A knowledgeable instructor should have an in-depth understanding of first aid topics, regulatory standards, first aid skills, and some understanding of health care. They should be confident in their skills and knowledge. They should clearly understand their course components and that’s exactly how I felt about Dave. I appreciate his sense of humour,
providing relevant examples to make the course enjoyable and informative at the same time. The classroom was organized, neat and tidy as I walked in. I would definitely recommend my friends (in health care profession) and family member who want to have first aid, CPR course in future.

Kyle is a great instructor, the course was very well taught and easy to understand. The class has lots of hand on activities which gives you the opportunity to practice what you learned.

Kyle is an awesome instructor. I have taken different forms of first aids multiple times (OFA1, OFA2 and CPR-C) previously and Kyle still taught me something that I didn't know. Very knowledgeable and friendly.

Completed a Standard First Aid and CPR course with Connor, and he was amazing! Very knowledgeable and a great instructor. Brought a level of passion to teaching first aid as well, which was refreshing and made learning the content that much more engaging. Would recommend a course with Connor to everyone and anyone.

Connor of VANCOUVER FIRST AID LTD was very knowledgable and to the point. You could guarantee Connor was on track with curriculum and could answer any question you'd had. He checked in to assure the information he taught made sense and he corrected mistakes you may have made while practicing hands on scenarios.

Mark was a great teacher and provided information in an easy to understand and helpful manner. He was humorous, but still took the class seriously. Great demonstrator and you should give home a raise. I haven’t been paid to say this, but I did get a keychain.

**ADDED after owners response** I want to clarify that I never demanded my baby and father be allowed in the classroom, that is a lie. I would never expect such treatment, it wouldn’t be fair to the others in the course, the instructor and or especially my baby.
I simply asked if there was an area in the building outside of the room where they could be accessible due to nursing requirements. Mel could have communicated that the building was not conducive for that, which is why I was upset- because my baby and 70 yr old father had to walk circles outside the building in the freezing cold rain for five hours, and that was not safe. Nor did I embody any such abusive behaviour to anyone- another lie. I’ll reiterate that Mel was the one who raised her voice, did not demonstrate any form of composure when dealing with a disappointed and confused customer, hung up on me and refused over and over again to let me speak to a manager. I am confident that the instructor Kyle would agree that I never demanded this. The only reason I registered in the wrong course was Mel sent me the link for A when I requested it be for C, I have this in writing too. The evening before the course I noticed it was for A not C and reached out immediately, they told me to request I be upgraded to C in the morning to the instructor, which I did. I was still sent away with a certificate in A. I could go on here but won’t.
The owners response is not shocking and just further evidence of the “quality” of this company. I have nothing else to say here. I have wasted enough energy with this and you’re clearly not a company that can, or cares to, receive feedback, not to mention one who is okay letting such people represent you. My hopes and aspirations here for you all is that no other customer experiences this level of disorganization and unprofessionalism again- that is my reason for speaking up and that is all.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Do not expect professionalism or adequate support from the office staff. In particularly from Mel- I have never dealt with someone who lacks such customer service and basic human decency or care.
Since my experience at the Vancouver Kingsway location this past Monday I have needed to speak to someone on the management team and Mel refused to connect me with them. She even went as far as hanging up on me, and then worse blocking me. I needed to talk to a manager because I was sent away with a certificate stating completion in the wrong level and now because of the way Mel was treating me, the customer….
Mels lack of professional communication and her distasteful response to customer feedback and frustration began during our very first interaction and I now wish I had listened to my gut which told me to obtain certification elsewhere. Mel clearly did not hear and or comprehend my unique situation and clarifying questions which were very valid before I was able or willing to commit to taking this course, and that became very evident upon our arrival to the building that morning.

I will reiterate out of frustration that I have emailed and called this company every day this week only to be hung up on, blocked and treated with a real lack of customer service- her way of “dealing” with one of their customers is to over-talk and dismiss them. And this is one of the handful of reasons that I need to talk to someone higher up there, someone who might actually embody customer service and professionalism.

The instructor Kyle, albeit had told me given my unique circumstances that he could get me out of there at lunch time (otherwise we…would have never stayed given the conditions and environment) was however fantastic, very knowledgeable, articulate and passionate.

** The location itself is a dive, a proper hole in the wall FYI **

Great. Conner presented the information in a visual, straightforward way that helped me remember everything. He gave the content the seriousness it needed with no alarm, intimidation or excessive details that derailed learning. (The last place I took it had us refolding the bandages again and again.).

I had my training last week (two days) with Connor as my instructor. It was easy to understand him. He has great communication skills and over all I really enjoyed the course! Thanks Connor.

Absolutely amazing Connor was probably the greatest instructor I've ever had. I've been getting CPR training for about 6 years and his session stood out to me the most. He was engaged, I wasn't falling asleep in his class. He was concise, captivating, and meticulous. I like that he makes sure that we did every single step, including the little things that people tend to overlook. He taught his class in a way that was easy to understand and I feel extremely confident in case I were to ever come across an emergency. Finally, he teaches you how to manage and take lead in emergency situations. I haven't had anyone do that and it is an extremely important skill. I would recommend Connor to anyone whether you have medical background or not.
