Urgent Primary Care & Learning Centre

After trying for 2 weeks to get through on the phone to get past the overloaded phone lines to even get to speak with anyone to get a appointment, I decided I'd just drive to Vancouver and go to a walk-in Clinic. Absolutely impossible to get to see a Doctor in Kamloops. (I don't fault the staff) The BC Medical system is extremely bad, and needs a solution. The overpriced politicians don't help, nor do they care.

Second day calling every 20 seconds- 97 phone calls today starting at 10 am just got into cue at 10: 52 and now still in hold. There has to be a better way. Who has the time to do this or who feels well enough to it to see a dr. I'd like to know what my tax dollars are spent on! This? Insanity! Better clear psych ward for people just trying to get a freakin appointment. 11: 15 still on hold! 11: 25 still listening to the elevator musicNot to mention I have to keep hearing how Interior health is here to deliver quality services
11: 32 someone answers and asks me to hold and before I respond puts me back on hold. 11;46 get a nurse on the phone who gives me the complaint line number and is very helpful. This isn't about the care they provide it is about the process to see someone when needed until a dr is available to take me on again! 11: 52 call completed and appointment for tomorrow offered.

You need to make an appointment, but it
wasn’t a long wait. Staff were extremely courteous, answered all my questions in a
friendly manner. Highly recommend,

The idiot who saw me didn't understand basic context and was the most useless medical professional I've ever seen

Third day in a row calling right at 10am and not able to get in. They say it’s full… called today at 9: 50, was hung up on and when I called back it was full again…

I had a great experience here today. The doctor was amazing, efficient and very understanding of my situation.they filled out my paperwork properly and faxed it in. They even kept a copy on file for records. It was easy to make an appt and they didn't keep me waiting for 45 mins which is the norm at the Downtown health clinic, its the worst clinic I've ever been to.

I called about 15 seconds before the office opened. Got through with no problem. Saw a doctor with no problem and received excellent service.

It is difficult to get through & yes people are ranting hard against them but they saved my life! Say what you want but please don't judge the amazing people doing amazing work by a less than ideal appointment making system.

Once your there always pleasant and clean and drs are awesome, can take a very long time to get through and no guarantee you get in same day you called. Unfortunately medical system is crashing and our government is doing nothing.

Somewhat helpful, Dr talks over you way to much and is far to condescending— while rushing you through the appointment, giving you a diagnosis of what it is before you even finish explaining your concerns and just jumping to a conclusion prematurely.

Dr. Rogers was amazing. She was so kind, gentle, & patient with the questions I had. She made me feel so comfortable & truly felt like a safe space, i’ve never had such a good experience with a doctor before. I wish she could be my regular family doctor. Can’t express how thankful I am for doctors like her.:) Also, yes it is hard to get an appointment in this office but it’s not the workers fault, so please be kind to them. You have to call a few times to even get through so be prepared to have patience. Once I finally got an appointment with them I had no issues at all.

If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. This place is a complete hot mess. I phone here over and over for all day every day for two weeks and never once speak to a person or even have the option to leave a voicemail. Nothing. So I went to the clinic and walked I. Yes I know it’s not a walk-in but what other choice do I have. So I asked them can you please at least just book me an appointment and I will come back whenever said appointment may be…. Nope sorry can’t help you bye.

Listed as a walk in, not a walk in, we paid for parking to go in but the door had a sign saying not a walk in

My daughter cut herself at school and we weren’t sure if she needed stitches or not. Dr Langford was able to take a look and tell us that yes, she needed 2-3. We were getting prepared to go up to ER but he said that he would try it if we were willing. I agreed and we got her all set up in the room. Wrapped her up in a blanket while the RN stood beside her head and stroked her face and hair, calming her down. It was a very quick process and they were AMAZING with her. I am so grateful for all of the staff and can not rave them enough. Maybe it takes forever to get through on the phones but the service you get when you arrive is nothing but amazing. Thank you UPCLC Staff and Dr Langford!

Phone tag, mystery and intrigue. Folks who already sound upset when they answer the phone and I'm publicly declining from answering any further communication with these people¯_ (ツ) _/¯

Started calling at 9: 50AM right up until 10AM when the phone lines opened and the que was immediately full, and there's now no way to get an appointment.

"Due to the volume of callers the queue is full. Call again later. "

Very very frustrating. It seems this clinic is very poorly set up.

I was 67 pound from vomiting so much for 5-7 years and the one docter there had me diagnosed with one test I'm not longer sick like I once was and I'm a healthy waight now

I know it's real challenge to get through to even book an appointment, but the administrative assistants are doing their absolute best to assist everyone they can. The ratio of administrative assistant to answer calls vs people calling to book is insane. They have all been so wonderful and helpful and Dr. Langford is amazing at what he does!

I do not blame the staff. I blame interior health. I have been trying for the past couple of weeks to get in. Today my wife and I both tried calling I called 47 times and my wife 35 times starting right at 10am. I was able to get through and thought I finally was going to get in. I was on hold for 46 minutes. Finally I got to talk to someone and she let me know that I would have to try again in the morning. She was apologetic and said there was nothing she could do and let me know had bad interior health is and they are to blame.

What a joke took 168 calls to get through. Than 20 min on hold to be told complete opposite of what was said two nights before. Lady on other lime was not professional at all

Called 25 times starting at the minute they opened and still can’t get through. Not sure if it’s worth continuing to try

I've only ever gotten through to a person once or twice in the hundreds of phone calls I've made here.

Phone doesn't get answered. Have been trying to call the last 2 days and every call has gone to their voice message. No voice-mail to leave a message.

Absolutely useless. Didn't know what to do with an ingrown toenail. /waited all day for appointment. Total waste of a day. Never been so frustrated with a clinic before.

When this place opened up, everyone was excited, especially those with kids so they don’t have to wait in line at the ER. I would give this place 0 stars if possible. I brought in my sick baby a few days ago. Dr. Newmarch has no bedside manners and does clearly not know how to treat a little baby. He was very aggressive with our baby. He should not be treating children at all. We’ve seen other doctors with our baby before. They are much different. Dr. Newmarch seems like he does not care about babies as much. Nobody comes here for fun. We only came to get our sick baby checked. He also doesn’t know the needs of a baby. He didn’t even try to comfort the baby. My baby has never cried so much. This doctor made him cry so much. I don’t recommend bringing your kids here. You’ll be disappointed. Sadly, this is the place that is recommended when we call 811.

I have been calling for a week every day, all throughout the day to make an appointment to see the doctor and not once have they picked up the phone. Horrible! I went in to see if I can make an appointment as well and they told me it's only by phone, which they never answer. Terrible clinic!
