and engagement are excellent.

Service is wonderful. Friendlly and so helpful. I live in Victoria but the store here has terrible service so I always go to Nanaimo store when in the area!

My wife and I went here 3-4 times within a week while shopping for a new couch, we were prepared to buy a couch (Encore Leather Power Reclining Sofa) but nobody would assist us. We tried going on different days to see if they were just busy but we were never helped: (

We ended up buying the same style couch at costco.ca (Adige Top Grain Leather Reclining Power Sofa)

Its a shame because we found the couches here extremely comfortable

Also as an added bonus, they increased the price $200 more on our fourth visit (price increased within a week?) it went from $2799 to $2999

I emailed customer service why that was and they replied they were doing their annual “price upgrade”

Definitely come visit this place if you’re looking for new furniture or to get some ideas but don't expect to be helped especially if you're a young colored couple (maybe the sales people assumed we couldn't afford their furniture? Who knows i don't know)

Great styles. Nice staff. I would recommend buying items off the shelf and not ordering in furniture as this is where the experience went sideways.

Excellent customer service. Greeted with a warm hello, told about the sales and allowed to look around without being bothered.
Staff engaged in pleasant conversation with me at the til. You just feel welcome here.
Still my favourite store

Super friendly staff. We were just browsing and getting ideas for a new home that is not yet built. We were treated like royalty even though it was known we were not yet interested in making a purchase. So great to see such customer care! We will be seriously looking to purchase when the time comes! Especially that lovely, large navy sectional!

I like ur store for buying gifts because u have the 1-of-a-kind stuff I look for, for those hard to buy for people

Great service. They were busy serving other clients, but, got to me as quickly as they could. Really friendly staff and they didn't rush me to make a decision. It is my first time in this store and definitely going back. I saw some other unique items that I would love, so, I'm definitely going back this week to pick them up. Thanks for the great service.
