One of the best experiences I have had with any kind of medical professional anywhere in the world. The take the time to explain things, are patient, they offer advice, you really get the impression they are there to help you and you actually mean something as a client. We’ve moved 45 minutes a way, but will continue to drive in to support these wonderful people.

Horrible experience. Part of the staff is not prepared to work with public. They double-booked a patient at the same time when I had my appointment and passed the other customer which had just arrived in front of me even after I waited for almost an hour. One of the receptionist tried to blame me by that. Ridiculous. I do not recommend them.

Most wonderful team works here. Both me and my husband had an appointment with Dr. McDougall and he took time explaining all details. Later I’ve ordered glasses as they have best options for quality frames, they have done an excellent job.

I had a wonderful experience with Vancouver Block Optometrists. The office was welcoming and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had a complete eye exam by Dr. Flak who was extremely knowledgeable and professional. She was very thorough in investigating my concerns with my eye health and provided me with easy to implement at home treatments for my very uncomfortable dry eye symptoms. I am beyond pleased with the results of her recommendations and with my experience at this practice. The cost of my exam was also very reasonable. I would absolutely recommend this practice to anyone looking for an optometrist in Vancouver.

The optometrist was very helpful, professional and personable! I really appreciate how he was able to squeeze me in when I had a sudden issue with my eye while on vacation.

Had my second visit with Dr. Flak today. Again, she explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. She's also super nice.as are all the staff. Great location too.

Great place to get my eyes checked! I needed a new optometrist and after a few places, I found Vancouver Block. The staff are friendly and very fast with ordering the new Zeal frames I wanted. Dr. Flak is very knowledgeable and gave some great info on keeping my vision healthy. Thank you!

A patient since 1999. The best care, a wonderful team - experienced and personable. From the moment you walk in you are welcomed, then every person you meet is kind, knowledgeable and accommodating to your needs. They listen and are concerned with every level of your heath and well being. AND they have fantastic selection of frames to compliment any face or fancy. I love Ottico. I can not compliment them enough. I started with them in my 20’s and will be with them until forever is up.

I love the optometrists, all of them are so good, and get my prescriptions right. But my last experience with the frames specialist was less than stellar, as when I stated my budget, she laughed. I got a complete set of progressive glasses at my budget elsewhere, and is still the best glasses I’ve had. That’s why I gave them 4 out of 5 stars. The optometrists are the best.

Our family could not be happier with the care we have received over the years from the entire team at Ottico. Dr. McDougall is thoughtful, kind, and thorough, and fantastic with our two young children. On several occasions the front office staff went out of their way to help us with an issue-whether that was helping repair a broken frame or replacing a lost set of glasses. I would emphatically recommend them to anyone looking for optometry care in Vancouver.

Highly recommend this optometrist! I was able to get an appointment right away after moving to the city and was really impressed. The location is fantastic, the staff were friendly and helpful, and Dr. Flak was super knowledgeable and had great recommendations for contact lenses. Looking forward to going back!

I have been going to Ottico for over 25 years. My eye doctor, Dr. Brad McDougall is thorough and kind. He takes the time to explain to you about why his outrageously high tech equipment is necessary to track the changes in your eyes and watches for abnormal changes that might indicate health problems a brewin' (so going to the same place for decades is a bonus folks). Of course, my prescriptions are always perfect too. Many of the people who work here have been there as long as I have been a patient - that says a lot about their depth of knowledge and how awesome the eye doctors are. I recently bought a new pair of glasses and mentioned that I had trouble going downstairs with them. Soraya quickly determined the problem, adjusted my glasses, and I was good to go! Thank you wonderful people of Ottico.

All the staff are friendly, responsive and helpful. Dr. McDougall conducts very thorough exams. I've had a few eye issues over the years and he continues to thoroughly check and monitor. I've been going here for many years and highly recommend them.

Staff were very friendly as a whole. Dr. Vanessa Flak was fantastic. She was professional and very knowledgeable.

I came here from another country, so I was very worried if I would get treated the same. But I was treated so well and would a hundred percent come back! The doctor and staff are so kind and very helpful! 6/5 stars!

I have had the best experience here since switching eye doctors several years ago. Dr McDougall is proactive and goes above and beyond to treat you and your eyes, and balances that with what you want. His calm demeanour and extensive knowledge is reassuring and you know he will work with you until you have a solution.

The rest of the staff is also wonderful and clearly cares about their patients from start to finish. I highly recommend Dr McDougall, and even more so if you have something outside of the ordinary and can't get answers elsewhere.

10/10 experience, from the last minute emergency eye exam to the follow up appointment. The staff are extremely professional and welcoming.

I haven't had my eyed checked in years, and started experiencing pain and headaches from working in front of computer screens all day.

I booked an appointment, and was brought in next day! It hasn't even been a week, and I am already noticing a huge change at work with my new glasses.

Dr. Flak was absolutely the best. She spent the time needed with me, and it didn't feel rushed. It was great to hear that my distance vision was perfect, but she was able to identify my focus vision and explain it thoroughly to me. I was comfortable and really appreciated her time.

I absolutely love Vancouver Block Optometrists! Not only do they have an extremely convenient location (literally steps from the Vancouver City Center Skytrain station), but all the staff are absolutely wonderful.
Dr. Flak is an AMAZING optometrist, she's kind, charming, sincere, and helpful, with a fantastic sense of humor. Jody was such an amazing help to me to find frames that nicely fit my face and style, while being extremely patient while I tried on almost every pair in the store.

I received SUCH exceptional care from Dr. McDougall and the whole team at Vancouver Block Optometrist throughout a challenging time for me. I scratched my cornea 6 years ago and continued to experience excruciating episodes of eye pain at random times in the night. I was told by an ophthalmologist basically "aw too bad, looks like you have a scratched eye now forever. Use lots of drops. " I had a previous Optometrist who didn't think much of it. Finally when the painful episodes seemed to be getting worse and more frequent (to the point I was anxious about going to sleep at night), I saw Dr. McDougall in the fall of 2018 for a vision exam and mentioned my woes with my scratched eye. To my shock and delight he had several ideas for treatment! Fast forward several months and I've since had successful PTK (Laser treatment) to the surface of my eye which completely healed the damaged area.

Dr. McDougall is knowledgable, friendly, and beyond generous. He truly goes above and beyond for his patients and shows genuine concern for their wellbeing. Not only did he treat me for my scratched cornea but he sorted out my rather unusual prescription. I had never been satisfied with my previous lenses from my former Optometrist - turns out the prescription was wrong. My new lenses are awesome - perfect clarity!

I had an amazing experience at the Vancouver Block Optometrist. I was looked after by Dr. Flak who conducted a very thorough examination. I have never had so many different test done at the optometrist- they really take excellent care of their customers. Dr. Flak took a lot of time to explain the test results & gave me a lot excellent advice. I am recommending this office to everyone I know!

I felt very well taken care of at Vancouver Block. Dr. Flak did my eye exam and was very thorough, and efficient with my exam. I'm really happy with my new contacts and new glasses she prescribed.
Jody, Coleen and Anita (of Ottico, the Optical side) were very helpful in helping me pick frames. They have a great selection of quality brands.plus an incredible view of Granville Street! They even sent in the tags of my contact lens so that I could get a rebate! How nice is that!? !

It's a beautiful clinic and optical store, the staff are awesome, the pricing is really good, location is incredible (right across from Vancouver Center Skytrain). And best of all, support local business!

I have been going here for a few years, as do many of my friends. Doctors are thorough and staff helpful. See Optician Jody for help selecting your frames and lenses. He knows his stuff. I just picked up my first pair of transitions, that are also progressive and I love, love them.

You don’t necessarily expect to find hip designer frames at a Doc’s office but this optometrist clinic has amazing brands. The woman named Anita just looks at you and knows what will flatter your face. Good prices too, my Oliver Peoples were a bit less here.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Went in for a quick adjustment on my glasses. It seemed the lady did not know what she was doing because every time she made 'adjustments' my glasses were exactly the same as before. This attempted happened about 4 times before I gave up due to frustration. She then CHARGED me $5 (which she didn't mention before) for 5 minutes of her free time. This was the first time I've ever been charged for something like this as everywhere else I've been to have been complimentary. Took my chances here as it is close to my work and the reviews were good, but take it from me, they are NOT good.
