I went for refractive lens exchsnge in April 2023. My experience was excellent. A very professional and calming environment relieved any anxiety i may have had. I was not even sure that with my extreme Hyperopia that i would qualify. Dr Blaylock found a solution and I'm happy to say that vision post op 6 mths later is great. I at no time experienced eye pain or dry eyes. I followed the eye drop regimen exactly as prescribed and am free from contacts although I still use light readers but that was expected with my extreme farsightedness. Overall I highly recommend Dr Blaylock and his team at Valley Laser Eye Centre

The only issue I had was expecting to be healed in a week. It took much longer than that for me.

I had PRK eye surgery with Dr. Blaylock on September 27,2021, to correct my -4.00 eyesight. And that turned out to be the greatest decision I've ever made.

During the first few months of my recovery, I had dry eyes, some ghosting, and fluctuations in my vision while the top layer of my eye healed. The dry eye persisted for approximately a year after that, but it now just occasionally occurs and is fairly subtle. I found that Vitamin C, D3, and omega 3 supplements, in my opinion, helped in the healing process and helped to prevent dry eyes.

Anyone who is on the fence about having the surgery should book that first consultation and take the first step towards potentially improving your life because my vision is now better than 20/20 and it has significantly improved my quality of life. I nearly backed out because I was afraid of all the things that could potentially go wrong, but I'm glad I didn't.

I had cataracts removed from both eyes, both on the same day. The result was much better than I expected! I found the staff to be informative and friendly, and Dr. Blaylock is both highly skilled and very personable. I had Refractive Lens Exchange surgery, something I'd been wanting to do for years, in July 2022. My optometrist recommended, emphatically, that I go to Valley Laser Eye Centre, and I'd already heard good things about them, so that's what I did. I had a great experience! Dr. Blaylock and his staff are exceptional, in terms of professionalism and friendliness. The office is spacious, quiet, private and very, very clean. The procedure itself is truly painless, as promised. The healing process is fast and simple, other than the many and various eyedrops required. My vision is 20/20 now, and what a joy it is to go swimming or gardening or driving without glasses. Plus, I'll never need cataract surgery now!

I will add, however, that my eyes are now like those of anyone my age (almost 60) with 20/20 vision, in that, while I don't technically require readers, I'm more comfortable with a 1.0+ lens for close-up work. I use a 1.5+ blue light lens for most computer work (I used a specific office lens prior to surgery) and this works great.

All in all, it was a great experience for me, with a great outcome, and I'm very glad I had it done with Valley Laser Eye Centre.

2 year update for those thinking about having RLE:
Dr. Blaylock performed RLE surgery on me. Dr. Blaylock said I was " the perfect candidate and I would not lose my excellent distance vision". I went in to correct my near distance vision. Since then have Lost my excellent pre operation distance vision. Now he tells me it could take 5 years to regain. But he doesn't tell you this pre operation.
Still Difficult to drive and dont feel safe doing so. It's been depressing. Told me they can't do anything else for me since I'm able to achieve 20/20 line off Dr. Blaylocks office eye chart. But every eye doctor knows this doesn't mean that you can see clearly in the real world. Collected $13,000 for the operation and sign a pile of liability papers. Take what Dr. Blaylock tells you and what you read on his website with grain of salt. Don't expect any follow ups from him or his office. They'll write you off.

Professional, informed me about the typical side effects for the first few weeks. I’m 3 months post op from PRK and I’ve already got better then 20-20 vision.

I originally was going to get my vision corrected at a different provider but they were so disorganized that I did not go through with the procedure. A friend recommended Valley Laser and I am glad he did.

Valley Laser is not cheap, they were quite a bit more expensive than the other well known provider I originally went to see, but according to my optometrist they are considered the best.

I am very happy with the results and i am trying to get my wife to go to see Valley to get her vision corrected.

The service was fantastic. Valley laser is a company that treats customers with respect and very professionally. Would definitely recommend!

Dr. John F. Blaylock’s “Valley Laser Eye Centre” is a shining example of how medicine should be practised. Professional, relaxed, and skilled treatment in a superbly equipped clinic with well trained and friendly staff. Dr. Blaylock removed and replaced one Intraocular Lens Implant that I had received at another clinic and performed cataract surgery and implanted an IOL in my other eye.

I especially valued the opportunity to have a full and detailed informative conversation with Dr. Blaylock concerning treatment options without the pressure of time constraints.

I am very happy with the results of my laser cataract surgery. I am a pilot, so I chose mono vision lenses so that I would have the best distant vision I could possibly have. The inserted toric lenses did an outstanding job of correcting my astigmatism. I wear progressive eye glasses for my near vision. My vision now is the best that it has been in my entire life. When I came out of the surgery and was riding home with my wife, I asked her who turned up the contrast and color saturation on the world while I was in the Valley Laser Eye Centre. I am a very satisfied customer of Dr. Blaylock and his staff.

I had a good experience with the folks at Valley Laser Eye Centre. I had PRK, which is reshaping of the cornea to improve eyesight. The healing process went well, though it didn't turn out to be 100%. Still was a great experience and worth every penny.

A great experience, staff is wonderful and very supportive, they get back to you quickly on any e-mails and give you clear information so you know exactly what is going on. Dr. Blaylock explains everything clearly and doesn't rush you through anything, he listens patiently and seems like he really cares. I had both eyes done with refractive lens replacement and couldn't be happier. The procedure was painless and even the same day after the surgery my eyes were only slightly sore and the next day didn't have any irritation. The second day my vision started clearing (first day things are still settling in) and I could read an ingredient label, the third day most of the light-sensitivity was gone and I could read the extra-fine print on a pill bottle! I highly recommend this business!

I had both of my lenses replaced and wanting perfect vision, I chose the best lenses money could buy. Although Covid 19 made things more difficult I was not impressed that I never received my follow up after a few months. After experiencing headaches I called Valley Laser eye centre and requested an exam and was told to visit my local optometrist. After being transferred to a technician it was determined that I had not had my follow up exam. It turned out that I did have a prescription in my one eye. I had the eye resurfaced with a laser and it is better but not perfect. I was responsible for paying for the prescriptions again and another 2 eye exams and now have to request a refund for the second eye exam. You would think that for $11,000.00 you would receive better service. Overall I'm not sure if it was worth doing.

I required cataract surgery in both eyes. My optometrist recommended Dr. Blaylock and his clinic. In all my interactions with Dr. Blaylock and his staff, I found them to be cheerful, attentive, and, above all, professional.
As a result of these interactions, I was confident, if not totally relaxed, on the day of surgery. My confidence was well placed. Again, I found Dr. Blaylock and his staff cheerful, attentive, professional and, importantly, reassuring, throughout the preop, the procedure, and the postop.
The results of the surgery were and are amazing. Upon leaving the clinic the vision in my left eye was better than I ever remember it being, even with glasses. Now, four days later, the vision in my right eye is almost as good as in my left eye and my binocular vision astounds me. I see detail and experience depth in tree bark and stones I have never noticed before.
In summary, I am absolutely delighted with my experience with Dr. Blaylock and the results of the surgery. I would recommend Dr. Blaylock, without reservation, to anyone requiring cataract surgery.

Cataracts progressed quickly and was disrupting my ability to work. Covid had bumped the dates out 18 months. VLEC under tight covid related precautions was able to schedule me in, my eyesight has been restored, and is better than ever. Great staff, advanced leading edge solutions, and quick recovery due to the nature of the laser surgery. I only get one go at getting my lenses replaced, so I wanted the best chance of the best possible outcome.

I was very satisfied with Dr Blaylock and his team and the safe handling practices because of the Covid 19 crises we are having right now. I would highly recommend Valley Laser Eye Center to anyone.

Two weeks have passed since my RLE surgery with Dr. Blaylock. I can not adequately express my gratitude or understate how impressed I was with Dr. Blaylock himself, his staff and the facility as a whole. I opted for the latest in multifocal lenses and the result has been frankly unbelievable. The only way that I can describe it adequately is to say that I feel that I have my teenage eyes back (I'm now 52). These lenses have completely corrected my near vision (my biggest problem), mid and long vision.

Two days after surgery I was using my phone, reading, driving without any issues at all. I just had a two week post-surgery check up with my optometrist who described both my vision and the quality of the procedure as "perfect". He also quipped that he was not surprised since there's no one better than Dr. Blaylock, who performed his lasik operation years ago.

I enthusiastically recommend Dr. Blaylock, Valley Laser Eye Centre and multifocal RLE surgery for anyone that is ready to happily toss your glasses away for life.

I am so happy that I looked up Dr. Blaylock when my eye doctor told me I needed cataract surgery and the wait time for even an initial consultation in Kelowna was going to be 6 months. VLEC slotted me in within a few weeks and I had the surgery in June. My vision is now 20/20 in both eyes, and Dr Blaylock and his team were fantastic-reassuring, told me exactly what to expect during the procedure, and exhibited the utmost in professionalism. My feeling is that paying VLEC for the surgery instead of waiting for an MSP-funded procedure was well worth it.

Dr. Blaylock and his team are very knowledgeable and caring. They could’ve made me put down the deposit and schedule the surgery right away, but the doctor told me that it’s better to wait till I turn 23 (to make sure my eye prescription is stable enough). “If you were my kid, I’d tell you to do that” is what he said, and that really warms my heart:). I had my eyes corrected by Valley Laser Eye Center a year ago. I wish I had gone to them 10 years ago. Every one of the staff members were terrific to deal with. Dr. Blaylock explained clearly the various options and procedures, was very forthcoming about the pros and cons on them all and priced all the options so his profit is the same and he can't be biased to sell one over the other. He genuinely allows his patients to make their own decisions for their own preferences empowered by the facts. The initial consults and surgery and follow ups were great, the recovery lasted a little longer than I would have hoped (I chose PRK) but was made aware of the potential side effects. I had my ICL implants done a year ago. I had severe myopia and astigmatism in both eyes and was not a lasik candidate. My vision is now 20/20 without correction. The only down side, is that I still have hallows around lights at night. I was very happy with the care I received from the staff at valley laser eye center, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking into a corrective procedure in order to be free of glasses and/or contacts. Do it! You won’t regret it

Though the end result after my lens replacement is not optimal, it was not due to lens placement but due to a preexisting retinal condition. Dr Blaylock and staff are awesome!

Had both eyes done and are very happy. Do not wear glasses any more except for reading.
