Vancouver transit is growing which is great but it really bothers me that buses don't run on time. I can understand buses being late because of traffic but when buses dont keep to their schedules by flying past midway stops and waiting for an extended period at major stops. This is especially true on weekends or during afterhours schedules when buses come by at wider intervals and people have to make a specific bus to make it to school or work.

They're thieves, by accident I threw a handful of papers with money in a garbage that was locked I called transit information they said they couldn't help me and behold 10 minutes later transits are opening up the garbage taking the money.

I recently acquired a 3-wheeled electric Scooter and thanks to the VTC Website discovered Vancouver Transit had a Training Class for Scooter and Wheelchair travellers using the Vanc. Bus system.
I phoned for an appointment and went there for an hour’s training yesterday by a Bus DRUVER, (not a Transit Desk-Type person).

Drew showed me the best methods of getting on and off the Two distinctly different types of bus in use on the Lower Mainland. Having a Driver show me was most helpful as he knew the pitfalls encountered by Scooter users, especially for me with a slightly longer model of Scooter.

This training gave me incredible confidence and I immediately put it to use at 2: 20-ish pm on my way home to West 41st Ave, even though the very first bus was a newer model of bus recently put into use by VTC. And even though the interior configuration was
ever so slightly different than the two buses I had been trained on earlier, with the very kind assistance of that bus driver, I was able to manoeuvre myself into a safe travelling position. Getting off was a breeze. It was the driver who explained it was one of the newer models in the fleet.

ThisTraining Service provided by VTC must be commended, NOT ONLY for providing this service, but for having such a patient and understanding instructor as Drew who helped me yesterday!

I strongly recommend anyone new to the world of Electric Scooters or Wheelchairs, that they should book an appointment and take this FREE, practical and confidence building Training Course at VTC near Hudson and Marine Drive in Vancouver.

Thank you VTC for this incredible service.

The transit system in Vancouver is a joke. If you really believe they’re good you must be on their payroll!
