The staff were very helpful and somehow knew I was there for the MENSA meeting and immediately directed me to the basement where it was being held

Of the VPL branches I've used this is far and away the most squalid.

Always crowded and noisy. No quiet study area. Parking is a gong show.

Good luck getting anywhere near an electrical outlet if you're hoping to use a laptop.

Not a whole lot of books in the stacks as libraries go.

The neighbourhood has outgrown this undersized rundown facility.

The staff are very helpful and friendly to everyone. There are many computers for people to use. I understand at the front of the library in the young children's area is it is noisy. But the whole library is noisy I found this 10 years ago but thought I would try it again. The quiet reading area by the magazines and by the laptop area should be a place for quiet reflection, thinking, reading and study. But many people treat these areas like a coffee shop and loudly whisper. Which disturbs other people's peace and inner reflection.some folks just are not honoring the needs of others, when a person respects their own needs they are more of other's needs Libraries are meant to be quiet places. The staff need set firm boundaries around quiet levels in the quiet study areas ie.put up signage.

I go to the Coquitlam Poirier branch for quiet study as this library has two quiet areas in which the librarians are very firm that no whispering or talking of any kind is to occur here as these are areas for quiet reflection and study. Lots of students and professionals or folks just trying to quietly read I notice sit in these areas. There are signs in these areas firmly expressing people must be quiet in these rooms. Kits library needs to set a similar tone in the quiet areas of the library. Currently it is like a community center or coffee shop not a library.

Bryce was awesome with getting my VPL card reactivated & upgraded to full access. I guess I only asked for internet access when I first opened my account many years ago at the central branch downtown.

He also made me aware of all the free digital resources now available to me by simply having a library card. Pretty cool. Thx.
