Van Pet Food, Supplies and Grooming - Burnaby

I went here today with concerns of my pets skin condition, I was seeking ways to change his diet to something better and I ended up leaving with so much more knowledge thanks to how helpful the woman working was. I appreciate how caring she was as well, I will definitely be back!

Ronnie was absolutely wonderful with our 8 year old baby kitty - 1st time having her groomed and he did a fabulous job! Thank you for removing her hair mats! <3

Exceptional Groomer
I have been to other groomers and Ronnie is by far the best.
I have a long haired cat who easily gets matts.
Because of medical issues I did not take her in when I should have.
It was a very challenging job for the groomer as the matts were large and to her skin. Ronnie did an excellent job, he managed to remove all the matts. He has a gentle approach and my cat is never stressed when I bring her home.
I am very happy to have found Ronnie and I would highly recommend him. Thank You

Ronny is the best groomer in Burnaby, always patient with my little Bella, he even fit me in on his lunchbreak to do her nails before his holidays! That already tells you what kind of person he is. I always tip him, most groomers are under appreciated for what they do, I'm glad we found Ronny and I hope he stays at VanPet furever lol

Ronnie is the best! He is amazing with my cat and always does a great job grooming my little exotic short hair. Ronnie is always so friendly, professional and diligent. He is very detailed in his work and I am very happy with his service. He is so good with my cat and will provide a caring and relaxed atmosphere for your pet. Ronnie was ah-mazing! We brought our two cats in for their very first hair cut with no idea how they would react. Our little girl was very scared and would do absolutely anything to avoid the clippers. Ronnie was so patient, calm, helpful and very efficient with working around her attitude lol. He set in place a strategy to calm her down and we ended up with 2 beautiful lion cuts for our babies and no scratches or kitty traumas! He was very knowledgeable, experienced and overall fun to be around for our appointment! Highly recommend Ronnie for cat grooming!

Ronnie is an excellent dog groomer and really treats my fur babies with the utmost care that they deserve. He always is extremely pleasant and more than happy to accommodate my fur babies and their special needs. Definitely good value and stellar service

Sorry I know I am late writing a review but I just want to say thank you for the groomer Ronnie did such a good job on my cat Jessie back in March. He allowed me to stay with my cat the whole time during the grooming just to calm her down and Ronnie did such a good job on my cat. Thank you Ronnie!

Made a visit to Van Pet Food for some treats and toys.

Was very upset to see that their store cat seemed to be very unwell. His eyes were watery and one was for the most part kept closed. He seemed to be in pain.

When I inquired with the staff member (a younger guy) he seemed to kinda shrug it off saying "we think he has an ear infection".

When I asked if they were going to be taking him to the vet, his response was very uncaring saying "probably".

I am VERY upset to see that not only is the poor kitty sick, but it seems they aren't doing anything to take care of him.

I only shop here for my cat's supplies. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, prices are on par with other stores, and the shop cat can often be seen lounging on the counter. Great neighborhood pet supply.

The owners are lovely. The selection of pet food and supplies are amazing. Lots of things that you wouldn’t find at PetSmart

Staff and services are fantastic. We have 2 dogs and get regular food/treat/supply deliveries from Van Pet. They respond quickly and constantly keep you informed about your orders and shipping details. Ellen is an absolutely gem! She is always happy, quick to respond and great with our pups (even though they bark at her every time she stops in for a delivery). Van Pet Burnaby is awesome and we could not recommend them more! Thanks for everything!

Hated my experience.my cat is a buetiful short hair.the groomer gave him a stupid lion cut.then I found out my cat had a rash and toe fungus. 233.vet bill.never again.

Great pricing, lots of products, and excellent customer service. They allowed us to exchange a feeding bowl that wasn't right for cat without problem. They will even deliver if you order ahead of time.

Van Pet has been an essential in our home for many years, we love Tamara and how much knowledge she has and has helped up greatly navigating through our various pets. The recent upgrades in the store are great, it's clean, bright, and just modern. Their selection is great and they have something for ever pet in the household. Will continue to go back for years.

From 2000-2014 & 11 months ago I have depended on this place to help me care for my furkids. 3 beautiful healthy cats and they seem happy too. The staff are kind and care about the animals they serve. They go above and beyond to help me and I'm very grateful. If I can't find what I want they do their best to get the help I need. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Excellent product selection and service. I was treated to great recommendations and samples when selecting a new dog food. Same-day delivery is available in the neighborhood.

Long story short - I love this store because of Tamara (I hope I spelled her name correctly)! First we went to this store was ~3months back with our 9 week old golden retriever pup Gina! Given that this was our first dog ever, we received the much needed support and guidance from Tamara that we did not expect. Every product that she has recommended us - from food to toys and chew toys- our pup Gina has absolutely loved them all! Today she recommended us a harness for leash training and boy did it work wonders!
Like us, Gina also loves to see Tamara every time we visit the store. She gives us tonnes of practical tips that have proven more useful than a puppy class! Great store.great products and a staff member like Tamara who goes way beyond regular customer service.

Lovely independent owners that are very nice and helpful. The cool cat on the front counter gives me a cool vibe of the place. This is my go to place to get dog treats/food.

From outside I thought that the store was small. Contrariwise it is pretty big with a great varieties of food and toys, even for small pets. I was pleasantly surprised and defenely this will be my pet store from now on. My pets really appreciated my visit at Van Pet Food today!

Ronnie did a wonderful job giving a lion cut to our princess cat, Lynxie! It was nice for us as well as we could stay with her while she got her cut - much less traumatic for her! Highly recommend! We’ll be back!

Van Pet Food is a fundamental part of the Barnaby Heights Community. I feel so welcomed whenever I'm there. I used their delivery services for cat food in the midst of COVID-19 regulations and they delivered my order within an hour of me placing it! They carry a variety of excellent and diverse brands and am especially glad they carry so many local brands. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me to make sure I had everything I needed for my first pet. Haven't tried out their grooming services and am a little nervous my cat will be her usual diva self, but if I were to trust anyone, it would be the folks at Van Pet Food. Thanks for all that you do, Van Pet Food!

I've been going to VanPet for the last few years and they have always done their best to answer any and all questions I have and make sure my pup is fed the best food on the market!

Ronnie was great giving my senior cat Choochie a much needed Lions cut. She seems so much better for it. It took me months to make this decision and I am so glad it is done.

Very attentive and kind staff who are willing to go the extra mile for you and your fur babies. Reasonable prices and they seem to be having more sales!

Came in on Sunday- it was very busy but the Young lady who helped me made sure had everything i needed and was very knowledgeable

I like VanPet, this location however, I was the only customer in store yet no 'hello, no 'can I help you find something', no 'goodbye. Just stood there and watched me. Friendly service does make a difference.

The main lady that works here is very passionate and helpful. I simply tried to buy nail clippers for my cat and she asked me if I had clipped his nails before and showed me how on the cat at the store. Every time I ask a question about a product I receive much more info than I thought there was. They promote local and natural products here and give great advice on them too. I shop here regularly and couldn't recommend it more.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Fair prices but not the cheapest and not as many sales as the chain stores. Given that, they do have a good loyalty program and I am happy to support local small businesses.

Love this shop and it variety for your pet needs they have a small adoption area * cats* that will have some sweet faces to see. Their store cat Kacey is super sweet

Second visit taking my long haired kitty to see the groomer Ronnie. He’s very attentive with her, and sweet talks her while still getting everything done. First visit we just did a trim of belly and bum (to prevent dingleberries lol!) and we were impressed.
Second visit I requested a more overall trim, without going into a lion cut. Ronnie did a great job, my cat looks like she lost a few lbs of hair alone.
I will definitely continue using Ronnie as our groomer, it’s hard to find a reliable cat groomer.

Over the past 2 1/2 years I’ve had nothing but the best experience with the groomer Ronnie.he is So patient with my dog and always takes his time I highly recommend This groomer and store for all your pet supplies.

Be careful with the grooming. Awful experience. My Pomeranian has a chunk missing out of her forehead (why you’d even take the clippers to a dogs forehead is beyond me), the entire cut is botched, uneven, too short. Only offered a $5 discount. My husband went back and we were refunded the entire amount ($63). See attached photos.

Ronnie the groomer is great. I've been taking my terrier mix (not an easy breed) to him for over 2 years now and every time he is well groomed, not stressed out, and Ronnie always follows our requests exactly. Wouldn't take our dog anywhere else!
