This “academy” is actually garbage. They mistreat, exploit and discriminate against their students; They have no humanistic sense, please do not send your sons and daughters!

The Victoria Academy of Ballet is an inspired dance school. The spaces are beautiful and clean and well cared for, and the staff are top notch. It's the perfect place to inspire young dancers and to let their dancing lives flourish. We enrolled our toddler in a parent and tot class, and even for such a young age group the experience they offer has been one of such high calibre. Classes have been playful, engaging, interactive, all while laying the foundation for a real dance class. It's the highlight of our little one's week.

What an amazingly positive experience for my dancer. She was encouraged, supported and inspired during her 3 week stay during the summer program. The home stay arrangement was well executed, great communication and clear expectations. My daughter and her home stay family are still in touch often as well as her roommate. The whole experience was so positive and we are looking forward to being at VAB again in the future.

Victoria Academy of Ballet is a great place that gives dancers the opportunity to bridge the gap from students into professionals.
I am originally from Mexico, and if you are considering moving to Canada to study dance at VAB, I can assure it will be one of the best decisions you will ever make. I had the opportunity to attend VAB, and having to move away from home to a foreign country it isn’t easy, but the VAB staff is always caring for you, and they offer the option to stay with a homestay, for your first year or as many years as you want.
The faculty at VAB are so passionate, inspiring, committed and warm, never be shy about asking for feedback, they are there to guide you and help you grow.
At VAB you will get to have the joy of dancing in such a beautiful building with great studios, located in Victoria, BC. I have to admit is one of my favourite cities in the world, and has been recently ranked top in the 2023 list world’s best cities by Cónde Nast.

My daughter attended the summer intensive in July 2023. The instruction she received from VAB faculty was amazing. Since beginning the dance year at her home studio, she has received compliments from her instructors, as they notice a marked improvement in her dance ability since attending the intensive.

My son started his VAB journey in their Boys Can Dance program. He quickly learned his love for dance and enjoyed going to class. The teachers are all amazing and I am always blown away at the talent that comes from VAB.

This school takes advantage of the vulnerability of international students to manipulate them by not knowing how things work in Canada.

Don't believe any of the reviews from 4 months ago which are mostly written by begrudged former students and their close acquaintances. And they say nothing of the actual quality of Victoria Academy's Ballet's programs. The instruction and education of this institute speaks for itself by the quality of the dancers they produce.
I recently watched a contemporary piece of theirs that was on par if not better than some of the professional ballet company shows I've seen. This school consistently produces incredible dancers that displayed a very deep knowledge and execution of ballet.

I’ve supported VAB students
for 17 years, first in language instruction and more recently through homestay. I was surprised to see some 0-1 star reviews here and understand this to be the result of a campaign by some international students whose behaviour led to them losing their scholarships. I’ve only ever seen extreme care and consideration given to their international students.

Ms Bellis’ focus is always on individualized care and support with the student’s long term wellbeing front of mind. The quality of instruction is exceptional. I’ve seen students make huge strides even over the summer when they participate in intensives and their performance shows are amazing. The high calibre contemporary and classical ballet instruction is also seen in domestic and international competition standings, as well as in the careers of their graduates. Last but not least, they must have the most beautiful dance facilities anywhere in their custom built premises!

A positive and encouraging environment with the highest standards for dance education. Faculty are among the best trained in Canada and nurture each child to reach their potential as dancers. The life lessons learned through dance education transfer to life experience and children of all ages feel welcome in this happy and positive environment.

Had a wonderful experience in Adult Beginner Ballet. Everyone should try this class. So fun!
