They were very accommodating of my last minute appointment requests when my elderly cat got sick and gave her great care even though she was not a patient. I didn't feel they pushed any services or tests or medicine she didn't need.

They were compassionate and you can tell they cared.

I ended up getting a case full of expensive vet food for her kidneys but unfortunately she didn't make it. Staff very kindly allowed me to get a refund the unopened food.

Thank you for providing great and compassionate care for my cat in her final weeks.

They took good care of our puppy when he broke his tooth. They booked us an emergency surgery and the bill was much less than anticipated. We greatly appreciate the staff at Vancouver South Animal Hospital.

Meabh, the receptionist has extremely poor customer service. No greetings, no thank you, no manners. I've been to this hospital many times but she provides minimal service every single time. Try asking her a question and she will cut you off and try to end the conversation asap. Great doctors, but poor service at the front.

Have been bringing my dogs here for a couple of years now. Bit disappointed that their pricing seems to have changed from last year - quite significantly. I paid $1500 last year for two dogs teeth cleaning and an extraction and this year I’m being quoted $1800-2200 for one dogs teeth cleaning and an extraction. That’s a huge difference and I’m not impressed nor can the increase be justified.

I brought my 3 year old dog here yesterday to check out her injured back leg. When I called, I was the typical hysterical dog owner in a panic. Melissa answered the call and talked me off the ledge haha. She took over 10 mins to ask every question about how my dogs injury happened. Not overlooking any details.
When I arrived for the appointment she greeted me and welcomed me. I met Dr. Wayne and he took a decent amount of time testing everything he could to see what the injury could be.
In the end, a week of meds and 6-8 weeks of rest with no walks was the recommendation. He told me what to look for in regards to “improvement” vs. “Decline”. He was confident that this injury will pass and my dog should be back to her energetic fast self in 6-8 weeks.
When I left it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. Even if a lot of the stress was “in my head”, this team was so good and so professional. They clearly care about the well being of your fur-babies. I highly recommend this location.

Took my dogs here after a bad experience with my prior vet. Staff is friendly and booking is super easy with their app. Also the reminder for vaccines is so nice.

The doctor did not put the stamp of the rabies vaccine on the dog's card, nor did he give us the badge that the dog must carry saying that it has already been vaccinated. Then I asked for the bill twice and they forgot. Apart from that the service was good.

Reasonably priced, everyone was extremely nice. Vet David was very explanatory of everything. Definitely will be bringing my cat back. They honored free exam with my 5 yr old cat from SPCA which my last vet clinic would not honor free exam through SPCA. I did get 2 more vaccinations & a flea treatment which is once a month. This was extra but didnt need to get so then would've been no charges. Was my decision to get the 2 other vaccinations since I will be taking him outside.
My last vet, Cambie Animal Hospital, lost a good customer! I now have my new vet clinic Vancouver South!

Dr Brian was excellent. Although Yam is a very anxious and shy cat she felt comfortable being handled by him. He answered all my questions and gave me advice on what to do regarding some behaviour issues and incidents that we were having. We will try our best to stop redirecting her wood-chewing behaviour. We had a great appointment overall and will be back for the next yearly check-up exam. Thanks to the front desk staff for answering all my questions regarding payment and giving me an estimate of future procedures.

This has been our consistent local vet since we moved to South Vancouver. The staff are always very friendly and they are very gentle with our cat. They also never try to push you to pay for things you don't need - they're very considerate about pricing.

I'd say this is a great place to bring your pet. We're lucky to have such a good vet so close by.

Today was my first day there. It was the WORST experience I have ever had in 12 years. Dr. Sean McGowan really throws all expensive tests like blood tests and medications at you to be done right away and my impression is he is not very knowledgeable or informative. I wanted to research the medications (injection) he insisted on giving plus the blood tests and get back to them but the main problem was that he wouldn't take this for an answer, he kept insisting in an aggressive way for the injection. He wouldn't let you think about it, research or make an informed decision. I felt really uncomfortable discussing anything with him. If it will be your first time there please also be aware that the examination fee only is $85. I will never ever go back.

We had the best possible experience! Staff were so kind, attentive, considerate, and took care of everything we needed. Could not believe how positive the whole visit was, and how much they took care of for us. Absolutely have already recommended to others! Very excited to come back:)

I recently brought my cat lapis in for her yearly checkup and some annual vaccinations. Lapis was rather intimidated by the new environment and the vet assistant was very patient and caring. The veterinarian provided efficient and thorough service with the health checkup and the vaccinations. When I expressed a concern for not knowing how to properly clean her ears out, they provided me with a complimentary demo to educate me on appropriate technique and materials. While the appointment was perhaps a little more expensive than other clinics, It is certainly worth the high level of professional service that we were given. Will happily return as needed for my beloved pet's care. ️

Everyone who we came into contact with was exceptionally patient, and very nice. Very timely too (no waiting period for us) and the clinic/hospital was very clean.

Very efficient and caring office staff; Dr. Brien is excellent and takes the time to explain the game plan for Oliver’s care while explaining other options as well. Oliver is responding well with his plan. Very happy with Vancouver South Animal Hospital!

Take your cat to Dr David Gutierrez. He has suggested weaning mine off an expensive and harmful medication that was prescribed to her by her previous vet dermatologist. Also, the charges are low considering the location. I used to go all the way to New West to afford the regular care my cat needed but am happy to say that is no longer necessary.

Super friendly, great front end staff. Easy street parking. Easy as pie to make an appointment online. Highly recommend!

Wonderful team! Took over care of my 2 kitties when we moved into the neighborhood. Squeezed my kitty in for an appointment over the holidays when he was in really bad shape due to a new diagnosis of diabetes by the emergency vet. They kept him comfy and gave us as much time as we needed when it was time to say goodbye to our old boy Charlie.

They gave our younger kitty a snazzy lions cut which helped him through the heat wave last year and is now continuing with his care and I think he is definitely in great hands

The doctors at the Vancouver South Animal Hospital are very knowledgeable and professional. They resolved my dog's limping problem which was not able to be diagnosed by my previous vet. The staff is always so helpful and nice whenever I call. I feel I can rely on them for my dog's health. Fair pricing is a bonus!

This lady was the absolute worst and i’m not sure if she just actually hates me,
but I messaged them cause I saw there was a low income option online, so I tried to stress how much I need a lower income option and she completely ignored what I said, lied to me about the appointment I set up (for Apr 6th @ 2: 10) and was messaging me obscure prices about Flynn’s spay. I stressed I can’t afford the prices they gave me (which was over $400+) and basically told me to go f myself if I couldn’t afford it (No telling me about payment options or anything)

Dr brian is so great with both of my dogs! He is thorough, kind, and makes them feel at ease. He explains everything thoroughly to me and I never have the sense that he is prescribing more then necessary. The vet techs are great as well, and the front desk staff were so accommodating and worked hard to squeeze us in for an important appointment.

Lovely and kind staff Trust matters especially during these times when you cannot come in with your beloved pets.

Great staff and great vet. Very helpful, especially with getting rabies shots and titer test needed to fly to China. At the moment, only two people allowed in the reception area at once but I've never had to wait more than just a few minutes.

Dr. Ubi and his staff are professional, caring, courteous, and thorough. They have taken good care of my dog for many years.

Every one i encountered was kind and caring and was very sweet and reassuring about my cat. It was our first time there and even though it was under the covid restrictions I felt really comfortable leaving my cat with them. I have been going there for many years. All the staff are nice. The doctors patiently spend quite some time explaining my cat's health condition. They also have doctor available 7 days a week. Very convenient.

At first we found them to be attentive and good with follow-up, and had used them for vet care after moving into the Marpole neighbourhood. We then needed to have a couple lumps removed - from his front leg and his hind quarters. Both were found to be benign - a cebatious cyst and one other kind. This was a $1600 procedure.

We were initially a little put off by the apparent quality of the suture and incision. Our dog is susceptible to lumps and we'd had a couple removed by other vets, with very small tidy incisions and a few sutures. By contrast, the one on the front leg is about 2" long and the hair regrowth shows that he'll have a permanent black 2" scar permanently visible. This one, did however, heal.

The incision on his hind quarters was over 3" long with pretty sloppy stitchwork. Of more importance though was that it wouldn't heal properly. Kept watering and weeping and we ended up recently with two holes remaining, 4 weeks post-surgery. We've followed all post-surgery instructions carefully, kept the wound clean and it simply wouldn't heal. More distressing is that, at one end, a new hole opened up after apparently being healed.

Our research has indicated that this kind of thing usually occurs when sutures are poorly done during surgery.

So, we arranged to bring him in for a couple new sutures to see if we could get these final two holes to seal for good. We felt that, given the initial surgery never healed properly, that this should be part of the follow-up. We expected to pay for the service but not be given a $500 estimate for a couple sutures under local anaesthetic with a mild sedative.

They were steadfast that this was a net-new procedure and they would "need" to charge us the whole amount. We would have even happily met them halfway, but there was no budging and seemingly no willingness to admit that this should have been considered follow-up on their original surgery, given that it never healed.

We won't be returning.

At the time the vet said they felt it was healing well and claimed that the skin underneath was good, it was literally open and weeping. We were not in agreement with that assessment. And, if you do surgery on the hind quarters of a dog, how exactly do you stop them from lying/sitting on it and rubbing against furniture.

We'll state it again for clarity. The quality of the surgery was substandard and the sutures weren't great. It wasn't healing properly and this second surgery should have been part of the follow-up and not quoted at another $500.

Brody is a new patient at Vancouver South Animal Hospital. He can be anxious in certain situations but he was completely at ease with the staff and Dr. Jennifer. While we brought him in for a specific issue, she reviewed his medical history and conducted a general exam as well as checking on existing health conditions. She was very informative, provided recommendations and was open to answer all questions.

The initial consultation was fine but things went south after the surgical procedure. To keep it short, we're month in after the surgical procedure and the incision is not healing properly even after diligently following the post surgery instructions. First there was one point at one end of the incision that reopened and then a few weeks later, another at the opposite end of the incision. After some research, this happens when the sutures are not done properly. It was recommended we bring the dog in for a few stitches but weren't expecting a $500 estimate after already paying $1500 for the original surgery.

Instead taking any accountability, they justified the cost because I happened to mention that he rubbed his back on the furniture and that's what caused the incision to reopen. To me that suggests the suture weren't done properly in the first place allowing anything that brushes up against the stitches would cause it to reopen. Just how exactly do you prevent a dog from keeping his backside from making contact with anything? Very disappointed that there is no accountability and it's just a cash grab. Not even any effort to come halfway.

Vancouver South has an amazing team. Dr. Alan truly cares for the animals. He’s taken care for our Golden Retriever since he was a puppy. One time we had to come 3 times for the same issue because the medications would work then stopped. He didn’t charge us for an appointment because we had come in a few times. We were so grateful especially with money being short during covid.
I highly recommend!

We had excellent service for our first visit of a recently adopted dog. Staff were attentive, friendly, professional and it seems our little guy enjoyed his visit too.

Booking online - go multiple appointments made and when I pointed it out, was told a system issue. However, the first appointment actually listed everything I had added while the second one did not. Ironically, the first one included something's that I now need to make a second appointment for.
Unfortunately, Dr Allan today was abrupt and I felt was speaking down to me.
Service drops from a 4 or 5 star to 1 because of all of this.

We’ve been attending this clinic for years. We travel from North Vancouver to this clinic at Cambie and 59th for the excellent care, transparent pricing, and good service we receive from CAH. Dr Ubi has been our vet for over 10 years with different animals and he is so kind, very respectful, knowledgeable, and caring. Recently he sold this practice, but he still works there. The other vets we’ve encountered, when Dr. Ubi is away, are also solid. This clinic is the best animal care I’ve ever gotten. And it’s always at a fair price.

Dr. Jennifer and the vet tech were very gentle with my dog as he was shaking with fear visiting a vet. We went for an annual checkup and inquired about our dog’s limpy early arthritic hind leg. Dr. Jennifer suggested a treatment plan that is significantly less costly and invasive than surgery since it is still early stage of arthritis. We will definitely consider this for our dog.

The love, care, compassion through check ups, palliative, and sadly end of life visits have been nothing but amazing. My kitty Moo was very lucky to have been treated here. She seemed to adore Dr Jennifer and Mat, and it was sad meeting for Dr Ubi, but all of the staff who work here have been nothing short of amazing. I thank you, and Moo thanks you.

They made a HUGE mistake on my dog vaccines. No attention at all about something so simple! They say the DHPP is annual, but they didn’t give this one in 2018. I asked in December 2019, and the receptionist told me my dog was only due to two vaccines instead of 3. All this time my dog was not vaccinated against DHPP! The veterinary missed! Then again the same veterinary (a woman) wrote down Rabies 3 years to 2021, but she did the vaccine on 2017! I mean how can I trust them? Don’t take your dog here or if you take pay attention on what they are injecting in your dog and for when they say the next one is due.

At first I really liked but then everything isnt that clear anymore. My dog vaccine would expire now in december but I gave my dog vacines 3 weeks ago and now they have a sale giving 50%off on vaccines, someone could told me to wait. I ask for the price of my dog blood exam twice and no one anwsered, I end up doing because it was necessary and when I saw the price I almost faint. My dog take control medicines and the price there is really expensive so I decided to check in a pharmacy and I end up discovering that the price they charge is a complete joke. I am really sad because I love the all the vets there, they are really carefull and the staff is nice but I am really frustaded.

I brought my doggie for spay procedure and all went great. Very informative at the moment of release and great after release follow up on my doggie status. Thanks!

Was so happy and relieved to have found a vet that I am very comfortable with and could trust. The staff here are very friendly and professional. You can really tell they love animals. Not only do they have compassion in treating your pet, they also empathize with the owners as well. It is always a good feeling to know things will be okay with your pet.

My family has been bringing our pets to this clinic for generations now, this time it was my turn. Everyone at Cambie Animal Hospital are fabulous. I wouldn’t trust Seamus’s health care to anyone else. I left our previous vet because of the constant “upsell”. There is none of that here and they genuinely care about your pet and not how much $$$ they can charge you.

They always take extra care of my pet. Cambie Animal was a recommendation from a friend, and I'd recommend them to anyone looking to bring their family member somewhere that truly cares.
