Clean, great location, top service results in five stars for this spot. Being able to access the lounge made the experience 10x better from their happy hour to their continental breakfast to a great quiet spot to work. The staff from the front desk to the cleaning staff are wonderful and pay attention to details of the customer. The hotel is located a 5-7 min walk across from downtown Victoria. A top rated experience here.

Great location with friendly staff. Rooms are clean, modern contemporary, and spacious. A great place to stay downtown close to many food options and shops. The Marriott M Club is a nice addition to this property as it is spacious, clean, and comfortable with refreshments around the clock.

Update June 7,2023: implementing mandatory valet parking was the worst thing this location has done. It is run by indigo staff and I just got majorly disrespected. I inquired about the possibility of parking my own car or having someone come with me (manual transmission sports car) and was instructed to park to the side while the junior valet inquired about this. I let the car idle for no more than 1 minute and another aggressive valet comes up and tells me to turn my car off because I was poisoning everyone and he doesn’t care because it will be his last day working. It was completely ridiculous, and unacceptable to treat your Bonvoy Platinum/Titanium guests this way. I ended up choosing the absurdity of paying for street parking and leaving my car on the street as I felt it was a better option than using the valet. This exchange was so off putting I’m seriously doubting my desire to stay here again.

Update August 2023:
Thank you to Mady Brown and her team for addressing the issue promptly and professionally. My subsequent stays were great and they have re-earned my trust in their establishment. Subsequent use of the valet was also met with much better service and attitudes from their new staff. Looking forward to future stays here again.

Despite staying at this Marriott on multiple occasions, I’ve never been so poorly treated. The assistant operations manager, Jenette Sy, refused to give us access back into our room after our cards stopped working 2 hours before our approved checkout. Despite providing identification and the requested information, we were locked out for 1.5 hours while my partner was supposed to be working from the hotel room. We were originally charged for the extra afternoon when we were unable to access our room to pack and leave and were treated with embarrassingly low levels of professionalism. Jenette also seemed not to listen to simple questions, such as asking for a printed receipt or that we were locked out and not looking to checkout, or the many times we asked to speak with a front desk manager. A career in hospitality may not have been the correct choice for her. Saying you will send an email ‘sometime later today’ is never the right response to an upset customer.

Overall it is nice hotel stay in Victoria. It is 5-10 mins walk to harbour and close to all good restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay here.

I usually do not have time to write a review. However, I will make an exception given how I was totally flabbergasted by such lack of professionalism. I came to the Marriott as a work stay. I was given a receipt itemized but then was charged for more than the receipt amount. After talking to three different people over the course of 4 days and been hanged up on three consecutive times by Katie at the front desk, I decided to have a male staff from work call with me. Then, Katie finally patched us through to accounting. Accounting apologized and specified why we were charged more than the receipt amount and that will be reimbursed soon for the extra charges. (Took all and all 10minutes of explanation). I am director at my company, yet had to call a male staff to be heard. This is totally outrageous. Katie was rude, unprofessional and would not listen. As service is everything in a service industry I will give this place a 1 star, even though amenities were decent.

Unfortunately they have let their pool go. It was actually disgusting. I went in the hot tub with my friends and would only hang my feet. The spa was not full and dingy as all get out. If you’re going to have a pool and spa keep it clean and in working order you charge enough for the rooms!

The location of this hotel is envious. It's close enough for a short walk to the downtown tourist attractions like the bug zoo or and the museum and far enough to be quiet.

The rooms are very clean but not upscale to warrant the $450 tariff in Summer.

The front desk staff doesn't make you feel as welcome as they would as an gold elite member in Edmonton or Toronto. The Delta hotels does that part well. The other pet peeve is the forced valet parking. I.e. No option to self park. I found a public parking to part overnight on Courtney Street 3 mins walk as opposed to the $32 valet parking.

The breakfast we ordered in the room was top notch! The view from the hotel was great as you see in the photos.

I give 2 stars to hotel because of services. I booked hotel about 15 to 20 days ahead and confirm with manager on duty that its my husband birthday if they can decorate room with ballons and a little cake. They clearly says yes, we can do that. On the day of arrival, I had words with them several time that I hope it will be ready and their words were, " DO NOT WORRY, IT WOULD BE READY BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL".
I have to come from vancouver so I arrived at 11: 30 Pm at night. I asked front desk just to be sure, is my room decorated and cake is there?
She had no idea about it, she went to see our room. And guess what it was not ready, no decoration at all. No doubt, she was nice but where is the 4 star hotel service. She wants 5 mints to decorate room. And at the end I celebrate my husband birthday at road 12'o clock at night because they want 5 mints to do decoration. Okay, let me share what is next. We went to our room what I see 3 ballons tie with the table, this is consider as decoration. Really bad experience with hotel, not worth the money. Had bad experience on special day.

I love the Marriott chain. Every country that we have stayed in has always been top notch.

BE WARNED.that the hotel has 16 floors and has been operating with only two elevators for weeks. In fact, only one elevator is available for guests much of the day as managment positions a staff member inside an elevator to reserve it for staff use. I personally witnessed this one busy morning. This caused bedlam over the weekend and will continue to significantly inconvenience guests during this busy summer season. If you intend to stay here, ask about it before booking and expect a discount on the rate for the poor service this outage causes.

Great service. Asked for a crib and it was at the room before I unloaded my bags of car. Later asked for a microwave and it was a the room in few minutes.

The only concern is the gym. The gym is very poor. I wish the hotel would have heavier dumbbells (maximum weight there is 50lb), - for example, couple adjustable 90lb dumbbells, and one universal cable machine would be great.

When we booked back in January we were told that the rate for parking was $24 a night. Upon arrival we were told that parking was valet only at a rate of $32 a night. I explained to the manager that we hadn't been notified of the change. Since it's a 3rd party that does the parking they claimed they can't do anything about it. Really? ! You're the Marriott Hotel chain. Can't even comp me breakfast or something?

Not very transparent with regards to parking. There are no other options for parking so they offer valet parking services at a pretty hefty price. They should tell the customers before they come that there paying for them to park in the garage. Lack of options and they know it. Hotels.good hotels should accommodate parking especially if your a traveller from out of town

We have been coming here for years. We always try and stay at the Marriott in Victoria. The staff are friendly and the rooms are modern and clean. Great location.

Best part during my stay were the staff and the location. Their washrooms really need upgrade, room looked modern but washroom took me to the 80s.one of the elevators weren’t working during my entire stay-wed to Saturday, had to wait for so long

Very disappointed with our experience here and most of the service we received. We went up to the room we were assigned and tapped the room card and it didn’t open. So we got a different key and brought it up and it still didn’t work and so we called them to send someone up to unlock the door. (The two maintenance guys who helped were amazing tho) but when we walked into the room it was full of people’s stuff… it had not been checked out of. So if you were in room 708 two days ago we were given ur room and promptly exited because we were disturbed the hotel messed up that bad. When we notified guest services, we received half-hearted apology and a breakfast voucher for one choice of breakfast. We also asked for room service to bring two glasses up and because all that was in the room were paper cups… the glasses never got delivered.

This is my reliable go to hotel for downtown Victoria. The rooms are nicely renovated and always clean. The bathrooms could use a freshening up too. The pool and gym are nice and its location is perfect for exploring downtown.

We had a very comfortable stay - the room was comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed breakfast each morning in the restaurant downstairs. Food was good, service was excellent. I'd like to especially mention Angela who was there every morning to serve us with a smile and friendly demeanor. Miki also was a friendly and pleasant server.
