Had a fantastic experience at the Vancouver Maritime Museum! The RCMP ship, with its century-old history, sounds like a fascinating highlight. It's wonderful to know that the museum offers such an enriching experience for both children and adults, providing insights into the history of the RCMP Maritime and various aspects of maritime heritage.give it a try to discover the treasures it holds. It's indeed a must-see for those interested in maritime history and the unique stories behind these historic vessels.

Unfortunately the other museum was closed, this was a nice replacement. Especially because they could walk around and explore on the old ship!

We didn't have any expectations of this museum, but we're surprised to find it is excellent! We loved the guided tour of the st. Roche RCMP ketch, the commentary really brought the reality of artic duty to life. The rum smuggling exhibit fascinating. The amazing models of steam ships so exact and charming. So glad we chose to visit.

What a beautiful museum! Our 2 and 4 year old kids greatly enjoyed the exhibitions and seeing pieces of history. Would love to come back again next time.

We went for the family day promotion where admission was free for all. We got there shortly after they opened and the parking lot was already packed (their parking lot is quite small to begin with). However, we were able to find street parking a few blocks away. As it was a public holiday, the place was packed. We've been here a few times before but when the children's play area was under renovation. We were pleasantly surprised that the play area was open and it was definitely the highlight. There are a ton of hands-on independent play activities including dress up, building blocks, and stuffed puppet animals, to name a few. One part of our visit that was quite uncomfortable was a professional photographer who was actively taking photos of kids. Originally I thought they were a parent, until I saw that they were taking photos of every kid in the space. I may have missed a notice saying that photos would be taken on this day but I know many folks who would have an issue with this as not all parents/guardians will give consent to people taking photos of their child. In the gallery room, I believe to celebrate family day, they provided some complimentary snacks. It would have been nice to have had some labels to identify all of the foods for those with dietary restrictions or allergies. The only thing I recognized was bannock. It would have also been nice to know where each of the food was catered from. We were only able to stay for about 45 minutes but overall, we had a good time. By the time we left, there was a line outside that went all the way to the parking lot, probably due to the free admission.

This was one of my favourite places on Earth as a kid. I can't tell you how excited I was to go with my grandma (repeatedly). If I had kids in my circle now, or visitors from out of town, I would take them without hesitation. Support Vancouver museums!

I always enjoy going by there every once in a while to check out Heritage Harbour and see what Exhibits are on. I have especially enjoyed their Pirates & Ship Wreck Exhibitions of the Past.

Unfortunately, access to the St. Roche is no longer as Open as it once was. Many parts of the Ship are now shut down from being able to go and see.

I visited the Vancouver Maritime Museum with my family and it was our second time there. We had a wonderful experience once again! The RCMP ship on display is incredibly well-preserved and it's amazing to see how well the ship has been maintained over the years. But what really stood out to us was the kid's playground. It's been recently renovated and it's incredibly family-friendly, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Our child had a blast playing there and it was a great way to break up the museum visit for them. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. We were fortunate enough to attend a family event on Family Day and the free cookies and drinks were a nice touch. Our child loved them! We highly recommend the Vancouver Maritime Museum for anyone looking for a fun and educational day out with the family.

After 12 years in Vancouver, finally came here to check it out. Pretty interesting for kids as well. My 6 year old boy was very exited to check real 100 years old ship from inside. Its not big museums, but where else you can see 100 year old ship and go on board?

It was so much fun. A lot of information had taken us a little over an hour to walk through it all. Even had a large vessel indoors that you could walk on and through. The price value is well worth the museum. I am not from Vancouver but I will return.
