This is my favourite Value Village, the managers are so lovely and kind. The finds here are quirky and different. My only critique is the art is soooooooooo expensive.
21 September 2022 9:25
Don't bother if you are looking for physical media like records or CD's. Extremely overpriced by people who don't know what they are pricing. About 5-10x more expensive than actual records stores. That's right, you could own a beat up John Denver record for $19.99+tax! Waste of time
06 September 2022 3:02
Prices are ridiculous on most items. Selection in the store is really picked over and nothing exciting, yet you see lots of donations in the back that probably never make it to the sales floor.
It used to be good but it's worse every time I go in and the last few times haven't bought anything due to how crazy the prices are and lack of anything interesting.
05 September 2022 9:54
Had nothing good all the stuff was in bad condition like yes its a 2nd hand store but this stuff looked like it went to hell and back
01 September 2022 3:02
Never been a Fan of VV, but this location is the best I have been to. People are kind, most items aren't at rip off prices and they actually carry brands in my size in New and Like new condition.
21 August 2022 13:23
Not very impressive! I get it.it's maple ridge but have a little pride and clean up ur store some and a little bit of organizational skills never hurt anyone's sales! Just saying!
21 August 2022 5:26
Great second hand store! Everything is neat and tidy, hung on hangers, nicely organized, and clean. Though the lady that was working at the counter that has all the jewelry and name brand stuff, she definitely does not have the personality to be in the customer service line of work. Other, than that a great store all around
31 July 2022 16:37
Not a very big selection, resourcing plus sizes. VV in mission has a large selection. Ask donation based i guess but.
09 July 2022 3:09
Had an interaction with Adrian at the first till, I had just paid for my purchases and was waiting for my daughter who was looking in the glass case, she said "you need to leave the store now, is there a reason your standing there? " I told her I was waiting for my daughter and that she was super rude. I get that it's 8: 57 and your off, she could have handled that more tactfully. On top that each staff member followed me around to encourage me to leave. Won't be back.
08 July 2022 8:43
Don’t buy glassware or anything fragile here - they won’t provide any tissue paper to wrap items up and will throw them in the bag after you’ve paid with little care or attention.
06 July 2022 9:58
Store is always clean and tidy despite customers constantly leaving things all over the place. Staff is generally friendly and helpful and the process during the pandemic was easy to understand and follow

Dear Value Village,

I am breaking up with you. I used to LOVE shopping there, when clothing were reviewed and stained, torn clothing was NOT sold and household items were also reviewed for damages prior to being sold.

I am breaking up with you because, I used to be able to try clothing on. Now, my only option to to hope the size that typically fits, actually fits, and/or I like it on. These days, with gas prices being insane, purchasing clothing to drive home, try them on only to discover that I don't like it, requires me to continue to repeat this SAME process, because no refunds are allowed either. So, Value Village, I will be supporting these little independent thrift stores who ACTUALLY allow me to try things on before I buy.

Also, if malls have changing rooms back open, why don't you?

I also donate LOTS, being a mother of 4 and all. I will not be donating to you either.

Sincerely disappointed,

Terilynn

This is just the closest location to me, but I just strongly dislike the company in general. The prices are stupidly overpriced.might as well just go buy new because it'll be the same price or often cheaper. It's a store that gets all their merchandise free and then have the audacity to charge that much for USED items. It's ridiculous.
04 June 2022 21:52
They are overpriced and anything is sold no matter its damaged or nonfunctional condition.
I often find same items in better condition and always cheaper. As they allow exchange only i am stuck having to buy something not needed as exchange must be done that day or forfeit my money. Worst return policy I've ever encountered.
I'm told that the ridiculously high prices charged for items GIVEN FREE.are because they donate a very small portion to charities.
I say let the charities look after their own donations and stop getting rich off the generosity of others.

I work in costumer service and this value village has the worst customer service ever, the younger staff is amazing but the older staff I’ve never seen smile once. I understand costumer service can be draining but it makes me upset to see such rude people working in customer service!
31 October 2021 11:38
Disgusted with the staff behaviour today, I cannot believe they hire such dishonest people. I was in early this morning and picked out several clothing items and put it in my basket including this sweater I was very excited to have found. A younger staff member on the floor looked like she was shopping maybe during a break? She kept hovering near my basket and at one point I saw she was bent over beside it and she kept looking if I was looking at her. I thought it was annoying and sort of weird but didn't think much of it. When I got home I realized the sweater was not in the bag and one shirt I found was missing as well. I checked my receipt and see that I was not charged for them hence they were not in the basket. This staff member took 2 items out of my basket! There was no one else in the same isle/row and no one was near my basket. COMPLETELY ANNOYED.

Its Value Village.
People come to get cheap work shirts, Halloween Costumes, TV remotes, phone chargers and occasionally stumble across some cool stuff.
04 August 2021 0:04
Small store. Looks old, slightly run down and in desperate need of a renovation.

The isles and sections are quite small and hard to browse if there is other people there at the same time.

Staff is no nonsense. They are not overly friendly.

They tend to watch you like a halk, yet nowhere to be found when you need assistance at the showcase.

One thing I noticed, was that Prices were lower on some items then in the Vancouver area.

Exchanging was easy (clothing & shoes within 14 days with original receipt and tags still attached) as fitting rooms remain closed.

Lastly, The stupidest things I saw that they were selling were SINGLE shoes! Yes because I’m sure that people will lose a shoe, go straight to VV, and find it’s mate - same size & same style…. Good thing they have the exchange policy!
01 August 2021 12:57
Hard to enter this location because the unloading area is at the entrance to the donations drop off area
Still great employees with a smile
20 July 2021 12:57
Prices are insanely high here. They get the product for free then jack the prices so high you might as well go buy it new. Also the 20% off deal only goes up to a $30 purchase.
Save your time and money and shop anywhere else!
18 July 2021 18:42
Prices getting ridiculously high. I could buy a brand new item for similar price when it is on sale. Greed is one of the sins.
16 July 2021 20:25
Nice and friendly staffs (mostly). Lot of stuffs to shop.several stuffs are split and packed in different bags, so you need to buy many of then to make its a set.price ranges all over some times you find same item for less than half the price (if you are lucky). Cloths and electronics are priced higher, even some time more than than the new one.conveniently located, spacious and well stocked store, prices, can't complaint- if you are lucky then you get cheaper rates.
12 July 2021 1:01
I shop at VVs a lot and items here are priced higher than average.

Check out the ridge meadows hospice thrift store or mintage thrift for much better deals in Maple Ridge.
27 June 2021 21:54
My daughter and her friends loves this place, they always go to this place every time her friends from North Vancouver comes over to visit.
17 June 2021 12:01
I found the staff very rude. I also found that they were very rude to me when I asked for a discount on a item that I wanted but was broken then they tried to say that I broke it. I would not shop and Value Village in maple ridg e it's the worse one I've ever been in
28 April 2021 6:02
A lot of things are over priced. Even dollar store items are bing priced 2.2-3 times of their dollar store value. I don’t think I will be donating or supporting this store anymore
26 April 2021 10:37
Loved it! I found a shake weight when I first walked in. Used it for the entire shop then put it back. Got a full arm pump and didn't end up buying anything. Would do again
24 April 2021 4:10
Love this Value Village. Always find good stuff whether it's clothes, housewares or books and movies. We always find something good.
08 April 2021 17:27
Typical value village store. The mix of products is an example of the donations in the area. You can always find something of use, as there is such a mix of items.
07 April 2021 11:51
I find this to be one of the better Value Villages in the lower mainland. Good quality with fair prices.
27 March 2021 19:18
Terrible prices and the manager was not considerate at all. I bought snow pants and tried at home because fitting rooms were closed, it doesnt fit so I went back to return. Does not give me credit or refund but only exchange. Worst store.
23 March 2021 0:18
Everything was fine until the cashier was obviously having a bad day and made up a new receipt policy on the spot
20 March 2021 13:36
Great! Dropped off some items for donation and received a 20% off coupon. Went in and browsed and found a great little media stash in mint/brand new condition all for under $22! Can't beat that! If you take the time you'll for sure find something you didn't know you were looking for nor knew you needed. Lol
10 March 2021 3:46
I took an item to the cashier to pay with price tags on them and the cashier wanted someone to do another price check on the item thinking it was priced too low ‍️‍️ wth we are at a donation center and they have the guts to up the price right in front of me. Made me feel so wrong and humiliated! Worst store in BC!
09 March 2021 15:06
I stop shopping there’s long ago. They are way overpriced and well for a second hand store you would think they would sell it for a cheaper price. I think they change there customers Way to much. Where you can go and by the same clothing from the actual place where you can get it brand. New. Like example. There was a Walmart brand George T-shirt at this store priced at 10.99 and at Walmart sells the same top for 5.97 brand new. Just a plain gray top. So now I stopped shopping at this store completely and all value village stores. They are way to expensive to shop at now. Just be careful when you buy items from the store get to know your pricing and compare it to other retail stores that sells the same identical item. Sometimes value Village likes to rip off customers. I wish I could give a 0 review. But I guess a 1 will do.
05 March 2021 10:34
Had to get a price check took a while and other customers getting upset. Personally in butted in front of all others in line cashier and security did nothing. Management at Langley location is lazy and don't feel valued as customer. Will be going elsewhere with donations.

Today February 10th, 2021 at about 11: 20 am I was at Value Village, Maple Ridge and i was looking to some electronics, receivers. Of course, I was pressing an open/close button from a receiver and i was taking some pictures of the receiver to review the pictures at home, to see if the receiver fits properly in my house. One of the employees, approached me in a very rude way saying that " how is that help you " I tried to ignore him while I was still looking to some electronics.and he came again beside me saying that " I am not leaving bro ". I told him, is my right to test them and he said " well i test them before " I would like to mention that now 3 weeks ago i bought a receiver and 5 satellites and one of the satellites dosen`t work but for the price i payed i am happy with only four satellites. Basically he stalked me. A very nice lady, I guess was a manager came, and she had a conversation with this employee. I called Value Village again, and I let them know about this employee. REMEMBER: Because all the things are second hand, it`s our right to test them, and don`t trust them when they say " we test them before ". Test everything that you wanna buy, because they put " final sale " on price and you buy them and u can`t return them, and if an employee approaches you in a rude way, make sure you do rapport the incident.

Thank you!

Some things may be a little costly but you do find a few gems here and there. And the staff is really nice
03 February 2021 1:12
I like this Value village, it's well layed out and I can usually find at least one thing I'm looking for, my only complaint is I feel some of their clothes are overpriced compared to other thrift stores, Abbotsford still has the best thrift stores in the lower mainland
26 January 2021 6:12
A pretty big and well stocked VV. I go regularly to look for manga in their fairly large book section and have had a lot of good luck.
12 January 2021 9:17
Was there only once so far, private sale day.came an hour after opening since its far for me so I miscalculated a bit.it was already totally picked over! Apart from that, I like the layout.when opportunity arises, I will go again to try my luck.
27 December 2020 7:33
Prices are ridiculous for used clothing and the knick knacks are cheaper new at the dollar store
21 November 2020 19:22
Ii went inside and i bought a blanket, then i pay for it, after i left, that was the experience
20 November 2020 13:42
Prices have climbed considerably since I raised my children on consignment and second hand clothing. Now I buy for grand children on a senior's pension and definitely noticed the difference!
05 November 2020 22:32
Was turned around at the door because dogs aren’t allowed in. Funny how a store that sells hand-me-downs and old clothes won’t allow dogs in yet Winners and Homesense (which I’ve seen have better prices on new stuff than Value Village) does allow dogs no problem. That’s ok, I’ll spend my money elsewhere. There are many other businesses struggling at the moment that I’d be happy to give my money to.
28 October 2020 19:13
At least somebody has figured out how to make good money with covid. Heres the reason for 1 sad little star, the change rooms are closed, which is fine, but their policies have not changed to account for this. If you are like me and you take 3 items home in order to find the 1 item that fits your manly curves then you are only able to bring the other 2 back for exchange.not for refund.
17 September 2020 19:16
Excellent thrift store. I've been to my share of Value Village's and in my opinion the Maple Ridge one is the best. Very friendly, helpful staff. They always have excellent selections and the biggest maternity section I've ever seen in a thrift store. Obviously things could be a little more clean, however it is a thrift store so I believe it's acceptable.
04 September 2020 21:20
The check out process is so aggravating!
Its not uncommon to wait in line for 10 to 15 minutes. Managment is just as slow and unhelpful that you cant expect more from the employees
30 August 2020 1:49
It's value village so always a gamble as to what you'll find. The return policy is a joke so know what you're getting before leaving the store. Lots of sales are final! Prices are often 1/3 of retail value which is a savings but not as much as you might wish/expect. Book selection is pretty decent.
