Vedder Sushi

This seems to be the most authentic sushi place in Chilliwack, with out all the weird sauces that many other local places put on traditional rolls.

Rice was over cooked and was not thick enough around the sushi. On kappa roll the seaweed was so dry and the service was very low the waitress didn’t check on us and was on her phone. Was rude and didn’t even say goodbye. Also very expensive

I usually always get take out… however when I dine in the service has been great. I love this establishment. It is my go to before anywhere else. My fav is the spicy crunch roll… among other items…

Just tried Vedder Sushi for the first time tonight. Delicious and friendly staff, will definitely be back. 05/27/2018

Had been my favorite sushi place for four years now. Just went back and was very disappointed.
Didn't even recognize my food.

Good food but really bad service. We’ve given them a couple chances cause the food is good but it’s not worth it. Wouldn’t dine in again.

Tasty food with friendly, efficient service and competitive pricing. Always look forward to eating here.

Great food at a decent price! We enjoyed our orders and they have some interesting rolls with different ingredients like feta cheese. The Katsu was lovely and the agedashi tofu was also great. Ample parking space and easy to access, we'll be back for sure!

No AC inside, I was sweating after the miso soup. Above average prices for very average sushi—yam tempura was undercooked, and teriyaki sauce was thicker than what you would usually find, similar to what gravy does when left out too long. The service was quite slow as well.

My go to place for Japanese food. The dinner box comes with an incredible variety and amount of food. Always top notch for quality, even when getting take out. My mouth waters thinking of when I can next go back!

Not even worth the one star waaay to saucy and soggy not authentic I’ve never heard of honey mustard on sushi the meso soup made us sick if you want delicious sushi drive to Abbotsford on whatcom road sushi Nara is your best option I don’t know how much they paid for these 5 star reviews but no way

We live down the st and have eaten here many times over the years. Always tasty and fast friendly service.

Amazing sashimi. Very generous portion size. Special rolls are very good but different varieties than I am used too.

My wife and I had a great lunch. We came in and ordered take out, the portions were generous, the food was tasty and the service was great!

I was driving around looking for another sushi place, saw this place pulled in, which is out of character for me.this place is way better then superstore.the food was gourmet. I almost ate the whole tray.lol.

Editing my review from a 5 to a 3 star as the past 4 visits just haven't been up to Vedder standards. We've been going here for years and are starting to wonder if it's time to fund somewhere new? Portions have gotten smaller, less care is going into the rolls. My chicken in my chichee roll was visibly dry is just one of the latest issues. This place used to put out nothing but perfect sushi, a little disappointed.

The food & the wait was ok.not superb but ok.what i didn't liked was my bill came first before my meal.it wasnt a take out.it was
DINE IN.disappointing service.

Fresh food, friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Our group of 8 had a great time and will be back again.

Okay, some details: consistently fresh food, great variety (in 2019 they just added a bunch of stuff to their menu), pleasant ambience (although a bit cramped), and if you order a larger amount they will often throw in an extra plate 'on the house'.
A few years ago they had trouble finding good wait staff, but no longer a problem as of this posting:)

Vedder Sushi is my new favourite place in town. I'm pretty boring in my choices, almost exclusively maki (with or without nori), nigiri and sashimi. I don't like all the goop people pile on to bizarre-looking, oddly named creations that look like colourful deep-sea animals that exploded out of a crayon factory.

Our favorite neighborhood sushi place, also has amazing sashimi, teriyaki, tempura, even the bulgogi is delicious and beautiful! Friendly staff, meticulous chefs, impressive portions and excellent prices - highly recommend.

My adopted mum, Cathy, is a regular here. They are very kind to her and treat her like family. Their food is very fresh, I have eaten at many sushi places all over the Lower Mainland and this is by far one of the freshest - and it's in The Valley!

Excellent nigiri, they cut their fish well and it's a good fish to rice ratio, and the rice is well-seasoned. They always throw in a few pieces on the house in the takeout orders, as well! And whenever I've left a tip on the takeout order and gone to the bathroom after, I've always come back to something extra added to my bag, whether miso soup or a roll. Makes me feel appreciated as a repeat customer. My go-to stop on drives to Interior BC.

Excellent meal but more attention to service/wait times during lunch would certainly help. 20+ minutes after being sat just to take a drink order.

Good food terrible service. The service used to be good but not anymore. First instance went in they sat us farest away. 20 mins in they left us sitting there waiting to order when it was only a couple other customers there I waved at the waitress they just looked at me and they sat down at a table. 35 mins later The older waitress finally came over and was super rude the whole time.like we were bothering them being a customer there.

2nd time I called in an order I miss pronounced tako nigiri then she was just rude and just hangs up on me and doesnt tell me when it's ready. I phone back to ask just says 15 mins and hangs up rudely.

Order took longer then supposed only to find my order was all vegetarian spent over 30$ on all veggie rolls when regular rolls were ordered. Simply disappointed: (

First time visitor, heard of it via a friend. Excellent service, fast preparation, food is delicious and fresh. Got to my car to discover they threw in an extra treat on the house. Will definitely be back

I have tried several of the sushi places in chilliwack and i find Vedder Sushi competes very well for value.i usually order the dinner box and a small cali roll and it is often too much for 2 people to finnish.
They hace recently stepped it up for the decor in the restaurant dressing it up to an upscale dining decor with privacy screens and gr8 quality silk foliage and design items. I reccomend this place.

Most beautiful presentation and delicious food for cheap price! We took a chance on it and now this is my to go sushi restaurant ever. We ordered the Magma Roll and the Viking roll and I am giving both a 10/10.

This is our sushi place for sure! We eat here about 1 a week, no lie! We love it. We are always well received and the food is unbelievable! Always fresh and we always get a few extras.which is always great! I recommend Vedder Sushi for sure! My sister is from Quebec and she is a sushi foodie and she says Vedder is by far the best sushi she has ever had!
