Stayed here the week before Christmas with friends to have proximity to the Christmas market and all things walkable. The 3 night stay was quite nice until we went to leave and receive our vehicle back from valet. They brought it to the turnaround and didn't say a word about the reddish brown paint on the driver side window. We immediately noticed and asked about this, while simultaneously realizing the paint would not come off and that the window was actually etched with several scrapes impairing use of the window. It was impossible to imagine what caused this as the door itself was undamaged. In follow up communications the hotel suggested that a valet sign stand had fallen into the driver side window while the car was in their care. The hotel referred us to their state mandated insurance (ICBC) but insurance refused coverage. Meanwhile we obtained estimates that it will cost around $300 US to replace the driver side window and make us whole. This is below most deductibles anyway and extremely straightforward. We took this back to Marriott and asked them to pay it directly to the glass shop which they refuse to do despite admitting that this happened on their watch. We hold out hope that other Canadian Marriott’s have better customer service for their Marriott rewards members, but sadly are unable to ever stay at this one again.

Our stay at Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown was nothing short of extraordinary. The staff's warm welcome set the tone for a delightful experience. Our room with a breathtaking harbor view was a highlight, creating a picturesque backdrop for our stay.

A special mention goes to the wait staff at the Showcase restaurant, where Dewayne went above and beyond to ensure our meal was not only delicious but also a memorable experience. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor truly enhanced our stay. Kudos to the entire team for making our time at Marriott Pinnacle Downtown unforgettable. We look forward to returning and enjoying the exceptional hospitality once again.

My husband and I had a wonderful 4 night stay. Great service from front desk agent Shweta who really made us feel welcome and gave us some helpful hints. The concierge agent Verinda helped us save by offering us a better deal on a tour than we found online.very grateful for her. They have really done a great job of decorating for the holidays.the lounge had a good Happy Hour.the poutine was very good and we loved the presentation.
22 November 2023 8:01
Room was clean and cozy. Central to many restaurants and a quick walk to waterfront. Front desk staff was very warm, pleasant and welcoming. Always had smiles on their faces. Check-in was quick and smooth and room was ready to go! I will definitely be staying here again

Philip provided great service, very pleasant, efficient, and polite to deal with, highly recommended. Thank you again!
11 August 2023 14:13
Beds are too small. We were 3 in the room so we had to share one of the full size beds. SERVICE is A+. We must mention Benjamin he was so helpful and kind. He made our stay even better. By the way LOCATION is great

Covid restrictions were stifling and somewhat contradictory. Great location. Hope to try again when more realistic/normal.
27 December 2021 7:02
Had a great view of the bay with comfortable room and great guest service. Conveniently located in the center of all things Vancouver.
25 December 2021 22:06
Lovely atmosphere & experience, also very friendly and helpful staff! Will definitely be coming back!
21 December 2021 9:57
Truly the best location you can ask for. Everyone who works here is super friendly and helpful.

Will never stay at Marriott again after this disaster of a stay. Thankfully Vancouver offered so much more than this hotel ever could. Check in was a disaster and we never did end up getting any confirmation via email. Once we did check in we got into our room and there were dried pee stains on our toilet, the room was incredibly dated with marks all over the furniture and walls and surfaces were not wiped (especially near where you lay your pillow). In addition, our room cards didn’t work to get in the room when we first tried, and all in all we had to have them exchanged three times. When we notified the front desk about our room they sent up the manager of housekeeping who verified the room was not to standard, and we were convinced to stay because we would get a new room and dinner at the restaurant. Well, we accepted, and ended up waiting 45 mins to get into another room, missing our daughters scheduled pool visit which meant going down to get more pool cards and putting back our dinner reservation. We sat there and waited with a dog and all of our belongings while they cleaned a new room “to standard”. Well, we never did get a restaurant voucher, bottle of wine, or even an apology from the actual manger (whom they told us wasn’t in). Before we left, we got into our elevator on the 30th floor, only for ALL the lights to turn off and no buttons working. Fortunately the button to open the door worked and we used our phones to see it. Honestly, WORST experience we have ever had. Will never stay at a Marriott again.
09 December 2021 7:50
Great location and clean. The only drawback is the room gets hot at night. I think they have the ac turned off and only the fans going which isnt smart for a big building. Im sure they are putting costs above guest comfort.
01 December 2021 9:32
Absolutely incredible from check in, to room cleanliness attentive staff and the "Marriott experience". I remember why I choose Marriott when I travel. It costs a little more but you get more.

I paid for the breakfasts while staying here and they were incredible. I also had the pleasure of dining with Dwayne in the restaurant for several mornings. He absolutely made my mornings and he is a hard worker. He makes everyone's day better and always has a nice word. Make sure to find out if he's working when you visit and ask for him! ️.

I had a city view and the room was cozy and the bed was comfortable. Zero complaints from this property and when I come back I will stay here and get the water view next time:)

The hotel is conveniently located to everything so that you can walk everywhere. I loved being so close to the harbor.

Thank you Marriott for your hospitality and making this guest feel welcomed and appreciated.
28 November 2021 16:50
Disappointed. I’m a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, but there was nothing good about this hotel except its location. The overall feel is extremely outdated from the lobby to the rooms to the parking. Lingering smell in the floors. What adds insult to injury is how discourteous and careless the staff were. Sadly, my worst experience at a Marriott ever. Will definitely try another place next time I go to Vancouver.
22 November 2021 10:18
Beautiful hotel and area. I took a cab to Granville Island. It was a cute little Island with lots of shops and very Unique. All their own brand which I loved.
No need for a Starbucks or Dunkin.
16 November 2021 7:35
Stopped for a light lunch in way back to hotel from Stanley Park. Had a black forest ham sandwich which was week prepared and very tasty. Scones were very good.
09 November 2021 6:12
Location is good, everything else is basic, especially the rooms. Expected more from a Marriott.
06 November 2021 22:07
Not very friendly or helpful, snotty attitude from most staff and over all definitely put a negative spin on our stay
14 October 2021 22:12
Nah. For a Marriott, I was underwhelmed to almost disappointed. Lobby and location 100% beautiful. However get to the room, I’m now on a vacation with my parents in 1997. Old school hotel room complete with carpet pattern. Thankfully it didn’t smell like a hotel from ‘97.

Pool/hot tub was…well wow. Completely indoors so it’ll probably be echoey but no one (guests) gave a f- about covid rules. Left after 10 min due to the noise and just general unease.

Breakfast was good and the server was great!
01 October 2021 5:08
Wouldn’t say this is a 4star hotel. 3star at best. Our room seemed as if it hadn’t been cleaned as our sheets smelled like body odour. We called and asked to be moved rooms and the front desk was very kind to move us immediately. The next room was better but still didn’t seem clean. Our phone was full of dust and shower grout was dirty. Would never stay here again. Given it’s COVID I’d expect the sanitizing protocols to be exceptional but clearly subpar
16 September 2021 16:39
Great location, but the hotel rooms are very dated. Would be nice to have Netflix instead of basic cable. They also charge $8 day for wifi, which seems crazy when you're spending almost $300 night for a basic room.
12 September 2021 17:59
We had a wonderful stay at the Marriot Pinnacle on West Hastings. Staff were extremely professional, courteous and extremely prompt at responding to our needs. Carlos and Yvonne stood out in particular but all staff we encountered were lovely. Room was spacious and clean. Comfortable beds, well appointed and maintained bathroom. Showcasebar downstairs has a great happy hour from4 to 6 pm and 8 to 10 pm. Would definitely come back in the future!
08 September 2021 2:05
Over priced with hidden fees. When asked about it were rudely dismissed. Will not room here again.
14 August 2021 12:50
Well equipped hotel in Vancouver downtown. An updated entertainment setup with Netflix app in a modern tv would have been nicer.
12 August 2021 0:21
Excellent service. The Marriott is the best! The restaurant in this hotel is amazing for breakfast, lunch and dinner too! This hotel is close to everything Vancouver has to offer. Enjoy!
07 August 2021 17:19
Such a great hotel. We checked into Pinnacle last week to dodge the excruciating heat dome. The front desk staff were very friendly. Our hotel room was stunning with a harbour view. Housekeeping could be a little better, but my guess is due to the pandemic, they were short staffed and weren't prepared for the swarm of local visitors due to the heat wave. Parking is a little steep at $38/night, but it came with the territory (downtown parking after all), and you do enjoy unlimited in/out privilege. We were really impressed that we have planned on our next 'staycation' here already.
01 August 2021 11:26
This hotel is the worst hotel in Vancouver. I've been to about 6 hotels in the greater Vancouver area and by far this one is at the bottom. Terrible hospitality the toilet didn't work properly and they didn't wanna change are room unless we paid more money. Book pinnacle Marriott at your own risk.
12 July 2021 1:06
I enjoyed my stay here, the room was very spacious and bright, I was surrounded by windows, and the bed was very comfortable.
The only downside was having to evacuate the building at midnight and the guest that stayed in the room before me had an alarm set for 6: 00 am on the clock, so I didn't get proper sleep.
Hopefully next time I stay, there won't be any problems!

This is an inaccurate summation of events.

First off, you have hosted us before. It was an average stay.

Hotwire was more than willing to honour the cancellation and refund my money on their end. We only hit a snag when your front desk personnel denied the Hotwire employee representing my case, so please do not try to shift blame to Hotwire.

I ended up getting a cancelation from Hotwire, which your staff so fervently said was not possible. I only had to pay $20 for the cancellation, which I consider a gift if it means I don’t have to spend another night at your hotel.

I will continue my bookings with Hotwire, but I will be avoiding Marriott Pinnacle at all costs.

I had a two-day stay at this property in May 2021. I was so impressed with my stay at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle. The room was gorgeous, with nearly the entire room having floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering fantastic views of downtown Vancouver. I was in a king-size upper floor room and it was easily the biggest hotel room I have stayed in while visiting Vancouver. The pool and hot tub were open, guests are allowed a 1-hour booking each day. The location is just steps away from the scenic Coal Harbour and about a 15 minute to the Skytrain. I very much recommend this hotel!
13 June 2021 0:40
Very comfortable hotel in the downtown area of Vancouver. Breakfast is truly outstanding with exceptional friendly and professional service by our waiter Dwayne! Eggs Benedict were there best I've had for a long time!
05 May 2021 1:47
Always a great experience staying at this hotel, from the convenient location to the food quality. Not to mention their complimentary guest parking. Maybe just one suggestion, their breakfast portions could be a bit more, considering their menu price is pretty high. Other than that, you just can’t go wrong staying here.
06 April 2021 16:03
This hotel was beyond amazing! My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary and we will for sure be coming back soon. Everything from the rooms to the service were beyond my expectations and we couldn’t have been happier. The pool was also a really nice touch and all of their covid protocols for it were great. I highly suggest booking here if you’re looking for a hotel in Vancouver.
13 March 2021 4:42
This “hotel” is more like a motel. The decor is difficult on the eyes. The tv is old with no streaming capability, no USB ports, paper thin walls and extremely loud heating unit. No elite appreciation here either. So much for Marriott brand standards. This hotel operations team clearly doesn’t care to follow them. There are so many other better Marriott options in this city. I won’t stay here again. Please for your sake, go elsewhere!
11 February 2019 18:28
Extremely conveniently located near downtown Vancouver. The front desk gives you free water bottles if you ask, which was really nice. We got a standard room and it was nothing too fancy, but did the job. The TV wasn't the greatest. There is a nice view of the city from the window though. Overall a pretty good experience.
10 February 2019 13:41
Love this hotel. It has it all; harbour views, comfortable beds, walking distance to good shopping, the harbour, drugstore, coffee shops, the sky train, Rogers place. Great food at the restaurant on site. Indoor pool sauna hottub. Tops off with amazing staff and service.
07 February 2019 4:55
Great place to stay in downtown Vancouver. There are great restaurants nearby and shopping a few blocks away. There is a gym and pool at the location if you're feeling energetic; or a spa, if you feel like taking it easy. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
05 February 2019 16:51
Absolutely amazing stay. The M-Club Lounge and concierge attendent, Cathy (I think that was her name) was absolutely amazing our whole stay! All of her recommendations were phenomenal and she made great and interesting conversation with us. The woman who checked us in and out was also fabulous, though I unfortunately cannot remember her name. I never received the email to do the official gss survey, but we did enjoy our whole stay!
01 February 2019 19:07
I like the fact they are close to restaurants and have a decent gym to work out in. The restaurants are nice and the price is definitely very reasonable. I travel quite a bit to Vancouver from the states and I feel that this is definitely one of the friendliest staff's I have encountered and they are always happy to see me even though I am a cheap tipper. Thanks for the hospitality!
18 January 2019 19:07
Great stay. Good service. Excellent location in Vancouver. Even better - they use duvet covers. Not just two sheets thrown on the top and bottom of the duvet so you are forced not to move when you sleep to avoid touching the duvet. Legit the highlight of my trip was knowing there was a duvet cover at the hotel when I got back to the room! Thanks for the great stay!
16 January 2019 13:58
First time trying this hotel. Decent experience. Didn't spend much time at the hotel. Wouldn't say the location is excellent as it's bit of a walk to anywhere, but still decently convenient. Staff seemed friendly. As platinum premier was only upgraded to high floor, couldn't even get harbour view so that was quite disappointing. The lounge had very nice views.
13 January 2019 17:49
Rooms are spacious and high quality. They have a nice view to the city and to the mountains also. Hotel lobby is nice and comfortable. The shower is a bit small but they also have a separate bathtub. Rooms are filled with power outlets everywhere and standard WiFi is decent. Front desk guys are kind and the check-in checkout process is incredibly fast. Location is very good, right in the center and just a few blocks away from main streets of Vancouver. Breakfast restaurant is expensive but has nice options.
09 January 2019 20:35
The best happy hour menu hands down. Amazing service with s smile and not at all a loud venue. Wonderful atmosphere and here i prefer to sit right at the window somewhat nestled away. Does get busy here so be on time for the happiest hour.
03 January 2019 22:37
Before getting a room make sure to check Priceline. The guy at the front desk told us it was $230 a night, when on Priceline it was going for $89 a night. Beyond this, parking is extremely expensive. To park at the hotel was $40 a night, but if you’re able to park just at night, street parking is free from 10pm to 9am. During the day if you want to run up to your room real quick to change, drop stuff off, or pick someone up/drop someone off & there are no spots available on the street, it would be nice to be able to park in the hotel spots for longer than 10 minutes without getting rudely confronted by the bell man. They say you can park for a short period of time in order to run up to your room, but if you aren’t quick enough they will rudely confront you in the hotel lobby. Other than the abrasive staff, the hotel is nice & in a nice location.
03 January 2019 22:16
Hotel is on a nice location, situated perfectly for those working downtown and on the West End or just visiting. The hotel has a decent restaurant/bar in the lobby. It also has good fitness options with a pool, coed steam room and sauna, and well equipped (albeit older) gym. The room was standard size with a separate shower and tub. Design is older and dated but functional. Views were nice.
25 December 2018 20:10
Nice resort, downtown and conveniently located within walking distance to multiple tourist type of activities. All the rooms here have umbrellas in the room, which was very useful, given the weather in Vancouver. The hotel is connected to a gift shop as well, allowing for a quick souvenir run if you need to get a gift for someone back home.
24 December 2018 15:50
I visit Van 4-5 times per year for both work and pleasure. The location of the Pinnacle is very convenient, the staff is friendly, the facilities are clean and comfortable, and I normally avoid hotel restaurants & bars - this hotel has a great place to eat or have a drink. Finally, their Members Lounge and work facilities are fantastic.
23 December 2018 10:36
Good central location to Vancouver. A Marriott team member, Marshall was attentive and made sure our stay at the Pinnacle was memorable and comfortable.
10 December 2018 6:32
Staff was very friendly, the location was pretty good, right in the middle of downtown. Easy to walk to great restaurants and pubs.

The lobby had a very distinct smell to it, like they went overboard on some deodorizer/cleaner.it made me very nautious being down there.

The room we had hasn't been updated in a while. Everything was functional, however, the bathroom had paint peeling on the ceiling of the bathroom and the shower seemed very old. I would expert a more modern updated room without any noticable defects for a hotel of this nature with $300+ rates.

The view was great. The cleaners we're great.

Overall a good stay.
09 December 2018 22:58
Felt well cared for. Was addressed by name each time i ordered room service (which arrived promptly). The food and service was very good.

I would definitely stay here again.
26 November 2018 12:14
Beautiful hotel, great food, not so great service. We have huge work events here once or twice a year. There is always some mix up with the room fee being charged to the wrong account. There was a big technical problem with the sound system this time as well. Lastly, some of the dinner staff were very rude and looked incredibly stressed. I understand big events are a lot of work and sometimes problems arise, but good customer service means remaining professional at all times and extending apologies when they are due.
31 October 2018 22:53
Attended for a conference in the Pinnacle Conference room. The staff was friendly and courteous. Lunch was good and drinks, including coffee, smoothies, and water, were available all day.
28 October 2018 10:10
The BEST hotel to stay in if you're visiting Vancouver. Gorgeous view of the waterfront and beautiful sunsets. We lived on the 30th floor and would love seeing the sun set and wake up to a beautiful morning for the long weekend. Staff is very courteous. The hotel has most tourist attractions at a radius of 0.5 miles. We loved staying here.
13 October 2018 21:57
Beds are comfortable. Rooms are clean. The bathroom amenities are good products. The towels are decent and plentiful. Staff seem pleasant. The lady who cleans rooms on our floor had a big, genuine smile. She made polite conversation. This hotel is downtown so prices for breakfast start at 24.00 but there are other businesses close at hand to pick up food items. Urban Fare does a great breakfast. Plus they have a modest grocery Dept.
We have stayed at the Fairmount but I much prefer this location.

Update:
Having stayed in room 2408 for eight nights, we find it's not as pleasant a room to be placed, as we'd initially thought.

1) The housekeeping supply room is next to this room in the hallway, so you'll hear its door opening/closing all morning until after ~1: 30 pm. Good thing we get up early for breakfast in the 25th floor executive lounge (which you can access by walking up one flight of stairs from the nearby emergency exit stairwell).

2) The in-room mini fridge froze most of our fruits and salad, as there's no thermometer switch to control the coldness.

Initial review after first night:
Great view of the harbour from the hotel's 25th floor executive lounge makes for a nice way to dine during breakfast. As vegans, we appreciated the fresh cut-fruits, plain cooked-oats and multi-grain toasts (with peanut butter and sliced bananas = delish), too.

We were pleasantly surprised by the mini fridge in our concierge-level room, as it wasn't listed in the hotel's amenities (had bought and brought a thermoelectric, tiny fridge thinking this was the only hotel we stayed in to not provide a fridge). Our room's floor-to-ceiling city view was interesting, but the harbour view would've offered more privacy from the nearby office buildings.
15 September 2018 9:14
Great meals created by the culinary team in the kitchen, always a new item on the menu to try. Have only been for a small meal once, but would love to go back again:)
04 September 2018 19:16
The location is great but for $450 a night I would have expected a bigger room with nicer amenities. Honestly the interior of the rooms looks pretty dated. Parking is a nightmare also but that's pretty much the case all downtown.
