I want to congratulate the chefs! Today I ate very delicious tripe tacos, I fell in love with the flavor, I loved them. I only have one comment for the Pozole: the flavor is good, the quantity is good, the only thing that distinguishes a pozole is the abundance of Corn in the broth. The Pozole I ate today didn't have corn, I hope my comment helps improve. Thank you for everything, by the way the pork crackling was sooooooo good

One of the waitresses has no education or manners and you are not going to pay a restaurant to make you look bad or treat you badly.

First visit. Ordered takeaway Beef Quesadilla. Portion size was small for a $19 meal. Beef was dry and hard. Very similar to other reviewer's experience but thought I'd give them a try. Not friendly for a first visit. I would not be coming back. For this price point, I can eat at another cleaner and friendlier Mexican restaurant along Kingsway & Fraser.

Used to be good but I think they sold the place after the pandemic and the new owners don't know how to make authentic Salvadorian food. Probably ok for mexican food but there are better places for that

Pupusas are mediocre too much masa and the filling didn't taste like chicharon they were off even the cheese had a different taste not to my liking the orchata was good.

It is the best mexican restaurant in vancouver the food portions are perfect and the salsa is very hot just like in mexico. It is my favorite place to eat Mexican food I recommend it

Just okay food. Got three tacos. The lingua was Overcooked with an odd taste same with the carnitas so much so It was like chowing down on wood chips. I also ordered a Tripe taco cooked crispy and after waiting about 30min for this taco it looks like raw calamari that kissed the pan! I’ve lived in the states and have had ALOT of Lingua and Tripe. Here the food was quite disappointing.

Delicious authentic lengua tacos, 10/10 boss lady makes you feel like you are at home. Serious home cooked, authentic Mexican

Really enjoyed the cheese they used on top of the burrito. Left feeling mostly satisfied but not amazed at the flavour or quality. Room for improvement but still quite delicious.

Went for the tripa taco. Very disappointing. They only had one salsa it was mediocre. You have to pay extra to get the tripa crispy. And it still came soft. The chunks were very big not fried enough. Taco had way too much cilantro. 20$ for 3 tacos is way too much

Nice lengua tacos. I asked for crispy tripa and I got the most chewing tripa ever. Carnitas were ok. Service is horrible. They forgot my order and the order for the table next to me.

Super disappointed. Was excited for a good Mexican meal. When I walked in, they seemed upset to see me there. I ordered a beer, a horchata, two tacos, a deep fried taco, and a pupusa.
Only the two tacos came, they were extremely tough. Not authentic, a quarter wedge of lime and no seasoning. Super super disappointing. I even asked for another beer, she said yes and just brings me my cheque.
So two tacos and one beer comes to 25 bucks. Never got the horchata I actually came to get lol.

This place has been here for years, and I think they make legitimate Mexican food. Overall the food was tasty but the quality of ingredients was suspect. Chips were cold and not fresh, posole was made with pork scraps (tendon), which I'd normally be really happy about but they didn't cook it long enough so it was tough. Overall a bit disappointing, but id give them a second try if i was in the area because i think Vancouver needs places like this

Whenever anyone comes to this place, the lady will greet you with a smile (Doesn't matter you are picking up or dine in customer or courier). That's the reason, i came to have my lunch today. Food was so good that i forgot to take photo. I know nothing about Mexican food and she kept explaining. As I am Bengali, I love spicy food and I will definitely come again.

I went to eat last week and asked for the carne asada, the truth seemed to me a steal the cost of the 20 Cad dish against the quality and quantity, since in Mexican restaurants in downtown the price is practically the same but with a big difference in in terms of quality, quantity and the image of the restaurant.
For sure I will never return to this place.

Fui a comer la semana pasada y pedí la carne asada, la verdad me pareció un robo el costo del platillo 20 Cad contra la calidad y la cantidad, ya que en restaurants mexicanos en downtown el precio es prácticamente el mismo pero con una gran diferencia en cuanto a calidad, cantidad y la imagen del restaurant.

The hot sauce is very hot. Very very hot. They will warn you. Don’t be like me, make sure to listen.

The food was served quickly, hot and plentiful. The owner was nice and made a stiff drink for me. I will return if I am in the area.

They have few different kind of tacos. Carnitas (pork), lengua, tripa.
Mexican beers as well. And few meals more. Small place and very kind people there.

Such good food and such lovely people! The chicken enchiladas were incredible and I wiped the plate clean. The steak burrito was also killer and absolutely LOADED.will definitely be coming back.

Ordered the steak tacos, so good, probably had an entire steak split up between the three tacos. Seemed a little pricey when I ordered it but when I realized how much steak was in the tacos I was satisfied. It was filling and fresh made.

I give it a 3 star because it's lacking more fresh salsa options but the flavors are authentic and definitely worth visiting. Their tacos de Tripa and Carnitas are delicious. Like I said, it's worth trying it out. Enjoy

A little piece of Peurto Vallarta in Vancouver. Very authentic little place. They play real Mexican music, staff are fantastic, and the nachos are to die for!

AMAZING!

Delicious pupusas at a great price. They also have horchata and then give you quite a big portion. Their salsa is chef's kiss. Additionally they have a very friendly staff. Authentic and they are bilingual. Don't only go, run there.

Cute little family run restaurant. I’d love to continue to support them but don’t feel like $14.50 for a burrito that was mostly rice is good value. Perhaps other items are better bets.

Good mexican-salvadoran food! The pancita is very good, pupusas are delicious and everything is very well served.
Service is also very kind and fast.

Tried this spot in the past with a friend and I am addicted ever since. I like the great atmosphere and delicious dishes and drinks. 5 stars from me.

This place simply knows how to satisfy their customers. Constantly with a super friendly mindset. The food is fairly priced, always yummy and neat.

We lived in California a d discovered Pupusas in the 90s. We had a few! I’ve even made them at home to some good success.
Today was my daughter’s birthday and she wanted Pupusas for dinner. I asked my cousin’s wife who’s from El Salvador and she recommended Vallartas
We pretty much all had the Pupusas which were so good. We ordered 3 per person but only one person put away all three. Very crisp crust, nice fluffy corn dough and a good amount of filling. The pickles were very crisp and crunchy with a tangy touch that cut the richness of the Pupusa. Unfortunately, the salsa on its own is nothing of note. I would not dip chips in this. But when slathered on top of the pickles it adds a new note to the taste.
In all we paid about $10/person a d were ver full and satisfied.

Fantastic food, super friendly employees, always great vibes. They charge convenient rates and the food quality is good. I recommend this place.

Cosy restaurant serving Mexican and El Salvadorian food. I was excited to try the food as I noticed the staff and some of the patrons speaking spanish. I hoped this meant that the food would be authentic and tasty. Menu was small and uninspired. Taco, burrito, enchilada etc. Similar to what you would expect from a Tex- mex restaurant. Ordered enchiladas. They came quickly and were hot. Unfortunately they didn't have much sauce and the flavour was just okay. Accompanying rice and beans were pretty bland. The small salad it also came with was very tasty, flavorful and fresh. Service was quick and professional. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I wasn't left wowed.

Its a delicious culinary experience, it transports you on a mini vacation just stepping in the door with lovely music and smells welcome you.

I constantly stop grabbing some food in this place. I enjoy the swift customer service and well made food. I recommend this place.

I take my family to this nice place from time to time! This is my favorite restaurant to to have a good dinner. I go there at least once a month. The meals are excellent, the staff is polite and the prices are fair. I like going in this spot over a decent dinner.

Ordered burritos to go and they were TERRIBLE.wife ordered pork and got a dry tortilla filled with rice.barely any meat (flavorless) and no veg or sauce. I ordered beef and got the same rice filled atrocity. These cost about 15$ each. Feels like being robbed blind. Never again.

Stopped in because of the great reviews but found it less than satisfying. Some decent dishes but over all it felt like everything was done with a lack of care and attention to the important details of flavour and colour.

Tried the nachos with beef (best dish we tried) the chips were crispy, lots of beautiful melty cheese and the beef was quite tasty. The salsa and crema accompanying did not fair quite so well, nor did the pico; it all tasted watered down and they unfortunately did not have any salsa that was in any was spicy, very odd for a place serving Mexican food.

We also had the pupusas, fried fish and enchiladas, not even worth mentioning other than to say, save your money. Presentation was okay but flavours were not the best and the pupusas were more dough than filling.

Cost wise, fair price for the quality and size of portions.

The best thing about the place was the service, our server was lovely and took really good care of us.

If you need to fill a nacho craving go for it but bring your own salsa otherwise not really worth the 30 minute trip to get there.

The food is fresh, delicious, and as far as I know, authentic. Vancouver needs more yummy Mexican places like this.

Just so much delicious food. This place needs 6 stars. Portions are enormous and require an empty belly in need of a good stuffing with yummy food.

Friendly service and delicious vegetarian substitutions make this my favourite neighborhood hole in the wall. The staff is so sweet and the burritos are giant and tasty.

We ordered a bunch of things from their Skip the Dishes menu and we were very disappointed. The tortilla soup just tasted like bland chicken broth even after adding the avocado and cheese, and same thing with the chicken enchiladas; bland. The salsa tasted like jalapeños but without flavour. The guac had weird stringy avocado bits maybe from being overly ripe. Just disappointing over all.

Wow! Stopped in here expecting to get a burrito I could eat while I was driving. Ha well you definitely can’t eat this burrito and drive And it was definitely worth the extra 15 minutes of my day. Super tasty, home cooked Mexican food and friendly owners. Added to my favourites cuz I’ll be back every time I’m in the neighbourhood and hungry

Great food and super friendly service the new owner Moe came out and checked on the food and seemed like a great guy. Our food came out quickly and was super tasty I highly recommend it!

Really delicious Mexican and Salvadorean food. Tried a variety of dishes and they were all well made and incredibly flavorful.
