Scrolling through some of the reviews on here prompted me to also share some of my poor experiences with Urban Body.

I’ve gone to this clinic over the past couple of years for laser, under what I believe was a 12 session package that I purchased (that also had a guarantee after those treatments)

The laser treatments I’ve had so far were effective. However, the experiences I had with the rotating set of technicians were traumatizing. Many of the technicians didn’t seem to know what they were doing, and in alignment with other reviews either awkward or nervous. I did very much trust one technician who left the clinic after a few sessions.

What concerns me about responses to reviews is that this clinic is quick to dive into confidential medical files in order to support their responses. I will preface this next set of experiences with the fact that I do not consent to my files being published on public forum.

Similar to another review, I also had what was almost a permanent skin reaction after getting a treatment with someone who seemed less experienced. For months after, a rash would appear any time I worked out or did anything outside. I was told after quite some time of pausing treatments that it was likely due to the laser getting too hot in that area. I paused treatments, and when I attempted to rebook, I was told to be mindful of an expiry date for the package, something that they do not actively tell you about during each session (sessions are booked between 7-11 weeks apart and if you have to reschedule or pause you can very easily get outside of this “expiration window” for the treatment package) I honestly don’t even recall agreeing to an expiration on a package that I paid in full for.

The following session I had another treatment with someone that said they were new, seemed incredibly nervous and unfortunately the treatment resulted in her misfiring the laser (by accidentally stepping on the pedal when she wasn’t even executing the treatment) and it hit my thigh tattoo that was close to my knee. It was no where near the treatment area. She was panicked, it hurt immensely - and if you don’t know about laser treatments, if they hit a tattoo it will pull out the pigment immediately. The team apologized profusely, and offered tattoo touch ups, but I had to deal with a blistering sore during a trip to Mexico a few weeks later. Luckily, it hit the tip of my tattoo, and it didn’t cause immense damage - but to be honest I don’t feel comfortable going back to the clinic to get any more sessions which are likely expired by now regardless.

Long story short:
This is likely not a good clinic to trust for laser especially in intimate areas. You likely will go through a rotating selection of technicians ranging in experience. Treatment packages expire, so what you pay for is not redeemable past a certain point regardless of life circumstances.

Greeted warmly and with kindness helped to decrease my anxiety. Perfect, relevant information convinced me I made the right choice to come here for treatment. The staff highly professional yet very intuitive made my session very pleasant.

My sister and I decided to celebrate our 60th birthday with a hydra facial at Urban body Laser. It was an amazing experience and they all made us feel so special. When we arrived we were greeted with fresh cut flowers each. Our technician was very thorough, gentle and knowledgable. Our skin felt amazing with no down time. We were out having dinner a few hours later. We left with fresh faces, thank you gifts and a warm, feel good memory we will cherish forever. Thank you ladies.

I have been going to Urban Body for the past few month now & I absolutely love this place & their amazing stuff. I have been to a few clinics since I moved here but this is by far my favourite. The place is so beautiful, clean & so relaxing. The stuff is very professional, warm & knowledgeable. My skin is glowing & I love their products. I don’t waste my money trying out all the new skin care lines that come out every month anymore. When it comes to laser, I must say its really not that easy to find clinic that knows how to deal with dark skin in this city. The last clinic I went to burned my skin & I have been so scared every since. But I am so happy I found Urban Body. If I could give them 100 stars I would! Thank you Urban Body! Also thanks for being patient with me since I am so sensitive.

The staff here are so warm and so sweet! There is also a great variety of services to choose from! The laser hair removal system is fast efficient and less painful than other machines I’ve used in the past. Overall I’d recommend this place to any friend or family member.

I go there for hair laser removal for full Brazilian, full legs, and underarms and just finished my 6th procedure out of the package of 12 (when you buy 6, you get 6 for free).

If I guess, I think 50% of hair is gone. I am glad I bought 12 procedures, as I do not believe six would have done the trick in my situation. But everyone is different, and some people I hear need fewer procedures than I do; they explain everything you need to know during the first free consultation.

The facility itself is very welcoming and clean, with fantastic staff. What I appreciate the most is how much the Urban Body team cares about you and your results. I trust that I am in the good hands of passionate about their work people with a lot of experience, and glad that I finally decided to do laser! Thank you, Urban Body!

I have gone there for 2 years in a row for laser hair removal service, and there was no changes to my hair growth!

I gave a 1 star review and a day after I posted my review, Ive got a call from the manager, surprisingly she was very respectful and understanding! After I explained about my awful experience there, she offered me to redo my laser sessions for 11 months, free!

I am now in my third session (after starting over) and I hope I get the result I was supposed to!

The clinic is great and has modern equipment. The estheticians are friendly and very good at what they do. I came in for laser hair removal and each time I felt I got the best service and was in great care.

One of the best in Vancouver. The facility is modern and clean. The location is very convenient. And the staff are very friendly. The most important part is the treatment. I’m super sensitive to pain but this is virtually painless! Definitely recommending this place.

This clinic is simply the absolute best. I was very nervous before my first appointment, but staff made me feel so safe and cared for. Over the past few years I've booked a number of different sessions with the gals at UBL and I have always had the best experience. They are honest, upfront, detailed, thorough and extremely knowledgable about all of their services. From the moment you walk into the reception / lounge area, you feel welcome, comfortable and at ease.

I had a reaction after one of my laser sessions last Fall and they were quick to respond; quick to suggest; and quick to provide me with some soothing lotions and creams. They checked in with me for weeks and made me feel at ease and not discouraged about ever booking again. And I am happy to say that I have rebooked and attended more sessions and will continue to do so!
