Was with them for years until they lied to us about doing my dad's income tax after his death so I could get money back for funeral expenses then once I got the refund they made me pay a CC bill (that they said I wouldn't have to unless it was for more than the funeral expenses and it wasn't) so my dad dies and they lie to me for what was probably mostly interest and they wouldn't even negotiate. I would avoid Vancity at all costs.

If you want a headache that is the place to go. They do not understand the meaning of certified cheque and put a hold on the certified cheque that was issued by themselves at VANCITY. Fortunately I did not need the money at the time and opted to take the certified cheque to west Pender branch to deposit it without hold. I wish someone in VANCITY could teach their personnel the difference between their own issued certified cheque and certified cheque issued by other banks and personal cheques since no one in that branch knew the difference (I left the bank draft and other banking products alone since I did not want to hear any further irrelevant non-sense and get ruin my weekend ruined in that branch)

Withdrew some cash for a trip abroad and asked if they charged an exchange fee. To which, he responded “No, it’s free”. Did the math when I got home as I was in a rush at the time. 3.2%. Nice. Langara college…

I opened an account Johnny L (account manager) and he was very knowledgeable and walked me through the options that best suited my needs. I was impressed by how quickly my account was set up, and I appreciated that he made sure I was aware of the various bonuses and products I could be eligible for. I recommend seeing Johnny for your banking needs!

Today I walked into Vancity at Pemberton Plaza for assistance. Stood at the till for a couple minutes only however I couldn't help notice multiply staff elsewhere in the bank in which not one of them acknowledged their was a customer. I went to the new Lonsdale branch after I walked out and was served within seconds with a very helpful fella. Terrible staff here and to to Lonsdale if possible.

Incredibly slow service, twenty minutes in the business line and it hasn't moved.
