Vancouver Public Library, Hastings Branch (Open with Limited Services)

Be careful with junkies in the library, this guy grab my umbrella from the computer desk I just walk to the printer and back, be aware and don’t leave things unattended.

I went to print and scan some documents and the staff was so helpful and kind. Great job. Thank you

For a VPL location this one is really small. I think it's a good place to spend a few hours with a good book for adults. The kids book selection leans to sub 11-12 as there are a lot more picture and first reader type books here.

I was just visiting Vancouver when I went there and only need the printer, so I can't judge the books or so, but for their kindness and helpfulness: 5 stars!
Even if you don't find what you want, I'm pretty sure they'll do their best to help you get through of it.

Why do you close so earlier? (I always had to move to a coffee shop to finish) and Why you do not open on Mondays? You are a library!

Smaller library so more limited selection but convenient for me so I put books on hold to be picked up here. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Rooftop parking is convenient too.

First time there. Lady at the front desk (July 27,2021,10: 30am) was very friendly and helpful.

Cute neighborhood library. Has a small bookable meeting room and teen reading area. There are also a small bank of computers, but they are well used so there is usually a wait. Small bike rack is immediately in front.

Staff are fairly regular and do their best to help. They have good displays and the window decorations are always creative.

I really like this VPL. I used to go to Britannia branch but this one I feel is better! Staff is very good and helpful. They are always kind. The ambient is very quiet in the same time very fresh and nice.

Absolutely the worst staff going around at this location. They close down computers and doors early. Refuse to serve you 2 mins before they are meant to close (even if you rush from work to get there) they tell you they have to get people out before 6pm on Saturdays (but why turn off computers to serve people before 6pm? !) The older female staff in particular won’t accept your card electronically (you must have hard copy card as it takes them 2 seconds longer to type in your numbers) and I have stood at the desk waiting for dvds (which are behind desk rather than on shelves) whilst staff just have a chat to each other) TERRIBLE! There are 2 male staff there that at least are cheery and helpful but that is about it from my experience. Plus it’s not open Monday’s! What library doesn’t open Monday’s? !

I love VPLs. The Hastings neighborhood branch is not particularly pretty but it's functional and you get everything you need. On hold items and quick checkout work very well.

The staff are so nice and patient, quite always, perfect place to study especially in the meeting room!
