Great selection, knowledgable friendly staff. I was looking for a low weight bag for backpacking. Gave them an idea of my price range and what I was looking for and was provided a variety of bags to inspect and try out. I found one that I think I will be very happy with.

I'd like to edit my previous review, on advice on fellow hikers (50+ group).

This is very well stocked store, and you will have plenty of time to try all you are interested in, take plenty of time without being bothered. And when you decided to purchase you will know what product is right for you. You can spend an hour in the store, pulling stuff off the racks, and no one will intrude on your space or interrupt your product search. The $400 plus item I decided on is available for less else where, and like my hiking friends whom order online exclusively, I can take advantage of the savings without disturbing the local staff.

I take back my precious review and on advice off friends who have 10s of thousand of dollars of outdoor products delivered yearly, appreciate the service that is being offered here. I hope it's always available.

I don't really shop in-store a whole lot, and I leave reviews for businesses even less.

But whenever I get something in the mail from this place, or from another location my purchase ships out from, there's always a little handwritten note like this one.

It takes little time, and can be very few words, but it's that type of small stuff that humanizes the business and keeps me coming back.

I have been very impressed with Valhalla Courtenay and will shop there first whenever I need outdoor gear. I bought a pair of hiking boots that broke down much faster than expected. They warranted them and even let me exchange them in the end for something much sturdier. I know they have had some staffing problems lately (like everyone) but the employees and owner go the extra mile to please their customers. They may be crowded in their space but they a have a good selection of gear in lots of sizes!

Shout out to the guy who helped me find my kula cloth and was very patient with me while I browsed through their products and asked him a bunch of questions!

Great customer service. I bought 3 pairs of snowshoes and then broke two of them. The staff were great and gave me my money back without any hesitation and got me better quality ones instead. Very happy with this store and will shop there again in the future. Thanks!

Tools a little of time to have service but once I had it, it was a great service. I'm happy with my purchase.
