Vanak Market and Deli

I drove for an hour each way to shopping at this market but unfortunately I found out The cashier she’s so rude and un polite, nice market but snobby cashier.

Well organized, reasonable prices, Iranian brand groceries, and Halim on weekends you can find home made like Iranian food and Iranian groceries brand

You can find Persian groceries plus delicious Persian foods in there. I highly recommend to try their Ash reshte (an Iranian traditional soup)

I had a concerning experience with Vanak Market. I purchased kashk that turned out to be bitter and rotten, which could be dangerous if consumed. When I tried to return it, the staff initially didn't respond and cited their policy. After persistence, I managed to return it, but the manager's response was unwelcoming. Unfortunately, their customer service and responsiveness were lacking.

I had an order kobideh from Vanak market today. It was so bad and dry and then I found out they pre made it in the morning and microwavd it after.also how knows when was pre made it. They said we made it in the morning, but I can not trust them. Anyway this market is so dirty and unorganized. It was my first and last purchase at this market. I am going to report to heath canada.this market is not safe to buy food. It was dirty cat was walking in the store. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING

They didn't have a good reputation for their produce section but the last time I checked I noticed some improvements including fresher produce and a small fresh juice section which complements the shopping experience. Overall, the store is better managed than before. They have competitive grocery prices compared to other budget grocery markets such as Persia Foods. They also have a small deli for lunch and dinner takeouts.

Iranian young woman working this afternoon with her hair tied back was extremely rude and disrespectful. Treated all of the customers like they owe her money. She should not be a cashier.

This is the best grocery store in all of Canada. Delicious Persian and middle eastern foods, fresh veggies, friendly people, great snacks, affordable, and always something fun to try. I wish I lived closer to it… I'd shop nowhere else.

Excellent prices and quality on many grocery items, friendly staff. Will be coming back often. The take out area with hot food is delicious, must try!

Just bought a Ghorme sabzi stew for 10$ (no rice)! It’s almost 5-6 spoons with. Tiny piece of meat! Never buying again

Super cute store I got turkish delights, fruit leather and labneh. The labneh is the best I've had super tasty and good prices too.

Love this grocery store because of the terrific prices especially on produce! They aren't as big as Persia Foods but also not as crowded!

Owner doesn’t pay his employees, but is married and pays for his girlfriend’s apartment. Don’t shop here

Great little deli that has hot pre-made Iranian food. The lubia Polo with lamb shank was excellent and a great value at $12. The carafes was juicy. The gormeh Sabzi did not have limu omani and the kidney beans were not fully cooked. But otherwise everything was excellent and they were very generous with the rice.

It used to be one of my favourite stores as I go do my grocery. I was surprised today with their new teenager worker! Very rude, didn’t say hi and was throwing my groceries around while scanning! I had to say “excuse me! Please don’t throw my groceries like that” obviously no answer! I was so surprised!

They usually have good prices but sometimes food quality is low. Staff & other customers have little regard for COVID-19 protocols (ie mask wearing & distancing).

Great shop great prices specially for fruit veggies, good meats as well sometimes marinaded. Great yogurt with herbs or plain and fetta available. Wonderfully nice staff and they even have hot food sometimes.

Great store for quick last minute purchases. Great prices too. Location has iodized salt which is what I was looking for.

The price of groceries are responsible.
There customer service are respectively and kind.
The meats are very delicious.
I appreciate all they working hard in this Persian store to prepare excellent quality grocery for customers.

Used to love the take out and was a must go when i was in Lonsdale. But.no more! You can reduce the quality and quantity of food, you can increase the price. But if you do all 3 at the same time, you are telling me you don't care about customers and only your profits. No wonder you have to put a stand outside advertising in english.

There is a take out place across the street where I am going instead.

No social distancing whatsoever. No hygiene whatsoever. It is scary. But a trip to Vanak is also a trip to the Iran of 60s and 70s. It is so nostolgic.

Nice place in North shore to find Persian food ingredients, Fresh vegetables. When it comes to the products in bottles or cans, they never carry the same brand for more than a week.

Not that what I expected as a Persian grocery store. I was looking for cream (khame) and sangak and they didn't have any of them. Don't know about Deli though.

Excellent little market on Lonsdale with a dandy produce section and many persian oriented and western food choices.

I love this market. The prices are very reasonable, the produce is plentiful, fresh and delicious. There are things here you just can't get at more commercial super markets. The good people who work here are always friendly and knowledgeable.

They don't always have everything, but they are cheaper than Loblaws, and often better quality than Persian foods down the road

Very good, you can find persian and mediterranean spices and food or sweeties, kitchen products meat fresh vegetables and fruits, explore in other cultures food and world, looks like founding a new planet, highly recommended, cheers!

I ordered “Gohrmeh Sabzi” with rice for dinner. It was exactly like Persian foods with high quality beef and rice.
The staff was friendly and polite. Highly recommended:)

Great prices on fresh produce, nuts, dried herbs. Many specialty items, such as rose and mint water, available. Store is clean and well organized.

The blonde woman at the checkout was extremely aggressive toward me and my sister, when it was time for me to pay I pulled my debit card out of my pocket and was about to say "by debit please" before she interrupted me and said: "BEZAN" in a very nasty tone. (which means "tap" btw) she handed me the receipt, and didnt even say thank you. _. On second thought i should have confronted her about her attitude. Oh well, let's hope she learned something from reading all of this.

Best in North Vancouver, or at least the best I've been to. Tell your staff to smile, that's their job!

You will find some good prices and good products but not organized and well managed in general.
