Victoria Kayak Tours & Rentals

Had a great tour with our guide Gabby! She was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna we saw, as well as the various boats and landmarks we passed in the harbour. She was super accommodating and enthusiastic about the wildlife and city and it’s history. We also had the great luck of seeing a harbour seal up close! He followed us for a few minutes and he was very cute, you can see him off the back of the kayak in the attached picture.
When I made my booking, I expressed worry about being able to fit in their kayaks because I have wide hips and some companies only use one style of kayaks with a small opening. The company was great, they said I could come early to try out a kayak and make sure it would fit me and that they’d refund me if they didn’t have one that could fit me, but they were pretty confident they had some options that would work, and I was very happy that they were right.

My partner and I did a moonlight tour with Kip at Victoria Kayak a month ago and it was a truly magical experience. He has a great knowledge of the area and seeing the city lights from the water with the moon up above was beautiful.

Gareth was very nice and knowledgeable. I'm not a sporty person but he definately taught me the techniques very well. We had a lot of fun.

Kip was our tour guide and was super friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended for a nice evening out in the sea.

It turns out that I was the only client who booked for that time, and what was her attitude? They told me: ok it seems that you will have a private tour. I was very surprised because in other places they ask for a minimum of reservations to be able to carry out the tour.to which I had a beautiful tour, with a very pleasant talk and explanation of the surroundings and even a bit of the personal life of the excellent and kind guide Caroline, who made me feel like I was on a trip with lifelong friends.

We had a great tour and loved seeing the harbor seals. It made our teenage son’s top two favorite things of our trip!

I had a great sunrise tour with my guide. There were only the two of us and we did the harbour area as I had paddled the gorge the night before. We were able to see an eagle and it's juvenile as well as many seals. Gareth educated me about the area and the wildlife. He picked up some floating garbage along the way, so you can tell he really cares about what he does.

An amazing experience! We saw so many seals and waterfowl! The girl who helped us out, I forget her name but she closed the shop on Septemeber 2! Was so kind. When I struggled to turn around in the Harbour she didn't make me feel bad. The path to follow was so easy and so enjoyable, the only thing I would recommend is some sunglasses!

A fantastic morning out in Victoria harbour! Our guide, Matteo, was patient getting us organised at the start, informative throughout the tour on everything from First Nation history, to sea and bird life, to Victoria housing, sea planes, kayak racing, restaurants and more!
Best way to see as much of the city and find out about it when we only had a short time there

Need to clearly state on the website that you can only do online bookings as of now due to short staffing. As we came to rent a kayak there and was greeted with the sign of no rentals.

Reserving kayaks online was easy and the staff did their job to ensure we had everything we needed to be safe. Not the friendliest so it wasn't a very welcoming space, but they were also quite busy with customers arriving frequently.

I took a Sunrise Tour on a Thursday morning with a friend who was in town, and it couldn't have been better. We lucked out and were the only two on the early morning slot, so it felt like we had a private tour of the harbour and nearby coast. The weather was perfect, blue skies and calm water (thanks for arranging that for us). Our guide, Olivia, was superb and although I first came to Victoria over eight years ago, I learnt some fascinating new things about the local area. Highly recommended; not just for tourists.

We rented a double kayak and two bikes for their surf and turf special. Very easy to access both items and staff was friendly. Only negative was the unclear pricing.

Edit: the owner was very nice and responsive, they clarified the pricing and it is no longer an issue. We would return here.

I can’t wait to go back out on the water with Victoria Kayak.

More local lore and historical context and animal identification and ecological information than one would think could be packed into just 2.5 hours—all while effortlessly (thanks to the ultralite paddle and responsive kayak with rudder) zipping over to see seals and laugh at (or perhaps *with*) the oystercatchers.

Great for locals and not-locals.

It was a great afternoon on the water. There knowledge and expertise is top shelf! They are well equipped to handle all levels of skill and have multiple routes to make a great trip no matter the weather.

Incredible experience doing a morning kayak around the harbour to Seal Island! Our guide was knowledgeable and cheery and kept us on time without feeling hurried. Saw seal, heron, a giant starfish and some amazing scenary. 100% recommend the early tour if you can!
