We were referred by our vet to have an ECG for our dog who always had anxiety going to the vet. We were assured that she would be sedated for the procedure. When we went to pick up after 90 minutes we waited to see Dr. Linda. Kaplan. She provided the diagnosis but said our girl had to be on oxygen as she had turned blue. Due to her stressed state they had not been able to sedate her. Our girl was shaved etc. I can only imagine the fear she would have experienced going through with no sedation. The procedure should not have been undertaken if she was too stressed to be put under sedation. After seeing Dr. Kaplan we then had to wait whilst our dog was still being calmed an on oxygen. When she came to us she was so pleased and the assistant said something to the effect “now you’re happy”. Our girl died 3 weeks later and we wish we had never trusted Dr. Kaplan and her team. A total lack of judgement on this occasion. We would have been ok with paying for the appointment if we had been told it was not safe to do the procedure. We should have been contacted and updated on what was happening so that we could make the decision and go and pick her up.

Accompanied my girlfriend about her dog with multiple health issues. A difficult situation as clearly degenerative but unsure where the end would be. Very professional and compassionate team. Great vet who gave a very forthright assessment.

I also appreciate the student vets she had shadowing her. Training students is something I value!

Probably the best care we have ever experienced. We have a high needs little one who we adopted. By the time we got to VCA we were exhausted and not sure if we could make it with her. The care she has received and the support we have received not only from Dr Caunce but the techs as well made an incredible difference in all of our lives. They celebrate the successes with us just as much as they are there during the tough days. Every single staff we have interacted with obviously loves their job. Being referred to VCA from our regular vet (and they are incredible too) has been a true blessing for our family. Don't hesitate to call these professionals!

Dr Kaplan and Dr Gibson are phenomenal exotic veterinarians. Have had very satisfactory experiences with their help and expertise - would recommend.

Had a great experience with Dr. Goos and the other girls at VCA. We are from Alberta but use them as our vet in the summer when we are in Lake Country and have always been very happy with the service and treatment we've been provided. They have been able to get us in with short notice and treat our dogs like their own. Yes they can be busy and don't always answer the phone when you call the first time but they return our calls within a very reasonable time. Every one of our dogs has loved coming here. We will continue using them as our go to office when we are in Lake country. The facility is clean and the staff is happy to see both pets and owners.

This place is the absolute best! Tri Lake is the only place locally I have found that regularly has an exotics vet to see my rabbits for emergencies. We have set up annual health check appointments and they have helped one of my rabbits with stasis issues (photo of the hoppy customer).
Everyone has always been kind and helpful, taking our concerns seriously and helping us understand what is best for the rabbits. They have done their best to help coach us if emergency appointments aren't available on a couple occasions. I asked about getting my rabbits vaccinated for RHDV and they got vaccine imported and let us know right away to set up an appointment.
It's never a good day when your pet has an emergency, but you know they are in the best hands here. They will follow up to make sure everything is ok after the appointment and will always give you honest feedback and advice. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Do not let Dr kisiel work on your dog. Nothing bad about this clinic. Dr kisiel gave my 10 month old puppy a seizure while under her care. Had zero empathy when she called to let me know and said I was unreasonable for crying. Then told me it would be 1200$ to monitor him over night to make sure another seizure doesn’t happen again. I requested to speak to dr kisiel about what happened in full detail before paying $800 for the X-rays I had done and why she chose to use completely different medications to sedate him that were much stronger than the medications used in his previous sedations. She refused to call me back to explain and released $800 of X-rays for free 10 minutes later to my email. Left Ontario after many complaints at Rolark hospital and is now in BC to start fresh? Admitted to not speaking to me before the sedation to let me know of any possible complications. Told me they were very busy that day with other appointments and he was sedated much longer than originally planned. (I have this all in writing from the hospital) There was also two other deaths at this hospital while she was working there within 3 months of my dogs incident. If you Google Rolark animal hospital in Toronto you will see all of the horrible stories people posted while she was working there. It is unfortunate to have to leave a negative review at this location but she represents this company now and plays a huge role as a surgeon there and it is only right for the residents of bc to know of the many complications she had at her previous location before relocating to a new province. Always do extra research on the vet who will be personally working on your animal for any negative reviews. Don’t trust anyone with your dog even if they are a specialist and are referred by another vet.

Excellent care! Kind and considerate, great energy in here. Discussed treatment and option's. Will be my Veterinarian office permanently. And they treat and provide care for a great variety of pets including birds and weasels. My ferret is a happy healthy little dude and they will help keep him that way!

This vet is awesome. They take small animals at a moment’s notice, take their time with them and provide detailed after care instructions as well as follow up! Best service from a vet I’ve had (I deal with several as I’m a foster for cats)

Absolutely amazing staff. I understand the way triage is.
With how embarrassing it is, I thought my rat was over due but turns out she was just a wee bit chonky

Amazing experience! We’ve recently brought both our puppies through their puppy vaccinations program and one with a stomach issue, we couldn’t thank the vets and staff at Tri Lake enough. What an amazing experience all the staff knew our pups by name, always so welcoming and the vets were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.

They were so awesome with us AND our Dummy. We have been to a few clinics around in that last little while and they BY FAR had the best disposition with our boy (and ourselves). Thank you for your patience and kindness with us.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Edwards and her rehab team!

Our dog receives high quality care for various challenges. Dr. Edwards is extremely patient - she really takes the time to answer the many questions I have and I always feel relief after speaking to her.

Our dog absolutely loves coming to the clinic and we are so thankful to have such a great team of skilled professionals to improve our dogs quality of life.

The front desk staff are always friendly and welcoming. They really seem to care about the work they do and the service customers receive.

Thank you for all you do Tri Lakes!

I brought my dog here to get spayed and she got mites! Disgusting cleaning practices. Then when I brought her in to get diagnoses, the vet dragged out the appt trying to convince me it was alopecia.
Also, brought my male dog in for a bacterial infection and his ears were all torn up from scratching at them and she didn't even give me a cone! Another one of the vets doesn't like big dogs so doesn't properly assess them. Really unprofessional, unclean, and bad veterinarians. Which is too bad, because all the nonvet ladies are really kind. But bad doctors makes a bad practice!

I had a pet snake when I was in my 20s. This hospital from the time I walked in and even just booking the appointment was a good experience. The staff were so kind. A very wonderful veterinarian gave me the best advice! I was not experienced with caring for a reptile or snake. I was so worried about something being wrong with him and he was a beautiful older cornsnake. Red black white and yellow. He was gentle and unlikely to attack you. Think Mexican garter snake. She held him the entire time she was giving me SO MUCH advice! What to look for if he actually was to get sick. How he sheds what helps him. She had a wonderful tone of voice. I was feeling better, immediately after getting there. She said, upon picking him up and holding him in her very capable hands 'he's healthy and there's nothing wrong with him. He is a little bit cold. ' She told me how to make sure he's warm enough and about his digestion. About the big set of lungs they have. What to use in their territory so they dont sneeze and cough. The internet is where many people who have been so lucky to have an exotic type of pet, look for advice. It is filled with advice on the subject. However. After that visit. I can only say, the internet has a very scary amount of wrong information or just not all of the correct information together to set up your pet's terrarium. The amount of very good and proper information on EVERY aspect of keeping tropical snakes that I received was well worth it to me. I am so glad to have made the right decision and visit! I highly reccomend if you have any kind of reptile for a pet. I would be very happy to take any pet I love and have here! For how much happier than he would have been had I not gone! I was a single mother with a not quite full time job making close to minimum wage. I worked in a cafe. I had NO PROBLEM handing over the money to pay them for my visit. Thankyou!
