I highly recommend this school, and especially my instructor Thomas! He is very knowledgeable, patient, and funny! I got my "N" after the first try and 13 lessons. Prior to my experience with VDS, I had failed one driving (road) test. But then I started my 5 driving lesson sessions with Shah, and that really improved not just my driving skills, but also bettered my whole perception of driving. Shah is amazing in one word. You will certainly pass your road test if you listen to his instructions and keep your focus while driving.

Gang was my instructor, he was really thorough and a great person.and passed my road test first time round! Excellent service!

What I really liked about him was that he wanted to make sure I drive safe and see the hazards rather than just focusing on passing the road test.
I think the school scheduling system has to be improved a little bit though.

Highly recommend instructor Ashraf. He is knowledgeable, patient and supportive during the training. Instructions are clear and constructive. You will pick up some tips which will make your driving more confident and effortless.
The car you drive makes the difference as well. With Ashraf you drive new hybrid Toyota, which is smooth and easy to operate.
The school administration is doing its best to accommodate your schedule and organize your training. They proved to be responsive and showed thoughtful customer service.

I am 29 years old and wanted to learn to learn to drive so that I can get to further places without relying on transit. I found VDS through Google, and am glad I went with them.

The most important thing is that I passed my N test.

Shafi was very helpful. He went at a good pace, and once he felt that I was comfortable driving, he asked me what I wanted to practice, and we did that as long as I needed to. He pointed out all the right things that were helpful for the test.

I had about 20 hours of experience with my dad's car before I signed up. I wanted to get formal qualified tips, not just my dad yelling at me. With some basic driving experience, I found 5 hours + 1 refresher course to be enough.

If I did not have any driving experience before, I think anywhere from 10-15 lessons should be enough to feel very comfortable driving. Of course, this may depend on the person.

I just passed my road test after an hour review with Ashraf! He was so patient, through and informative, I honestly learned a lot (about the road rules specific to Burnaby, and specific to the road test) that I didn't know from my prior driving lessons. Also the car was very nice, crisp handling/braking and didn't slide on hills.

Based on my experience I would recommend this driving school for sure.

I used VDS for both my N license and full license, Shah was a great teacher for both tests and I passed first time for both, couldn't have done it without him. Would highly recommend.

I had 6 lessons with Ashraf and he was great! He was very patient and always on time for our lesson. I felt more than ready for the exam, I even had an hour lesson before my exam to nail down any last minute details that I needed to perfect, well worth the money and I have already recommended them to my friends

I had the best possible experience learning to drive smart and safely with Thomas at Vancouver Driving School. There are great drivers and there are great teachers and Thomas is definitely both. He is not just knowledgeable about what to expect on a driving test, but he knows how to teach you to be a safe and defensive driver. I can't express how great Vancouver Driving School has been! From the scheduling staff to my driving instructor Thomas, this service was everything that I needed and more. In had 10 classes with Thomas and today I can say that I successfully passed my N test! I have (had) long standing driving anxiety, but Thomas was patient and clear. Surprisingly, my anxiety only came up in snippets and I was able to contain it enough to absorb everything that was required.

I had 10 lessons with Gang and passed my N test on the first try! He is an amazing instructor and I am really grateful that I learned from him. I had some previous learner driving experience in a different country and he helped me understand the rules here in BC - with his guidance I felt comfortable on the road very quickly. His techniques are simple and 100% effective. He is calm, kind and encouraging, and taught me valuable skills to keep myself and others safe on the road. I was very nervous to take my test and his reassurance made me feel confident that I had the skills to pass. He also managed to keep me calm right before my test which meant I could think clearly by the time it began. Thank you so much Gang! I would recommend him to anyone and look forward to lessons with him again in the future for my class 5!

Tom was an amazing teacher, super patient. He taught me every I needed to know to pass my test first time around. Definitely recommend!

Other than some scheduling issues to get started with the first set of lessons, I had a good experience with Vancouver Driving School. I passed my class 5 road test on the first try. I had an Indian license that allowed me to go straight to Class 5 but had no driving experience. Ashraf was patient and helped me through my lessons to focus on driving and being a good driver rather than focusing on just passing the test.

I also had Thomas for one lesson who is also a very nice instructor. I am giving 4 stars because of the scheduling issues and a very unpleasant experience I had with an instructor that I was assigned for my very first lesson. He was very condescending and rude as well as discouraging. I am glad I didn't have to train with him again.

Vancouver Driving School is the best place for those who want to get the most accurate instructions on driving for the road test. My instructor was excellent. No matter how many mistakes you make, he guides and teaches you calmly and patiently how to drive safely and fit your driving style to the road test requirements.

Shafi and Ashraf are really good instructors! Helped me a lot to pass my road test. They covered everything that needs to be covered. Everyone here in Vancouver Driving School are very nice, from their office admin Aeiman and the instructors.
